    In other news, the weekend PvP finally started. Thor tourney for more Hood covers. I'll be hanging around for this one and probably put up a pretty good score to get top 5. Need those 2 blues. Also - I love answering questions so hit us up! icon_e_smile.gif

    Ok just for those that like answering questions...in the PvP events I've often read that once you get to around 700 points your basically hanging out a big sign that says "attack me" is that just because the points on offer to anyone who beats you goes up as you have more in the pot or this there some way you can actively target people with higher scores?

    You get more points for attacking people that have more points than you. So if you're at 200 points and somehow pull a 700 point person, it'll likely be worth 50 points to you (i think that's the max.) The 700 range is where you start seeing a lot of maxed out 3* teams, so if you have anything less than that, it makes you a very juicy target for those 3* teams... and even other 2* teams.

    You can't actively select your targets, but the system is supposed to match you against others that have around the same number of points than you (sometimes more or less) AND most importantly based on a hidden statistic... basically the more you win (and how easily you win... I think measured by health left?) the more likely you'll get paired against harder teams. If you lose some matches and get wiped out (not a surrender) this helps manage that... so you'll see people talking about "tanking" in SHIELD sim to lower this hidden statistic. I'm not sure if D3 has confirmed/denied it, but most people think that's how it works.

    So... in summary, if you get to 700+ and you have a 2* team, chances are people will knock you down to the 600 range because you're an easy target compared to others looking to get beyond that range. Shields help manage this, but you have to be smart about when to shield and realistic about what rank you're going for.

    From my best understanding of how PvP works, this is how matchmaking is done (although they tweak things a lot so who really knows for sure): Basically there are 2 ways it finds matches for you (and everyone else too), one is the points "bucket" you are in, and the other is your MMR rating, which is what Sooshi was talking about with tanking etc. So when you first start you can find guys at 200+ points higher than you because they are in your MMR rating range, so the game will find them as matches for you. I'm not sure what all the point buckets are but there seems to be a cutoff at 500 points where people see 2* and above teams, and 700 points where you start seeing mostly 3* teams. There's another cutoff at 900 points which opens you up to be matched for almost anyone, but you can also start seeing guys with scores through the roof (1300+), which will net you 50 points more or less. So, if you are a 2* team and you hit 700, even 3* teams NOT in your MMR range will see you and fight you cause you are an easy target. On top of that the guys in your MMR range but many points lower will see you as a high point target and attack you as well. I remember when I was in 2* land I could never really get past 750 or so without getting attacked relentlessly and needing to shield.

    We finished 58th in Cage Match so good job everyone. If not for the mix up with Mgmoehn and Telis we might have even squeaked another top 50, so apologies for that.
