Gratz everyone! Strong finishes from Schi, Stark27, and Bishopza.
Good job in the lightning rounds for Stark and j12601 I've been tanking in those even though I could use more Doom and Loki covers.
I wasn't going to push in Fearless Defenders, but I had a lazy bracket so went ahead and charged into #1 at about 800 pts.
Unstable Iso-8 is Episode 1 I think. It does run a little different from the other PvE events. Lot's of goon fights in the beginning, but I think by the end we get full villain nodes. Since there's only one event the scaling is ramping up pretty fast. Fortunately, the buffed characters are ones most people have. I guess that's fortunate even though it means more scaling since most people will be able to compete. Rubberbanding is in effect, so right now I've been doing 1-2 clears and just staying in top 20. Will need a big push towards the end of the of the event to maximize position.
I'm running 125 Patch, 110 Punisher, and 85 OBW. Although I hear C Storm, MN Mags, OBW is a strong combo too. 2* Thor is powered up so he fits in well. Lots of options
Best There Is has more LazyCap so I will be going hard in that one too0 -

I could do with ANY of the featured villains covers except Hood, but as luck wud have it, I have drawn two hood covers which I have no use for....
I thought I cud at least luck out and get some 3* covers from Recruit Tokens but since the last changes (3* covers no longer giving HP), I don't believe I have ever received any 3* from Recruit Tokens anymore0 -

I've gotten pretty lucky lately with recruit tokens after going through a long dry period. I pulled a Yellow Xforce, Black Hulk, Black Panther, and a Psyclocke all in the last week or so from event tokens . I think most of my Hood covers came from tokens, lol. I know how frustrating it is to work hard in a LR to get a token and then not be the one you need. I tried the hero LR a few weeks back needing Hulk and GSBW and ended up with more spiderman or patch or punisher all of which I've had covered for a while...0 -
Just when I said I couldn't for the life of me draw a 3* from standard recruit tokens, the first standard recruit token I just open gave me a green patch. Yay!
Looks like I gotta complain in this forum to get some luck yeah. Haha0 -
Unstable ISO event is weird. I hit most of the new nodes today, save for the venom one and the deadly one. May try them again as they've actually scaled down a bit. Sitting at 56th in that, don't plan on playing much each day, just once per node except for the essential ones which again will probably get a triple hit. If conjecture is correct it seems hitting once or twice a day once each might be the ideal thing to do, then trying to hit 13-14 hours before it ends, and then 1-2 before it ends on Sunday night. The threshold rewards look like they're going to be tough unless points start going up as the event goes on. My bracket is being led by someone with 14k, I'm at 12k. At that pace I can't see too many people getting much more than the 66666 reward. 93333 lazy cap yellow is going to be tough, and red cap is out of the question.0
-
Leader in my bracket has 14.4k. I'm in 4th a few hundred points back. I had to hit all the nodes twice and the essentials 3x to get there. I wouldn't mind the yellow Xforce, but I'm not sure how hard I'm gonna push. The base points didn't change this round so unless base points go up in the next rounds we're not getting the lazy cap progressions. The event seems bugged. I have the Jugg/venom node still but some ppl have a yelena/daken/goon in the lower right instead.0
-
Interesting, the Yalena/Daken node magically appeared on my game this morning.0
-
Mine corrected itself this morning, too. I did it once to get the bonus ISO, but I'm going to wait to clear more nodes until after work after the new set appears.0

Early patch notes in the General Discussion thread:
http://www.d3pforums.com/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=5717
Looks like some UI and Alliance enhancements. The main one for us in the in game Alliance Chat. Can't wait to see how that works. Hopefully, it's like a message board and messages hang around for a while so those not online at the time will see them. Also, we'll be able to see each other's progress in events. This will come in extremely handy.0 -
Still only about 1000 points separating the top 30 or so in my bracket for unstable ISO. Was feeling fairly confident about being able to push on Sunday for the finish for it, but then realized it actually finishes on Monday. That's slightly tougher since I'll lose a refresh by being at work, but we'll see how it goes.
Best there is is horrible for me. I have a maxed 2 star Wolverine, but patch is only 1/1/0, and no xforce. So 2/3 nodes can't be played. Also ended up dying ridiculously a couple of times to unfortunate cascades that went from my opponent having maybe 6-10 assorted AP to killing my team in the next turn with abilities. Ugh. Yeah it's nice having a super charged wolverine, but so does every other team, and since mine ends up owning all of the tiles most of the time, takes a ton of damage.
I'll put in some time on it tomorrow night probably with some better use of my health packs.
Alliance chat looks like it should be cool.0 -
I don't think missing a refresh is going to be an issue. The main thing is being able to play the last 2 hours of the event with full stacks on your nodes. If you can maintain a top 200 position going into the last day I think you'll be in range to swoop in at the end with a high multiplier on the nodes. In fact, you might even be better off coasting Sunday night/Monday morning to fall behind enough to get a 10x multiplier on your stacks when you start 2hr before the event ends.
Powered up Wolvie is a beast! My 125 Patch is going to have a hay day once I jump in. Teamed with OBW for double dipping strike tile damage can you say let the mayhem begin Throw in CMags and those extra turns will shred the opposing team in no time. 2* Wolive shouldn't be bad either. As long as he can survive the hits that take him below half health the matching yellow should give him a nice hit point boost. Definitely a bloody event.0 -

I'm using your recommendation for Best There Is. I'm running LVL85 2* Wolvie/ LVL77 Patch with OBW n LvL 102 CMag, I must say its quite enjoyable, lots of attack style, defense is a problem though. Nothing a few health packs occasionally can't fix.
I've put up a 8 hour shield, currently holding at #5 with 772 points, hope can stay in Top 10 (cut off for my bracket ATM is 733), though I'm not really incline to level up lazyCap even with the incoming covers.
Rewards for First Avenger is nice though, need some GSBW covers!0 -
I'm getting ready to jump into Best There Is. Alliance is at #34 so a top 50 finish for the alliance should be a given. Good luck on your top 10 finish!
I have a tank team in First Avenger. I already have GSBW fully covered so I'll probably aim for top 25 to help the alliance and get hero points.
Pushed to #1 in Unstable ISO8 last night and still pretty high today. Probably won't hit the nodes again until the new ones come out at midnight (assuming that's when they'll change). Gotta focus on BTI tonight0 -
Super stoked on the upcoming alliance chat, hope it works well. UncleSam, not sure if you saw ICE's response to your inquiry about commader-ful alliances but he said that it can be resolved with a customer service ticket. Soon we will be able to track inactive players, give them a chance to defend their inactivity in the chat, and if we don't get a response in a reasonable amount of time, start recruiting for more active players and try to push for some top 10 finishes. I mean, who wouldn't want to be part of the Night Watch?!
I was bummed last night when I realized that I missed the 12 hour window on the PvE event cause my life/wife got in the way. My strategy was originally to play with 13 hours left before the node switch, let 12 hour refresh kick in and then play again with 1 hour remaining. Once I missed the window last night, I figured I'd experiment by not playing at all until this morning and see just how powerful that rubberband can be. Sure enough, played all the nodes for the first time this morning, ended up in 3rd place.
I've been running ** Thor as a staple cause his buff makes him a beast, cMags cause his blue helps extend turns and cover up countdown timers (or his red to shake up the board if I don't have enough blue), and rounding it out with either cStorm or OBW. FOr the Steve Rogers required, I just go with Thor and cMags.
As for the progression rewards, the later ones seem impossible to hit now but all missions' base points are going to increase throughout the event, so it's gonna be a point bonanza for the last 24 hours. Hopefully that means I can go to the beach this weekend and play some volleyball while the rubberband works its magic.
As for the wolvie PvP, wasn't really gonna go for it, but since I couldn't play the PvE nodes while waiting for rubberbanding, I figured I'd at least go for the ** token. Lucky me - I pulled a yellow Patch! He still needs a lot of covers/ISO before I can actually use him tho (2/1/3 now). Sitting just over 500 points right now, will probably make a push later tonight for a top 25 finish.0 -
I didn't know how long it was going to take to get alliance tools so I created a spreadsheet earlier this week to snapshot everyone's covers/levels periodically. I was going to use it to track progress of alliance members so I could identify inactive players. I don't expect people to be as active as me, but I needed a way to determine if someone goes AWOL for a long time. We are a great alliance and I want to continue being great. I love seeing forum responses and progress reports on the forums. It shows me that you guys are having fun and contributing to our success. Keep it up!
With the upcoming alliance chat I hope to see more involvement from the other members. If there are some inactive members we'll give them a chance to respond. This isn't just my alliance. It's you all''s as well and you'll get out it what you put in0 -
Just threw up a shield in TBI at 604 points. Currently that's good enough for 10th in my bracket but that likely won't hold for 10th. I'd be content with it staying for top 25 though. Hopefully don't have to break and play it out up until the buzzer. Though unless it looks like I can grab and keep a top 10 at the last minute, or am in danger of dropping out of top 50 and missing a cap cover I think I'll likely leave it be.
Looks like we're in a comfortable position to be top 50 on this as an alliance so yay yellow cover. It will be nice to get a few more levels on him for the cap event.0 -
600 pts should be good for top 25. Not sure it'll hold up for top 10 though. It's a good contribution for the alliance it's a good spot to be sitting since you can make the decision whether it's worth a few more matches to get top 10 or settle for top 25/50. Good luck!0
-
Shielded at 621, currently 17th in my bracket.
Good luck everyone!0 -
Yeah, I've dropped six spots, but I'm still in a decent position I think. I'll monitor along the way but having to possibly reshield to stay top 25 versus top 50 seems a waste given the rewards being a difference of 1000 iso and 50 hp.
Edit:
Ooh... someone just attacked through my shield and I won and went up 22 points. Back into 13th. Huzzah.0 -
Just shielded in the Wolvie PvP at 766, currently good for 4th. Don't even really want lazy cap, I think I'm just a cover junkie.
I suppose they will help to compete in the new lazy cap PvP where we can win some GSBW covers which I def DO need.
On a side note, did you guys notice that the nodes didn't dissapear today at 9am PST like they did the previous two days? Do you think they might dissapear tonight at 9pm instead? I think I'm gonna play them down at 8:30pm just in case.0
