List of things about MPQ that you were slow to learn

It took me a long time to figure out that the power are ordered in decreasing tile strength. That is, Patch's powers are green/red/yellow, so his color strength is green > red > yellow.0

2. How much fun and informative the d3Forums. I'm not one to use forums for games unless I get stuck.
3. Snipers only put out one tile at a time even when three snipers make up the team. Assassins don't follow that rule.
4. That I could actually be competitive in Featured Events even with my weak roster. Enough that I could earn hero points and expand my roster slots without having to pay real money.
5. Battles against Daken tear me up no matter how much stronger my team is. Still learning this one 6+ strikes tiles hurt.
6. Goons generate ap automatically. I used to think the tiles were based on turn number.
7. How useful modern storm is in the forest/desert with 5 skill in red.
8. Not to sell useful 1* chars because they run lone star events.
9. Lightning rounds with all villain teams are much stronger than they appear. Not so much now with the buff reduced, but it used to be a menace fighting those teams.
would love to know how you manage MMR in PvE. we have a lot of theories but nothing seems to fit exactly with the results0 -
Already mentioned by others, but for the first few months I didn't realize there was a "skip" button (it used to be a tiny thing compared to it's current state), and I also didn't realize there was a pause and retreat option. Both things I learned on this forum, which is why it's such a valuable resource for any serious player0

It took me a while to realize that the events were the meat of the game and not the prologue missions. I held off doing events forever since I was convinced as a newbie I had no business doing them. Only when I learned that I could earn decent rewards even with my then 1* team did the game really suck me in.0

I don't think this is a general rule more than a happy coincidence. BWGS doesn't match her powers properly.0 -

I still didn't know this, until you just said it. Huh.
I also didn't realize about how the events worked. I specifically remember a Black Widow tourney after I had been playing a while and thinking that my puny 1* Widow wouldn't stand a chance against people using 2 or 3 star Widows, so I didn't enter at all. It was later that I learned I should just enter everything, even lightning rounds because, hey, 70 ISO is 70 ISO.0 -

Hmmm, I just went to my roster to check, here's what I got:
Patch - yes
Magneto classic - red/blue matches order, his third strongest color is yellow but he doesn't have a yellow power.
Thor 3* - yes
Hulk - yes
Punisher - yes
Spiderman - no
The Hood - yes
Psylocke - yes
Ares - yes
OBW - yes
Moonstone - yes
Wolverine 2* - yes
Black Panther - yes
Thor 2* - yes
GSBW - no
Modern Storm - yes
IW - yes
Daken - no
Classic Storm - yes
IM40 - no
Daredevil - yes
Ragnarok - yes (green/red is tied, at least for me)
Dr. Doom - no
Juggernaut - yes
Modern Hawkeye - no
Wolverine X-Force - yes
Loki - no
Magneto MN - yes
Captain America - yellow is highest which matches, red/blue tied because my is too low (level 6) so can't tell if one is supposed to be higher than other.
Bagman - Same issue, top power matches, other two are tied due to low level
Bullseye - yes
Modern Black Widow - too low to tell (level 1, they're tied).
So it is not always true but it's also not just random chance, since the chance that their color strength matches the displayed order is 1 out of 6. The only characters with 3 powers that matches their color strength that do not follow that order is Spiderman, IM40, and Modern Hawkeye.0 -
1. could'nt figure out for the life of me why only 2 of my 3 characters were assigned tiles.
2. selling Thor and OBW covers left and right cause i though the one star team of iron man, storm and black widow were the bees knees and all i'd ever need.
3. wondering why the heck i couldn't max out their powers 15/150 -

IM40 has the same colors, but his power order doesn't confirm either0 -
Were there always events? I feel like when I started playing there was only the prologue...0

I just realized a week ago (been playing since December) that environment tiles had two different levels of build up you could use....
Not that I've ever accumulated enough envirotiles to get to the second level but it was still shocking at the time0 -
Just now I gained an appreciation for low AP powers and strike tiles. At first I was always trying to max out the power with the most damage, could damage multiple enemies or stole AP. but now that I use spamable powers with strike tiles, my matches end a lot sooner and I can go up against tougher opponents.
The other thing that didn't click right away was the strategic difference between strike and attack tiles. attack tiles are nice but they only get included at the end of the turn while strike tiles get included on every single little hit.0 -

I started mid-October and there were events (first Thor tournament). Pretty sure there were at least a couple tournaments before that, too.0 -
I thought classic mag was **** for a while. I thought his blue had to be dropped on blue tiles0

Action Points/Ability Points. It's pretty standard video game jargon but I can see how it would be indecipherable if you didn't know it already
I can die in peace now that I know!
Seriously, thank you for telling me what AP stands for.0 -
That you can turn off training and keep those starter's HP that the game makes you spend on classic Hawkeye and modern Black Widow 'Thank you', devs.
That you can still make enough HP to expand your roster while being completely F2P. Thank you, devs.
That running 3 support characters who don't even cover the full rainbow (mStorm, mBW and cHawkeye) isn't the best idea in the world, and if you manage to beat Prologue with that, you still need to learn what tanks are and why you want them.0 -
The difference between tanks and tanking. When I used to ask for advice about LRs, it really frustrated/confused me that people seemed to be telling me to just take high health characters into the 3 rounds prior to the one I wanted to win.0
