    Just got my first 12th place finish in the hood lightning round. Oh how I wish I hadn't goofed on the last one. Setting up a tank team to collect the losses in other rounds works.

    Does tanking work for you pretty well? Also when do you do it? Does it have to be in the same tourney or can i tank in the simulator to get a hidden ELO down?

    Here's what I've been doing. If I've got the seed teams with lvl 1-2 characters on my queue, I'll beat the seed team worth 27 pts with my main group then beat the weak seed team worth 23 with a group of level 6 unleveled guys. This ensures that you show up on peoples queues as your weak team and you make exactly 50 pts for the standard token.

    If I don't have the seed teams, I throw enough matches with my cannon fodder until low teams show up.

    It mostly works but when you start winning it cancels the effect and you have to pray at the end you stay under the radar. Just now, i barely missed the doom cover. Someone retaliated for 40pts with 2min to go and I fell from 14 to 41 in one shot. I ended up with a diabolical token that turned out to be the exact same Loki cover as last night. Still got a hood cover tonight so I can't get too upset.

    Oh and your matchmaking rating is global. So it carries over to other PvP events.

    Before I had C. Storm I used to use Hawkeye Classic and Modern Widow. If you have a decent Modern Storm, I'd include her too. With goons, it's not about doing crazy damage, but rather stopping/destroying their countdown tiles.

    I stayed at 561 for Fearless Defenders. I'm at 236 for Best There Is right now.

    Are people joining late to The Best there Is for brackets? We are high on the event, but A3betterman has 500 right now, im at 300, and with Altlovers score thats 1/2 the guild points in 3 people.

    I've decided to open the next slot due to our recent success. I'm going to delay advertising it.

    If anyone already in the guild has a friend they want in (that are just as active as we have been!) please let me know. I'd like to keep our friends close as possible.

    I really wouldnt worry too much on your end. Your active on the forums and in game. Covers will come. And we are ranked 18th last i check. I wasnt saying it out of anger i was just observing.

    Im off to work now. I have been home for while due to me having gone through surgery.
    Ill still be playing alot tho, mostly in the evenings tho. Also, it means my forum activity will go down but ill still read everything and post, but mostly in the evenings.

    Is there a reason to delay entering this tourney? Does it help shield your score against the onslaught of Patches that are waiting in the wings. I'm doing decent now with my A. Wolverine and I am hoping to at least get to the 500 progression, if not higher, but I'm a little nervous that I'll wake up tomorrow and be knocked down drastically by all those Patches.

    I won a few battles right at the start, then threw up the tank team to rack up a few losses. That's my usual strategy for PVP events - no idea if it helps in terms of overall matchmaking, but I figured it can't hurt. I'll be up in my usual 500-700 range by the time this thing ends.

    There are a couple of reasons to why i think its better to start late yes. The main reason is to avoid the nolifers that crind way too much for my taste. Pvp is mostly about finding a slacker bracket you can win with few points.

    Ill go into more detail about my personal strategies when i come home and have the time.
    They have worked more or less flawlessly for me so maybe it will help you guys aswell.

    Think my problem in the Wolverine PVP is i jumped in way to early. I need to learn to be more patient. On a better note I am seeing a lot of progression the last two days.

    Thanks for investing so much into the alliance Rock. I'm really happy about joining and hope we live up to our end of the bargain. I have another friend who is f2p and very casual but I wouldn't feel right about bringing her in even temporarily unless we were solid on pvp points, desperate for pve points, and I bought the spot myself. Until then, to be fair to everyone else she's just fine on her own. She is the type of personality who wouldn't want to be carried in a competitive game anyway.
