Gratz on the continued success, fellas! Here's hoping one of us can eventually overtake 5DV!

The current node values are now 50% above what that started at so the 3rd normal subs are

    Sim 1 - 75
    Sim 2 - 105
    Sim 3 - 150
    Sim 4 - 180
    Sim 5 - 75
    Sim 6 - 105
    Sim 7 - 150
    Sim 8 - 255
    Sim 9 - 255
    Sim 10 - 225

Again the hard subs is twice this so max rubber banding on Sim 8 and 9 will be over 5K points on hard mode.

As for Thor tourney - who wants Yellow Patch? I will grind as always even though I have him maxed, I just need to know if I have to bother more than I planned icon_e_smile.gif

On the other hand, maybe I should respec from 553? 3 in Red is still good, while 5 in Yellow makes a huge diffence. Opinions?

I went with a 355 - I tend to skew a little bit more defensively and the additional (equally powered) strike tiles worried me a bit. The automatic healing is great (I missed that when they pulled it from the old Wolvie) and lets me take more hits and play longer.
  • ok, so how do i get my enemies to drop levels? in normal mode they are all over 200 and many at 230

    start constantly losing to them.

Mine thankfully aren't higher than 100. In both subs.
  • so throw in a scrub team and resign or try to fight and lose?
  • You should switch Patch to 3/5/5 for the inevitable dominance of Thor, though just getting Thor is probably a cheaper option anyway.

Patch at 5/5/3 is fine against anyone else but Thor, though I'm pretty sure you'll be seeing Thor everywhere very soon.

Do losses in the LR's and PVP count for dropping the levels in the PVE events?
  • 10 tokens 9 2 stars and daredevil purple. (Already at5) pro pulling

    I'm a big fan of 535.

The 5 in yellow means Patch can brush off any match damage and can even soak up a fair amount of ability damage. It is also a nice health pack saver since you can enter a match with a half strength Patch and by the time the enemy has any serious offensive capability he is back close to full strength.

5 in green is risky but is seriously powerful, especially if you can chain a few cheap spam abilities like magnetized projectile after triggering it. The initial trigger damage is nothing to sneeze at either, and can usually down a low hp character that has sustained some match damage already. Lastly, 5 green is excellent on the all goon missions and can really speed things up. Clearly, having a stunner also helps enormously.

5 red is great too, but I find that by the time I get 14 red it is usually a little overkill. 5 red is really if you don't want 5 green due to risk, but since you are already at 5 green this probably isn't an issue.
  • The lamest part is that when Patch was introduced, I got too much of his covers and sold some. Then I realized I want him 535. Well, going into 544 will be a step forward anyway icon_e_smile.gif

    Good observation about goons fights!

EDIT: Patch vs goons tested. Works wonders!
  • Scaling got so bad for me at the end of the last hard that I couldn't even beat most of the nodes anymore. Doing fine on the new hard but I imagine it will scale up on me again soon. I heard people talking about losing in PVE to reduce it and seen some interesting discussion here. I do know that PVE and PVP mmr's are calculated individually, but I have some direct questions on PVE just to clarify it for me and any others that are curious if anyone knows the answers...

    1) How much does each loss reduce it, or how many would you need for them to effect it?

    2) Are retreats as effective as regular losses in reducing it?

    3) Is retreating to death more effective than just retreating until your champs are almost dead?

    4) Is retreating in the prologue as effective as retreating in an event?

    5) How does it work in conjunction with community scaling?

    6) when do you see the effect? (This is the one I am most curious about because I have tried retreating almost my whole roster to death and did not notice a difference. Is it immediate? / calculated and updated to scale enemies in the current event after some time? / doesn't effect it until your next bracket placement? / at another point in time not listed here?)

I have also noted a thread in general discussion in which the consensus was that for the HULK PVE, the effect of tanking had been reduced, though I have not noticed any effect from tanking in PVE's that I know of, just in PVP's.

Anyone feel confident they can answer some or all of these questions with accuracy? I know its a mouthful to chew on, but any help would be appreciated. icon_e_smile.gif

    1. No one knows. The more the better. It is also dependant on all players winning/losing.
    2. Devs claim that no. You have to take Your time to die properly.
    3. I think same as 2.
    4. Good question! But probably not, as Prologue isn't scaling.
    5. It does, but I don't remember how much.
    6. Just take some time. Read all pasa_, Moghwyn and Phantron wrote about rubberbanding and scaling. Put theory into practice.
  • Retreat is as effective as losing that same amount of health by fighting. Depending on who you're using sometimes it's faster to retreat and sometimes it's faster to just die (because it takes 4 retreats to go from 100% to 0%). Note that since even dying isn't guaranteed to lower levels, retreating would only have about 1/3 of that effect so don't expect to see any immediate effect. Even when the dying trick worked, you pretty much have to get 20+ guys killed before things get significantly easier.

I'm under the impression that the new missions are all fairly resilient to manipulation by dying, though if you can't beat something at all then it doesn't hurt to try. Just find something with Flamethrower or Tommy Gun and start making random matches and you should be dead shortly after.
  • Thanks for the feedback guys...Well I'm at #4 and #7 in normal and hard right now. I'm gonna take a break. Good luck and have fun out there!
  • So the prizes rolled in... top5 and top10. 3 tokens: 2 hawk 1 bulls. 10/10 **** this far, hardly worth the effort to get more of them icon_e_smile.gif.

OTOH I'm looking at 96k ISO and 1500HP. That's kinda WOW. 1400 gain in less than 10 days. And I leveled mStorm all the way up after all, put a deal of levels into hood and doom too. I guess BP will get his dose before first engagement.

This personal scaling meter is interesting. My was 83 and 85 yesterday, by the end of R2 it's 83 and 99. So it made a serious jump in the hard for not many games at all. And I believe I played about the same amount of games in them, probably even less in hard as it was, tough. And got 2 wipes there too. The "make sense" meter is still in the negative.

Any unfair matches this time? I noticed I made way less points in R2 than in R1, but others too, in hard rubberband never got over 5 and most times was 2-ish. Two of the 3 special battles were high-risk and high damage.
  • My personal scaling meter is 230 and 230. icon_e_sad.gif

Weird mine is no where near that. We have similar rosters I think
  • I'm in the 230s too and can't make any progress. The tiles aren't falling my way and I'm getting cascaded to death
