I randomly leveled Rags to 70 back then (post-nerf already). Guess had no one else to level. Well he was randomly useful in LRs, the recent Dark Avengers tourney and now this. Mine's buffed to 160 which will make him tank green and red for Punisher, so there's that.
  • ok, I'll try again. lvl 360 is too fast. their dmg is crazy.

er...guys...how did you beat the last simulator stage that has Spiderman, wolverine and Lieut anent? Mine are level 360 in hard mode and 260 in normal mode and they are like untouchable. Target spiderman, lieutenant heals, target lieutenant, spiderman stuns me. What's the combo of your team that beats this?
    Have you been grinding?

Just playing in the morning on bus and at night. SOmetimes in the day during lunch time? Does that consider grind? I see the progression has lots of gold to collect...
  • I am so, so close to the Ragnarok progression reward - less than 1k points. I have 3 unplayed nodes in hard that don't require him + one more should do it... but they're completely beyond me. Just managed to beat sim5 with mStorm and a barely alive Thor... now on to sim6 with lv 122 OBW and cStorm, so my own Widow + Storms are out and that in the desert. I have no idea what team to bring to that one, from my measly 2* roster. I tried Thor + Ares + Daken and hoped to stomp on them before they got going, but miscalculated an Onslaught on Storm and she survived with something like 50 HP and hit me with raging tempest, which meant I didn't have enough HP left to deal with Psylocke.

Guess I'll give that team another try with some boosters once they heal up, but otherwise... Any ideas what I can do here? I don't have any of the usually suggested 3* with more than 1-3 covers. Of course, I could always go in easy mode and grind the nodes there, but I'd rather not do that, since it'll only make the essential nodes harder once I have Rags.

You only need Rags to beat those Essential nodes? What about your main placement, threatened without Essentials?
Then I would definitely grind easy - especially closer to the end of a refresh when the points are bigger. Rags is buffed 90 levels and he has a lot of health to tank for mStorm, for example. So with lower levels in Essentials you should be okay (if your non-Essential hard nodes hit 122, Essentials should be 100 or lower).

Yep. I don't have rags at all, so no essentials for me until I hit that 50k reward. I'm #8 in main right now, I'd love to stay in top 50 (more for the 100 HP than two falcons, although those are nice too.) but what with not being able to play the last 6-8 hours, since it'll be an american ending time... idk just how much movement there's going to be towards the end. But any way, I'd really like to beat each node on both easy&hard at least once, for the challenge if nothing else icon_razz.gif

Buut, I just managed this one the second time around, got lucky with the board and only lost a couple thousand health on both Thor and Ares. 450 points to Rags. Whoo! Now on to 126 Patch. Yuck.
  • how does this scaling works? It seems I'm the only one with over level 360 in hard mode? How do I bring it down while still being able to play the game to earn rewards?

Nobody has any clue about it.
Playing too much without losing health seems to be one major point.
The rest is just speculation really.
It seems I'm the only one with over level 360 in hard mode?
No, you're not. Ask reckless about her levels...

Nobody knows, but we all wish we did.

The short answer: no one really knows
The long answer: levels are based on some combination of taking damage, roster level, Spiderman, speed, not grinding, bribing the devs, your astrology sign, what device you play on, whether you prefer dogs or cats, your first pet's name, your favorite TV show and your Flappy Bird highscore

Good luck! If that helps, my main placement is barely moving at all. Of course, the last hours are the most active, but if you're close to top 10, top 75 shouldn't be a concern. Not sure about top 50, but imo pretty good chances.

Thanks! Just cleared that last node with Patch, at the third attempt and with boosters, using mStorm, but whatever. Extended the match beyond what was necessary, just so I don't finish at full HP. In the time it took me to win it, it had climbed from being worth 300 points to 500, so it got me Rags directly. I think I'll leave the essentials to accumulate points for a while though.

This PvE has been the best for me thus far - I managed to get all the required characters to play the essential nodes in all subs for the first time ever, my roster is finally strong enough for decent points in both normal and hard *and* I have a chance at a two cover reward tier! I am a bit bitter that this happened during the event in which they nerfed the iso reward and tbh I'm rather burned out by the game and the scaling - it's better than the Hunt was, with nodes climbing up to 150-200, but not by much, if you account for the fact that the team compositions are harder, with fewer goon squads and more difficult hero enemies.
  • I just wiped out 7 teams on patch who was being pumped green by a goon in node 7 T_T
the time that I tried to use loki as counter, there was not a single black match on the entire board for the whole game
  • Hulk with 5 black has been a godsend for me. Just throw that old boy in front of all the damage and watch the sparks fly.
  • ^^ my buddy told me this exact same thing... Too bad I don't have hulk at 5 black. I just received my first one from reaching 3000 in the season.

If you don't have a stunner, try Rags, mStorm and whatever third of your liking. Rags should tank for mStorm while she's collecting 5 red and some green for Lightning Strike. They will collect 9 green for Patch very fast as the bot feeds both Patch and Loki. Watch out for black though. Try to collect as much AP for yourself as possible, including EAP if there's nothing better. Allow Patch to unleash Rage on Ragnarok, you don't care if he dies. After that start the mStorm combo: Mistress - Thorned Rose - Lightning - etc. Hailstorm with powerful strike tiles makes short work of enemies too. Try to not make any turns with enemy strike tiles present. Would be good if you took Cap (either) to overwrite any surviving enemy strike tiles or someone with spammable abilities to utilize the AP and friendly strike tiles. But a stunner to stun Loki in time would be best, even mBW would work.
  • Wow, those enemy combinations are just crazy. High levels too. I haven't even been grinding and I can barely win a game against any of the essential notes. The starting note is "deadly" with levels ~160. The essential ones are ~100-120.

15-20 minutes = completely wiped and no more health packs... *ggwp*

    ^ Mine is 361-362

I wanted to ask something. My main placement is barely moving (#11 currently), alliance top 250 is in the bag and that's the cover range, so all good here as well.
Would it be a good idea to skip the rest of the event entirely? The only thing I have left to do is to play Essentials once or twice, so 6-12 games total. I don't expect to fall out of top 50 though and I do want my personal scaling to lower, just not sure what else I can do, been trying not to heal during matches, making sure to take damage, completely wiping sometimes, etc. The entry node for Normal still went up from 195 to 212 (was 214 back on the first day of the event) and Hard stayed at 222. I do not want this to carry over, so maybe not even playing during the last two refreshes can help? I could wipe some more for good measure.
Not to mention that level 246 oBW, level 272 Devil Dino fed green and level 258 Hood are not my idea of fun opponents, lol.

There's one permanent way to get rid of horrible scaling - quit the game and delete it from your computer/mobile device and move on to another game.

A temporary solution will suit me fine for now, although I admit that approach is opportunistic. Unless the game becomes truly unplayable (pay HP to enter ANY event, for example), I'm willing to stick around.
