I'm not sure how scaling really works, but guess a win adds to other node levels too, not just that one. If so excess play may backfire. If stays within a node then yo can harvest any throw-away node.
It raises the difficulty on all nodes, even if you just farm a single node. Difficulty doesn't translate directly into opponent level, there's an integer based conversion in there, so nodes will seem to individually increase only sometimes after winning an battle. This is just the side effect of rounding though.

To get a rough idea of your personal scaling factor just view the two nodes in the Simulator main event. They can be done just once by everybody, so any level increase you see there is almost exclusively due to personal scaling.

Wow, that's a really interesting idea. Never occurred to me. icon_e_smile.gif
  • This is going to be a bloody LR battle with DD covers up for grabs and him being super buffed in 6 simulator events. I'm trying to get one, good luck all!

Unfortunately I won't be able to add much at all in the Lone Star event. Only 1* champ I have is a level 1 storm. Strangely enough I had entered her in the other night just for the hell of it and when I loaded it up today it said along with some losses I had 2 victories with her.

Of course people are shy to bash a single gal. I would retreat too icon_e_smile.gif
  • If you have a favorable PvE scaling, do whatever you can to avoid playing (though any 10X missions should be played). PvE scaling trumps everything else in the end.

If your enemies are already level 230 (like they are for me) then the time you play do not matter. If you've unlimited time you should be grinding the small point missions up until about the last 4 hours or so. This allows you to sneak up on the bracket leader without alerting him, and then use up all your big points missions for the final 4 hour stretch as needed. Realistically, nobody has that much time and you probably just want to hit all the highest point missions in the last 4 hours or so.
  • Anyone else having problems loggin into MPQ? I got booted some time ago, then the forums here I couldn't log into...now I can log in here of course but still cannot get back in game.

    only with forums.

I have full rubberbanding in Simulator Easy. what should I do now?

In Lone Star Skirmish I'm #2 with 502pts. 5pts under #1. will make another push in 8hrs time.

EDIT: game just crashed during a battle.

Assuming you still have enough time for one more refresh, do the highest point missions until the full rubberband is gone. This minimizes the number of missions you play and hopefully keeps the PvE scaling low. If your PvE scaling is already high, you might want to get the rubberband done to about 5X or so, so that you don't have too much of a hill to climb on the final refresh.

If you do not have another refresh left for whatever reason, start with the lower point value missions first, and play the highest base point missions during whenever your last opportunity to play is.

"another refresh" - meaning before the last refresh?

As in whatever mission you did will definitely be available before the event ends. Makes no sense to lose your most valuable point mission if you won't get to do it again before the event ends.
  • Ok, I did first mission in Easy twice and the LT mission once. Full rubberbanding (625 and 2125) and now it's 1410pts for the highest point mission. Is that ok?

Gee, I find all this rubberbanding too much for my little brain... icon_mad.gificon_mad.gificon_mad.gif
  • People think too hard on rubberbanding. If there is no PvE scaling, whoever plays more still always wins, and playing more prior to the last refresh puts you in a better position to win because starting with the lead going into the final refresh is always a good thing. It's just that the effect is relatively low that you don't have to worry about it most of the time.

Due to PvE scaling being a very big deal, you want to play as few games as possible just because having easier opponents easily beats any rubberbanding wizardry another guy fighting 230X3s can possibly do.
  • Ok, I'm still not sure if what I'm doing is good. But I think that should work... We'll see tomorrow icon_e_smile.gif
  • Keep in mind this game is pretty big now, so the chance of you being matched up with other fellow crazies is pretty low (assuming all the crazies are already with the game even while population is low). Most of the time none of these fancy strategy applies because they're only useful when fighting other crazies.
  • Well this is ridiculous. I cannot connect to steam in or out of MPQ. whenever I try to play MPQ or start steam, it is stuck on a little black box "Connecting Steam Account: (Username)". longest I left it was 30min with no change. Tried restarting comp and still cannot log in. looked at steam forums and tried a few minor tweaks that people have said work to no avail. any suggestions?

I entered pretty late at "random" time and looked the counter as the bracked fills. It was rolling like crazy. Filled in like no time.

You may try to activate the offline feature of steam. Not sure how it interacts with MPQ -- could even work.
  • BAH, wasn't fast enough, only got to around #13 in LR, only a purple cover for my Mags. Well, at least the per-swap damage went up indeed as other said. Inside LR the purple was more than useful and often -- for some reason I rarely use it otherwise -- shot those buffed dooms, rags sometime magnetos with 7k or more life to near nothing.

First I went with mags/patch/obw and it worked fine but I collected some attacks. From mStorm/thor/mags parties O,O. Certainly I did retal, switching patch to Punisher. And after second attack changed OBW to Hood, adding some levels too. (3/3/2, uo to 60). This Mags/Pun/Hood team worked pretty fine -- hood stole me some AP of the most important kinds. Could even shoot pistols at one time. More imoprtantly NO attacks from there on.

I guess the other guys learned how to turn Patch to their side.

The levels in Hard went up considerably while I worked. Though RB was only up to 5. In easy looks better and RB was 10, though started falling right after first game. I play it up a little.

Not sure I'll have enough stamina left for * though.
  • Wow, I killed Rags with Daredevil sausage drops. The animations are hilarious indeed.

Its working again now, didn't do anything but go shopping and eat dinner and then tried it again. Was out for a number of hours, I have to think it was a localized routing issue with my internet provider in my area or something. Thanks for the tip though. icon_e_smile.gif
