I see we're doing well... Currently #2 Alliance on the hard simulation and we're moving up on the overall event!!0
-
Who's excited about about the Lord of Thunder event? Do you guys need more Patch covers?
It's also a chance to buy a modern Thor if you don't have one. He's going to be the featured hero in the last Simulator round.
Also, we're 19/19 and need only one more to join for a full alliance! We're already ahead of a lot of 20 person alliances so good job everyone
I hope everyone is having fun. I know I am. I'm looking forward to the next episode whenever that comes out. I heard there's going to be 20 some episodes and we've only had 4 so far so there's a lot to look forward to.0 -
I do wish I have more Patch covers, seeing how strong offensively he is, but I don't think I have a strong enough lazythor to make a top 5 spot for this PVP.
What wud ur preferred patch cover be? I would be more inclined to b a 5/5/3.0 -
If the alliance finishes in the top 100, we will all get a yellow Patch cover. So, even if you do not have a strong Thor, go ahead and play to whatever rank you can0

It is possible to still do well with a low level Thor, but you'll get attacked more so top 5 will be a challenge. It depends on where your MMR is and the matchups you get. I'm not sure how many of our alliance members are familiar with tanking (putting in low level teams to purposely lose) to lower their ratings. I usually use the lightning rounds to put in a scrub team that gets beat on. The trick is to load up the LR as soon as it starts to get seed teams (those teams with level 1s and 2s on them. Beat them with your low level team and let the mayhem commence. Tanking helps so you don't end up facing higher level teams all the time and you don't show up to high level teams. Sometimes I'll tank the beginning of a normal PvP then when I'm ready to actually play it I'll use my A team.
As for Patch build, I went 5/3/5 and I'm happy with it. I usually use someone else's red or even at 3 it does pretty good damage. 5/5/3 builds are good also. You just need to make sure Patch owns all his colors which means being highest level on your team. Usually those going with a 5 red build will go 3/5/5, but I think Patch is good with anything. The thing about 5 green is you need a way to mitigate it since it gives the opponent 6 strike tiles to kill you with also. Either you used it near the end of the match or wait until purples are lined up to get rid of some of the tiles before they can be used against you.0 -
Hey congrats on your performance guys! I've seen you've been kicking **** the last couple of days and it wont take long until you overtake us at #25 in the overall standings with [19/19]0

Hey guys, I'm thinking about setting up a gaming facebook account to link my game to. Would you guys be interested in setting up a group to share the facebook rewards?0
-
Hey all,
Just wanted to say hi and thanks for having me. We are now at 20/20. Yay.0 -
Greetings all,
I was reading through posts for open alliance positions and wanted to see if there was roster room available in Night Watch. I am in the 2* to 3* transition and play daily (31 roster spots; some covers for pretty much everyone...). Currently in top 10 for my PvE bracket and am usually competitive in the PvP brackets as well (though I have to admit that I haven't figured out a good LR strategy yet given my lack of a maxed Rag or C. Mags....).
Thanks for your consideration...

J12601, welcome to the alliance and thanks for filling the last slot.
Alaric, we just filled up. Thanks for considering us.0 -

I use my regular FB account. Let me know when you have your game account setup and I'll friend you.0 -
I play through Steam, so no FB rewards for me. If they ever implement a way to link everything (since I'd like to be able to play on my tablet or phone while out), I'd probably be up for it.0

I'm down to share FB rewards, PM me if interested. So stoked on the Patch covers in the Thor PvP, I've had Patch at 1/1/1 for over a month now waiting to get him going. Don't have any Modern Thor covers but was able to tank my MMR down to a low enough level (I use the SHIELD versus in the prologue to tank when LR aren't available) to grind my way up to first place with 772 points before locking in a 24 hr shield yesterday. Used ** Wolvie (5/5/3) lvl 85 and C.Mags (5/2/3) lvl 86 in the PvP which worked pretty well. Stayed #1 for most of yesterday but woke up this morning to see I have been bumped down to #5
Not sweating tho, just need top 10 to get red and green covers and I know we're gonna get at least top 100 as an alliance, right?!0 -
772 would put you at #1 in my bracket I'm sitting in #4 with 530 points. I would think your score should hold for top 10, but keep an eye on it. Looks like you might have gotten a tough bracket. The alliance should easily take top 100. We're in the mid 20s now which places us well within the 2nd tier of rewards.
I'm excited about Unholy Outlaw! I need me some Panther covers Probably going to join that one tomorrow after Simulator subs end. Need to try to finish top 5 in both. I should be able to finish top 2 in my main as after my clears I usually have #1 with a couple thousand point cushion and a I have a 3/3/3 Thor for the last round.
I keep forgetting about SHIELD Training in the prologue. That's a good place to tank in when LR aren't available.0 -
I wish they'd have a PVP with Hulk as the reward. I've been sitting on 2 black forever. Tokens and earlier Hulk events have helped me build red/green out but I have yet to get a black Hulk from a token. However, with Panther and Thor I guess I don't really need Hulk...0

Sheesh, the leader in my PvP bracket has 911 points. That's friggin' crazy. Still sitting in 5th at 775 (won three battles while shielded for 1 pt each! ).
I hadn't yet started playing the game for the first Hulk event so I missed the boat on that one, he was one of the last *** covers that I pulled. Only have him at 0/1/2 right now so won't be using him for a while. My best guys are C.Mags and Spidey, so if they hit them with the nerf bat I'll be totally screwed.0 -
C Mags and Spidey make a good duo. When the funbalance comes to those two hopefully it won't be too bad.
Wow, 1pt defenses? Must have been a retaliation from someone with less than 200-300 points.0 -

Wow 775 points wud b second in my bracket. Tried my best to place as high as possible, sitting at 615 points now ranked 6 n shielded for 8 hrs. Hopefully that'll b sufficient for top 10 ranking in my bracket.
One question abt tanking: If I deliberately lose pvp/simulator/LR multiple times with a weak team, wud that lower my MMR? Or do I need to beat a seed team using my weak team (to generate retaliations?). Sorry, not very clear abt this idea of tanking.0 -

I think PvP and PvE (Simulator) are separate ratings. Beating seed teams with a low level team allows you to lose without actually having to play. However, if you throw matches on purpose, which sometimes you have to if you're late joining a event or MMR has gotten too high to find a low enough team to barely beat with your low level team, it still works. A loss is a loss. It's just more convenient to beat a seed team with your lowbies and walk away and let the beating commence If you're about to take a break from playing for a while to go do other things like sleep it's not a bad idea to throw a few matches in an event you don't care about.
There's a lot of different ways to do it. Some people like to play into an event up to about 100-200 pts to get some of the rewards then put in a tank team from there. I'm just lazy and don't usually care about the extra rewards from LR and in a normal PvP I'll usually get those 100-200 pt rewards once I actually start playing the event for real so I aim for seed teams since I can put my level 1s in pretty easily.
PVE tanking is a bit different. Theory has it that it's based on the hit points lost so you loosing with a scrub team of level 1s doesn't net you much in the area of tanking as a team of level 60s. Also, it seems to have lost some effectiveness overall. I still do it to help keep my scaling in check but I haven't actually seen levels drop from tanking in Simulator this time around. Maybe it goes into effect between subs though, so banking some tanking time may help when the next round begins. And with community scaling in place you still might not be able to keep node levels under a manageable level.0 -
Have been super busy organizing my wifes thirtieth birthday but still managed to hit second place on thor and shielded up for the rest of the night. (Its midnight in here.) 30 point lead on the third place and 50 on the next unshielded one. So it seems like good placing is on its way. Pretty nice standing considering my mediocre roster. Our alliance is 17th at the moment so it seems nice too.0
