  • Hey, I saw you are recruiting and decided to give it a shot now that the first season is over. I randomly joined my current alliance and we do okay, got Fury and everything but since it's public there's a lot of turnover and chat is pretty much just used to complain about late rewards so I'm looking around the forums to see an alliance where I might fit.

My roster is currently 2* (max OBW, Ares, Thor, CStorm and Wolvie) while most of my 3*s are sitting around with 4-7 covers. I'm still trying to get covers so I aim at Top 25/50 most PvP events, with the random Top 10 when I get lucky with brackets. Finished Season 1 with 11k points but didn't have a max 2* roster at the beginning of the season so scores were a bit lower there. Bit of warning though, events that end midday during the week suck for me, so unless I spend some serious HP on shielding early I won't do too well at those most of the time.

In PvE I try to get the new shiny covers to have the essential character for the next PvE and besides wacky PvE changes I'm doing alright. Not sure how this Sentry event will go but got all 3 covers from the Daken event.

Also in my brief foray into the depths of Stacraft's Wood League I played Terran, so there's that.

Bumping for visibility, Terran Dominion has released two frequently inactive people and we are looking to add two to the roster.

For anyone in Alliance please let the commanders know if you have anyone in mind.

For anyone interested we require daily play but are not cut throat. Some of us push really hard but some are still developing rosters. We expect you to try in every event but obviously people have limits and lives.

Would prefer moderate to high success in both pve and pvp with a two or already into three star roster territory looking to gain Alliance rewards. We finish top 50 in most events, we have a few members out on vacation at the moment though.

Anyone interested please either post here or pm all 4 of the commanders listed on the first page.

A few people messaged me in the past I will be shooting them a pm and give them priority if there's still interest.

We are all nice active people, jerks need not apply.

Yup, I'm one of those with a "developing roster," but I have to thank everyone here, my roster is going the way it should largely because I belong to this fine group of people. I'm finally, slowly, experiencing more success on the PvP end of the game, thanks to the covers we've earned and advise I've picked up on the way. The only thing that sucks for me is in the Hawaii time zone, a lot of events end right when I'm waking up to go to work, or within an hour or two of when I finish work. The overnight part doesn't allow me to effectively defend or make a last minute push many times. I'm not always particularly chatty here or in game, but I'm around a lot. I will continue to play "casually hard," to do my part here. icon_e_smile.gif

No hard feelings: In the past 4 weeks I've been quite busy; as such, my playtime/scores have suffered.

It was cool being in this great alliance: you guys were relaxed, friendly and played hard, which aligned perfectly with my playstyle. Too bad alliances/teams like this are so damn hard to find in other games.

Good luck in all the future events Terran D!

Now... what to do with this banked 800,000 ISO? icon_e_wink.gif
  • No problem I meant to message you and Excelion personally but just got home and just got to the computer, might as well post it here. I like to type my more personal/serious things on a real computer. Spider_Man I would like to thank you for joining early and helping us out with one of those initial slots and I feel we always got along with everyone and you will always have a spot if we get more free slots and you become more active again. I understand you were talking with Bacon Pants a bit in the last few weeks. I did not want to make this call but I have gotten some pm's from various members about activity on the lower end of the bracket and I want to be as fair to most people as possible so with the server issues late last week I thought we would extend it until season one rewards got sent out to everyone as it was abundantly clear our alliance rank was not in any danger.

Thanks again and I wish you well. Keep us in mind in the future, you can probably live the rich life with 800k ISO hah. Buy a piece of land next to Pleefs in Hawaii heh, I wonder how much that ISO is to buy in the shop if you sold it hmm.
  • I think we got slightly more interest than I expected, at this time we will be closing applications and I will be sending out a few pm's but we have a few hard decisions to make.

Gotta say, I am surprised by the interest as well. I've heard that Chimaera will be presenting roses to the new members.

Those not selected have the choice of a Flavor Flav clock or a Brett Michaels bandanna.
  • I don't even understand your references sir. I listen to Nightwish, random 2 hour epic music mixes on youtube and remixed video game music from ocremix.org

If one person gets those references I will be happy...they're old VH1 dating show references...hilariously awful references.

I had the link you posted playing for one of the recent pvp's...If I'm not listening to music while playing, I'm listening/half watching Bob's Burgers, Archer, or South Park.

At the very least, I was a little familiar with Flavor Flav and Brett Michaels...wasn't the last one a football player? J/k icon_razz.gif Gotta love the 80s/90s

Before the whole season 1 fiasco, I was getting as high as 800s to 900s. Now with the new bracketing/sharting (i know it's sharding)/whatever. I almost barely got past the 300s last pvp.

I don't believe that you are getting lower scores because of sharding or bracketing. I think the reason for the lower scores is because there is alot more competition for the higher spots so that alliances get the top 100 in the overall season. When alliances saw that they were going to have a hard time staying in the top 100 they probably started pushing their alliance members harder to get the higher scores even if they did not need the rewards.

The whole idea of having seasons is good for competition but it has made it that much more difficult to get into a high ranking and get good rewards.

In other words, a lot more people clawing their way to get their alliances more points. I've been toying with the idea of perhaps trying to make big pushes in the middle of pvps. I think too early and there won't be enough high point teams to beat. Too late, and I end up taking 1 step forward and getting 3 steps backward with too little time to make up for the losses.
  • This is the ftp me in me speaking. Personally I find if you want to spend the least amount of hp on a shield but have a shield budget (roster slots come first) you want to get some kind of a score early to mid event, I'm thinking 300-500 depending on core roster strength. Then just try and maintain that. Once you hit the 7 hours until end this is were you probably want to make a push because people who 8 hour shield try to push around 9 hours out and shield under the 8 hour mark, plus if you attack those people in mid progress they will likely have higher points in mid push and not retaliate. The 4 hour mark is dangerous because thats when everyone else starts to play and using a 3 hour shield is standard so its tooth and nail to get a final score during that time. But if your budget cannot handle an 8 hour shield you have to do a push for the 3 hour shield mark and that is more down to luck and match ups and retaliations. Not a good place to be but we have all been there.

Good to know. Thanks Chimaera! That's a helpful strategy. What I like about it too is that hanging around the 300-500 allows me to be more stable in fights rather than having to depend on waiting at the bottom before being in a last minute frenzy. It supports my observations that the mid game may actually be one of the more strategic places to make a concerted effort (but not too big of one).

I actually do have enough for shield budget given the alliance rewards we have. Plus, if I can at the very least squeeze into top 25, then the hp from that + alliance hp more than makes up for an 8 hr shield I'd spend. I'm realizing that my performance in both pvp and pve right now are more getting better at the timing. It was really encouraging to hear from all the alliance members that I could still get to high ranks with an maxed all 2* roster. Slowly, but surely starting that 3* roster. After Punisher, should I shoot for maxing GSBW? I would've done Spidey C except they nerfed him.

Scrubby, while I personally really like GSBW, she is pretty niche. I'd hold off on putting iso into her. Looking at your roster, you'd be better off putting iso into Hulk or holding onto it for awhile.

Also, think about respecing OBW to put 1 or 2 more covers on her black. You'll get a ton of mileage out of Punisher's strike tiles plus OBW's double damage on Espionage at 4 & 5 black.

Agreed on both points. Try and concentrate on pve to get your max cover rewards I see some of the more recent additions are a bit sparse. Your best bet at this point is to save up ISO, and push for the recently released characters. For example Daken was released but you are missing a few covers already, you need to capitalize on every cover that you can of a specific three star. Daken will be rewarded at least one more time in the next week and a half probably then Sentry will be the goto cover. What you are looking for is a core three star team to work on, the newest covers usually have the most opportunities to be gained upon release.

Right now you have Punisher + OBW. that is probably all you can use for the foreseeable future but try to make that conceited effort to pick up missing covers of the core three starts when they come up. Were talking Patch, LThor, Daken, Hood, BP. The lesser ones like GSBW, Hulk, IM40 are not really commonly run because either they are too niche or not good enough. Once you have a large enough bankroll you can add some iso as needed when various chars are buffed. But Punisher and OBW are your core.

Kind of long winded look to max punisher and switch OBW to 3/5/5 and stockpile iso answer, but I prefer to add more info than less.

Thanks for the input Mags and Chimaera! I always get caught btwn putting iso into powered up characters for events vs. looking at the long run of who I should level up. I almost forgot about Hulk...mostly b/c I just kept getting greens. I need more black hulk covers! icon_mad.gif What's the ideal build and level for Hulk? I remember someone saying in chat that it's best not to level him above a certain amount of health b/c his black cover power would take too long to kick in? Also, I've been wanting to respec OBW b/c I liked it better when she was stealing 3 AP b/c it cost less to steal at that level. I just need more black OBW covers now too icon_razz.gif I'll take the advice then on stockpiling iso until I get the necessary covers for core 3*s and Hulk.

I'll also try working on getting the timing down for pve refreshes and and rubber banding (assuming we ever find the right timing again or that they'll use it again) so that I can hopefully win the corresponding covers of those events.

Hell with the rose!! I'd take the Flava Flav clock all day!!! I'm also quite sad I get the Brett Michaels Rock of Love reference also. Completely awful, but like a train wreck you can't look away!!!

Also Chimera you should look up Duane and Brando on youtube. They take old video game music and turn them into ridiculous raps. Some of them are pretty funny.
  • Scrubby on Hulk I prefer the 535. Really the most important is 5 in black, but I hardly ever use his red and really only put him in on defense.

I'd level him also. Maybe I'm spoiled by Patch and C Mags but it's not terribly hard to one shot low level hulks.
