I got Davecazz in my bracket. For a second I thought about bemoaning my luck, but now I'm quietly celebrating that fact that PvE scores aren't taken into consideration. Did he unlock some secret subs to get that score?

Nemek played a joke on him... told him if he gets first in every sub he'll unlock a secret prize... a fully covered Nick Fury.

At this point we don't have the heart to tell him icon_cry.gif
Actually, I think he was jealous of my PVE MMR. He thinks all-395 nodes is a *good* thing.

Found dlaw008 in my shield bracket this morning. So that means we have at least 1 5DV (Knyghtmare), 1 Django (dlaw), 1 Shield (me), and 1 unalligned guy with crazy-high scores (Flat Affect).

I thought my PvE mmr got added to my season score, was trying for level 600 foes.

I hope I can get my fury now

    May 18th I should think?
It runs for 20 more days and 20 hours, so as always with big events, a 6am finish for Europe.

One could argue the finish time for probably the biggest even yet matters the least. Most points are locked and if you are into shield hopping on shield training then I guess you can do a last 3 day push, does not sound awesome at all. I feel like D3 finally tricked me into joining an elite tourney.

Thanks folks, I forgot that it's not even 31 days long.
  • Davecazz and Lycra in my bracket, will be fun watching them fighting for win. I'll comfortably take the 3rd place with no stress icon_e_wink.gif

Btw. If I were mid-tier but dedicated player, I'd seriously consider skipping first tourney during the 2nd Season, just to get a bracket without all the hardcore players. Though top1 rewards aren't worth it, I guess.

I did suggest that in alliance chat but I quickly came to the realisation that you would be screwing over your alliance by doing so. and that's not very nice icon_e_sad.gif

I was strongly considering it, but decided that picking up my first Red Gold Thor (and getting out of cover cap at 41) was more important to me.

im almost to my 10 pk heroic progression award.....good times
  • Ok, I'm seeing more people in my bracket now.

I'm in the same one with Acilbalik231, Flash12385 of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Fruzby.

A lot of the high-rankers I'm seeing, though, appear to have gotten there by grinding the simulator instead of high PVP finishes.

Those guys will likely drop quite a bit over the next 2 weeks.

I was so hoping I would land in an easy bracket where I could just get 1100 point in order to place. I'm lucky that Lycra mentioned me because I wasn't paying attention to who was in my bracket.

Here's to a good match you guys

I wonder if this means that in Nick's release tourney we'll be minus the purple cover in the reward structure. Or if we'll have a chance to double up on that skill. I'd love to come out of that tourney with a 1/1/2 4* character (yeah... well, I wouldn't do that, but I'm sure someone would be able to).

I'm guessing he'll just be worked into the regular rotation as a top PVP prize. They've generally been pretty stingy with 4*s.
I'm digging back to like page 3 of this thread (b/c I missed a lot over the weekend), but Ice said this is only a teaser, not his release tourney. For the IW release, you could end up with her at 1/1/1. So if they do the same thing for Nick's release tourney, that would give an extra purple cover to some people, allowing for a 1/1/2 at his "official" release.

I would add that they are actually not that stingy with the 4*s at all. Sure you have to get 1st to get a 4* but once you can achieve that, the 4*s are the easiest characters to make cover complete.

  • The real prize here is the alliance cover - a few 10-packs more or less isn't going to push anyone to the next level. I've got two people shield hopping at the top of the sim in my individual bracket, and I don't plan to do anything to try and catch them. If you focus on contributing to your alliance score consistently, you'll get a decent bonus at the end of the month and hopefully a Fury too. I will not be dropping thousands of HP to try and knock one of the uber-shielders off the individual top spot. Don't spend Elite tourney levels of HP to get non Elite-tourney levels of prizes, folks. Happy to grab my Fury and a few 10-packs for my diligence.

So Friday at 9pm pacific, 12am eastern I assume? Sucks, I was hoping for a sunday end because I work nights during the week.

It's just crazy to me that people are shielded in an event that ends 3 weeks from now. I am usng the simulator to play matches when I'm bored and nothing else. I'm just shooting for the progression rewards mainly.
  • I figure - given that I'm at about 1200 points - if I aim to go up 100 points a day I'll stay enough behind the pack not to run into monster sized opponents and still have a buffer to get that last cover, which is the only one I really need. I'm not even going to contemplate shielding until I know where I am regarding overall placement, which probably won't be clear for another couple weeks, and can figure out if my training placing can affect it, which I won't know until a couple of days from the end.
