Looks like there will be a chance for some nostalgia here. The Three-stars are a lot more useful than the fourstars....0

I might actually champion since I'm getting 3 covers from the last PvE, he'll probably be very useful in this event and Jean Grey covers as champion rewards are a great reason to go ahead.
For this event's progression rewards I'm targeting:
sub 1: 12k (EDIT: final sub 1 score = 12308, 5 suboptimal clears, 2 essentials)
sub 2: 15k (EDIT: final sub 2 score = 14767, 5 suboptimal clears, 2 essentials).
sub 3: 16k (EDIT: final sub 3 score = 16004, 4 suboptimal clears + 3 hard nodes, 2 essentials. Total: 43079)
Should be feasible with about 4 suboptimal clears per day and 2 essential characters. (EDIT: after my sub 2 results, it looks like 5 clears are necessary).
Some quotes from last time we had this event:madsalad wrote:God, this Heroic is kicking my teeth in. I entered the last sub with a little over half the points required for full progression. This will be the first one in a while that I didn't not get the 25 CP progression reward. The limited roster this time around basically hit all of my non-championed 2* and 3*s except for Patch, SWitch, LCap, Mags, Thor and Storm. This has been brutal and not fun at all.Vhailorx wrote:It does feel like trolling to win 3x crit boosts after beating one of the super cheap final nodes (carnage + red generating goons, hood + 2x muscle, or kingpin + bullseye + muscle).frostCoH wrote:The final node with Kingpin is absolutely unbeatable with my roster. I have tried gone through 10 health packs. I refuse to spend HP on this absurd event.Tatercat wrote:If you think Doc Ock was bad, wait until you see Kingpin + Muscle + *2 Bullseye at the end of the 2nd sub.
If you target Kingpin, the Muscle gets out strike tiles for absurd damage and that's before the tommy gun hits.
If you target the Muscle, KP finger pokes you death as the Muscle feeds him yellow for Maggia Pawns.
And Bullseye slows everything down with shield tiles.
So... have fun!0 -

Taking a big fat pass on this one. Heroics are usually bad but this is a dumpster fire, and that dumpster is full of poop.0

Beast is actually doing most of the work this time around, his blue special tiles pack quite a punch and his green is pretty good.
Blade is really useful for the 1st sub as well.0 -
Xzasxz wrote:sinnerjfl wrote:Blade is really useful for the 1st sub as well.
Yes he totally is just make sure to match reds with strike tiles before dock ock does. I wiped three hardest rounds in a row without health packs with just Blade in my team.0 -
My roster's first page in the first sub:
- produces special tiles with blue and yellow, and green power depends on it
- produces CDs with green and protection tiles with yellow
- produces a green CD or attack tiles with black
- produces attack tiles with black
- produces CDs with green passive and steals assault and protect tiles with black
- is all about special tiles
- mostly useless at 0/1/0
So basically the only character I have that has a decent matchup against Doc Oc is Daredevil (ugh). This first sub has been... fun and challenging.0 -
Xzasxz wrote:sinnerjfl wrote:Blade is really useful for the 1st sub as well.
Ill still take Blade considering the other choices, the attack tiles from Doc Ock are annoying but manageable. Blade comes out on top damage wise, especially if you can fire his purple (it just melts enemies).0 -

As this game is greatly luck dependant, this can happen. But was it thanks to Blade, or the two other chars?0 -

It is thanks to whole combo have used it in the hardest nodes. It doesn't matter even if you take a few of reds, there will drop new ones anyway and when you fire his purple, it's goodbye to enemies.0 -
Based on the quotes above my natural question is--what do I need to do to tank this event in the most optimal fashion?0
-
I will miss Blade in the next Sub. His passive has speeded up those annoying fights against Venom.
Besides: Does anyone already know who will be the reinforcement for Sub2?0 -
I've suffered instant kills from DocOck manipulation having just a few special tiles on the board. Game have tendency to match them all with maximum possible damage. So I have given up Blade. As I do not have any usable 4 my choice is limited. Yet I managed to clear hard nodes with 3 with very limited use of . Must admit, that Maggia Thug, spamming damage every single turn, was the biggest threat.0

Use Blade with Squirrel girl. Squirrel girl makes strong defense and Blade strong attack. You can also fire Squirrels green and her passive trigger benefits from Blades strike tiles. That is how you don't lose so much health either and on top of that if third character is OBW to heal or DD to stun... Well you become pretty overwhelming.0 -

Been using the not-a-combo team of DD, Blade, and Torch. With DD I get enough to clear out Doc's tiles and just try to kill him first. DD's isn't bad either, the stun is good enough so I can get and Torch can do his thing. So far I haven't wiped with that team yet. Those three are all champed for me.0

Xzasxz wrote:Seqriously? vs mean tons of attack files for the enemy. Blade is definitely the character NOT to use IMO.
Blade, Beast and Loki just ran through the hard nodes, and firing KYEC always ended the match very quickly. They were beaten, battered and bruised by the time I cleared the last node, but I didn't need to use a health pack.0 -
Mediocre characters vs. Lvl 220+ Venom + Doc Ock + a Maggia Thug spamming 3000+ damage every turn?
This event is utter, utter toilet.0
