Lockjaw is, at worst, the second best member of the core Inhumans group after Black(agar) Bolt(agon). If they were going to add a tie-in for the show premiere I'd sure as hell rather have him than Crystal, or Karnak, or whoever else they'd dredge up. 

That said, it's still bizarre that the tie-in for Defenders was a lazy, useless 3* Elektra and not JJ.

The tie-in for Defenders was a 5* Daredevil. Because business sense, 5*s make them more money. 

We didn't get Elektra at the cost of not getting JJ. Elektra was a freebie tossed in on top.

If we'd gotten a 5* Jessica Jones instead, we probably would have still gotten a 3* Elektra.

what's so ridiculous about him ? The fact that he's a dog ? I think Spider-Gwen is a more ridiculous character than Lockjaw. Even Peggy Carter is ridiculous if you think about it (same reason as gwen... ex girlfriends become superheroes. Really ? What's next, Ant May ?)

But the canine is unique. So I don't see the problem here. Alpha flight have a sasquach as a team member (similar to chewie from star wars). Would he be ridiculous too if they add him into the game ? What about the Observers ? They sure look funny...

I mean there are a lot of "ridiculous" heroes marvel brought up, but Lockjaw isn't one of them. (And no, I'm not a fan of Inhumans).

Crystal and Lockjaw is fine, I suppose (although I don't think we need that many members of the royal family). It's instead of that would bother me.

Is there a Marvel superhero cat? (as much of a cat as Lockjaw is a dog, at least) Even if it's a panther/jaguar/tiger, etc.? I feel like there must be at least one out there.

Though I bet we're more likely to get the other feline Pet Avenger, Hairball.

As for other feline characters, I'd like Black Cat. In addition to Hellcat/Tigra, I'd also add  White Tiger to the mix. That should really be our goal. We need enough feline heroes and villains in MPQ to have a broadway musical.
