Hey, Bodyrott and HiDieBye, we have been discussing recruiting new members for the alliance. You two seem to be the most casual players in the alliance. Do you think you can play more to help us meet our goals? As everyone else has said, we're not looking for the hardest of hardcore. We just want our alliance to be competitive.

Also, I agree with 500 points being the minimum goal. I also think that we should use the forum to communicate larger points, instead of the chat.
  • I like everything that has been said here. I wanted to give you all thumbs up but it would not let me. I think 500 is a good goal. Like others i have a horrible BP at level 15 and all my opponents are 3 141's. Lucky that the AI sucks. I can usally pick-up a hundred points or so before I run out of Health Packs, and so far the missions in the PvE are not scaled high enough (shhhhhh) to knock my health down too fast.
  • Sounds good, I know I've been lagging a lot more since webhead is gone.

I agree with everything being said. I don't post much in the forum or in-game chat but im a regular lurker in both.

Ginding PVE and placing high in PVP can be difficult. Is there any consensus on which to favour? Generally I prefer PVP (hate fighting for 20HP in PVE) but I really want to charge for the 3* Storm covers in the current PVE.

I've been running my A team in PVP, and the running whatever the minimum team I can get by with in PVE. For example, I've been running 2* wolvie and 2* storm in a lot of these nodes. I just try to shuffle some benchwarmers out for that. But you're right, there's no way around the **** grind aspect. If sanity is the problem I'd go with whatever event nets you the best yield, or whatever helps the alliance out the most.

I'm hoping D3 will find some way to let the pressure off on seasons a bit.
  • Honestly they could solve a lot of the tension by making the Fury rewards extend to the top 200 or 250.

The pressure is basically off then and you can just play the game.
  • Still recruiting? Typically finish with 500-700 in most PVPs, sometimes push higher if it's a cover I really want. Almost always top 50 minimum PVE; sitting at 5900 in season II currently. Like my alliance but tired of missing out on covers because of dead weight.

ETA: currently in alliance "Just Duck It" if you want to check my roster.
  • Yes we are still recruiting. You can apply in game.

I sent him a PM as well, in case he misses the thread replies.
  • So... My game has been screwy all day today. I just logged on again and was able to play my first node of PVE after which I received my daily reward. It told me I should join an alliance to earn more. I searched Pax Romana and it said that I'll still in the alliance, yet my game says otherwise.

Not sure what I want you guys/gals to do with this info... just wanted to let you know what was up.

So, I'm hoping that this issue will resolve before the Stardust PvP ends, I really want that Blue and Red.

I have not been able to play the PvE today either (aside from that one node), so I'm not sure what to say. I will grind a bit once the issue resolves.

    Sorry. icon_e_sad.gif

Game says you are still in the Alliance, so no worries on that front.

Yeah it cleared up about twp hours ago. Thanks though.
  • So the TV series based on the comic I stole this alliance's name from looks like it is moving ahead. It will be a Sci-Fi mini-series, which are generally pretty good (Battlestar Galactica started that way, Tin Man, Dune).

Also, to address something earlier in this thread... Hickman confirmed on Twitter today that he finally got all of SHEILD written and it is in the hands of the artist. 10 pages or so to do and then we finally get to see the completion of that epic series.

I'm fixin to go pick Pax Romana up tomorrow. If you want a cool bit of nerd trivia, my local comic store is owned (partially) by Neil Gaiman. Clearly he doesn't need any money. They don't advertise and I think they're only open on Wednesdays.
  • So this sucks but...

Life is getting a bit bonkers of late and I'm having to scale back my play time. I'm still going to be playing, but not nearly as consistently as I have been. Should be back to normal in a couple of weeks, but for a bit, I'm going to be a lame slacker.

Sorry guys... also doesn't help that I seem to be getting a bit of summer flu... which is awesome!
  • As of the last PvP event I've run into a somewhat frustrating issue with my Match Making Ranking (MMR). I wasn't sure if it was a fluke or if I was put into what folks like to call MMR hell. Most of my opponents are typically 141 or fairly close. An example would be the 141 Thor, Magenteo, and 80 Storm which crushed my 23 storm, 102 Daken, 140 Patch just a few minutes ago. Normally, I could run a bunch of lightning rounds and fix the problem; however, according to IceX the way tanking works now the player has to lose over a period of time in order for your ranking to drop. I suspect this is a result of staying under rank 50 in every PvP tournament that we've had since March of this year. Furthermore, I have been shielding either 8 or 24 hours and healing myself in the prologue which probably has win to loss ratio is extremely out of balance. I find it somewhat ironic that you get punished for winning...

There are several options for fixing this problem.

    1) Withdrawal $500 and buy my way to freedom. While tempting after a frustrating loss, its probably not the best option and may result in a divorce.

    2) Quit and do something else not productive. While again tempting after I've blown through all my health packs after a streak of losses, I have way to much time and money invested in this game to quit now! I'm going to stay for the long haul. It's probably the only thing I'll be able to do as a new Dad

So lets talk about more productive solutions

    3) I believe the best way to solve this debacle is to just lose. I'll need to face the 141 opponents, do the best I can, accept the loss or strategic/lucky win and move on. Unfortunately, as a result, I have no idea what this is going to do to my total events points. Obviously, the goal will be to hit 400 - 500 point range until I can work up enough ISO to get another 1 or 2 characters to 141. It is my intention to wait to shield until the last 3 hours of the event so I don't lose to many points in the feeding frenzy at the end. I'll be a prime target with my lower level guys.

I just wanted to be up front with you guys as I won't be able to put as many points up on board and may not even hit the 500 mark. The goal is to get over this hump and start producing at a 700 - 1000 range again at a time yet to be determined. If you guys have any reservations or want to offer suggestions I am certainly open to them.

    Humble Regards,
    Diz

Diz, I think your plan is pretty solid. In the end, any productive player is going to run into the all-141 MMR wall eventually, and the way to get past that is by leveling more dudes. Unfortunately, hitting that rough transition point is much rougher now that seasons are a thing, and you can't pick and choose which PvP events you want to make a hard run at.
