Weird mine is no where near that. We have similar rosters I think

I didn't even use Spiderman on R1 very much, though I farmed every node for the 500 iso8 reward.

I guess you just got to play as few games as possible with the current scaling system. I can still get top 5 pretty easily, but it'd be way easier if they're not 230s.
  • My patch is 4/3/5 at the moment and I aim for 4/4/5 or 3/5/5.

4 green seem working better than 3 though it might be just illusion -- I pushed levels since last cover.
My normal style is to have support and kill off the purple tiles, at least reduce. If they stay because of recless berserking too often the result is downing. Not good. I could not deal with 6 really. Tep, in goon-only it is better but for general use ruins the thing pretty much.

Red I used very rarely but if so more damage rocks. And regen is just needed to be there always. When I put in patch it's mostly for tanking and regenerating. It must not depend on anything -- and before I got the 5th yellow it sucked pretty much. The required yellow is more than ** had pre-nerf, and it is too often missing.

In the tournament I'll push for the red I miss so much for the 13th place to finally add the missing levels.

... WOW, I made the top8 in Hood after all. Shielded up well before the end, thought will be climbed over bigtime.
  • Sweet! got my 5th blue cover for The Hood in his LR. He was starting to seem pretty good even with only 4, now he will steal every color! icon_e_biggrin.gif

Patch at 5/5/3 is fine against anyone else but Thor, though I'm pretty sure you'll be seeing Thor everywhere very soon.

I'd add Hulk to the mix. Yep, if Thor is around Patch is a liability. On attack you must prevent the yellow and retal is likely unless the owner is ignorant. That wasn't that rare really, but bound to cease. And with big LT the scare will not be there to start with.

In NHB I also got good retals from mstorm teams. So those are also better not chased with patch, psylocke is also suspect. Lately I use patch only under 400 pts where some beating doesn't matter even welcome. Or just before last shielding up.

Good stuff. I'll need another LR for the last one, got to 4/4/4. Guess that's 2 weeks ahead.

*sigh* tokens do not like me.

9/9 highly trained opened from this simultator, all 2*s. Opened my 6 saved heroic tokens now that BP, Psy and LT are available and... all 2*s

I also opened my hoarded 11 heroics: first 10 ** then a green GSBW. At elast one usable.
The trained ones 10/10 ** this far.

    Quite usual really.

Come on! My tank team in Doom LR (stock doom/20DD/16bagman) is supposed to collect losses, and after 3-4 of them the last 2 was a win for 33 and 20 pts.

I hear you - had 85 total (only 8 heroics) that I've been saving waiting for them to update the available characters. I got exactly one cover I didn't have - a purple Loki. Still a ton of points for upgrading though...
  • Can't say this enough.
5 green patch + 5 blue spider man = cake walking around pve
  • Next tourney is Hood again. So far nothing about Alliance rewards.

Guys, if I have full rubberbanding in Easy mode, I can start playing it, right?

ok, so how do i get my enemies to drop levels? in normal mode they are all over 200 and many at 230
    start constantly losing to them.
No longer works that way, you now have to put a little more effort into pretending you are not playing well. They key factor seems to be ending the fight with a lot less health than you had at the start. Total health matters, so you'll see little effect from throwing your low level chars into those fights. Not sure about retreating, I had the impression you rating doesn't change now in case you retreat.
  • I start easy when I get a solid hour + of free time. Usually the AM commute.
Hard mode I start either 12-15 hours before the end or 2 hours for midnight ends. However, health pack are not an issue and I do burn +3 blue/purple and green/black to help speed through. (With 5g patch at 141 every match 3 is worth over 1k damage) I use spidey to keep them from return fire

5 red is great too, but I find that by the time I get 14 red it is usually a little overkill. 5 red is really if you don't want 5 green due to risk, but since you are already at 5 green this probably isn't an issue.
Damage more than doubles for going from 3 red to 5 red. I usually try to soak up damage with Patch until I have 14 red, then it's goodbye to anything with less than 10k life. 5 green is a lot more risky, works wonders against goons though. Patch is really one of those chars you wish you could max all the covers for.

Do you use Spidey or Widow to heal up before downing the last opponent?
  • Sugarman wrote:
    1) How much does each loss reduce it, or how many would you need for them to effect it?
It's no longer tied to losing, it seems to be tied to losing health. End fight with a lot less health than you started with.
    Sugarman wrote:
    2) Are retreats as effective as regular losses in reducing it?
Retreats might no longer change anything. Gut feeling, haven't tested this enough.
    Sugarman wrote:
    3) Is retreating to death more effective than just retreating until your champs are almost dead?
I was able to stabilize my personal scaling by fighting till downed instead of retreating. Maybe just retreating till almost downed would have achieved the same effect.
    Sugarman wrote:
    4) Is retreating in the prologue as effective as retreating in an event?
I don't think the prologue counts. If it does, the effect is very minor.
    Sugarman wrote:
    5) How does it work in conjunction with community scaling?
It seems to be entirely seperate. Encounter level = base level + personal scaling (global) + community scaling (node). Nodes won frequently by the community will increase the level of that node only for everybody.
    Sugarman wrote:
    6) when do you see the effect? (This is the one I am most curious about because I have tried retreating almost my whole roster to death and did not notice a difference. Is it immediate? / calculated and updated to scale enemies in the current event after some time? / doesn't effect it until your next bracket placement? / at another point in time not listed here?)
You see the effect right away, you may have to look around a bit though. It takes quite a bit of scaling for nodes to increase/decrease in level. It's global, with each node having its own limit break due to rounding, so you'll likely see other nodes than the one you are currently pestering changing first.

I played 5-6 games in each worth 10k, regainig lead in combined for 130k. The specials look easy this far resembles R1. Hood+mbw is annoying but not really dangerous at my levels, if they grow will need some damage boosts. Though Panther just fails to provide utility for me, I'd chose Psylocke any day. icon_e_smile.gif

On the personal scale meter now the easy jumped to 97 too, so it's like just counting games and bump levels by 14 after stepping over a number, not continuous.

I suggest to play the specials, always the highest point game until RB drops under 4 or 3 for this early. I expect the lead go far ahead so we'll look at the numbers from R1 again, rushing early only hurts.
  • For the Simulator Basic you only need the character required points, but I like to get everything unlocked in case some of the mission turns out to be easy. For example the Ironman 35 + analyst + thug is pretty easy for any team with a Spiderman and not even that hard even without and it's worth a decent number of points. This round the special nodes look quite easy so you can probably get away with just doing those, but that's far from guaranteed as a general thing. Some of the special nodes are very hard!
  • Still awaiting my rubberbanding to reach max.

in LoT I reached 300 and put up the tank team. We're #47 right now and the difference between top50 and top100 is only 50HP. But I strongly suggest You all try to reach a couple hundreds points and unless You want X-Force or other Patch covers, just let it be. We should end top50 anyway.

WesFaram got my PM and read it, but didn't answer yet.

I got sweet PM from the one and only klingsor of 5DeadlyVenoms and I decided to share it with You. It was titled "suggestion.." :

Captain John Sheridan: Never start a fight; but always finish it.

For a 34 year old guy acting like that,it kinda makes me not wanna age as it seems the older you get,the more delusional you get.
