the scAvengers - [20/20] - You have Hulk. We have Phantron.

Phantron made a thread about it recently, worth checking out.
Due to personal scaling I'd suggest against grinding without a good purpose. And those only/mostly after points can make them up through RB.
I hear this time it's not cakewalk, green goons feeding monsters like patch and thor left and right... Whoever cracked those probably could share tactics too. (please include levels as those may change approach a lot)0 -

As long as I finish top 50 overall and we get top 250 in alliance (shouldn't be hard) I"m happy as I'll get my 3 caps, but looking for advice to maximize the points while investing the least time possible (hey I do have somewhat of a life )
If your missions are already at 230X3 the timing doesn't matter. If any mission strikes you as particularly easy (most likely 3X goon) you might as well do it every refresh. If not, doing it later is less work overall but your placement is more uncertain.
If your missions are not at 230X3 you want to do the missions as late as possible simply because you don't want to get them to 230X3.0 -

At -1min was at #1 everywhere but last seconds saw dropped to #3 in hard. The one set I got said just "simulator" top5, so might had similar in easy? Though combined still shows #1. 55800 pts
In JangoUnbuffed topic IceIX provided a table of their points (someone could beg him for ours...) and it shows this score would be good for #2 mere 21 pts behind best. I'm still not sure if different brackets create playfields that are fair to compare, so it may be high due to other factors like my quite late entering. Or getting reasonable levels in the spec nodes for all the wipes in the last PVE. Or using excessively high DPS mags/patch combo.
But I see it at least confirming that points are not lost by taking less battles or leaving plenty of point opportunities unplayed.0 -
Short story:
Day 108.
Daily reward.
Heroic Token.
X-Force red.
Happy Emeryt.0 -
I just accepted CH. We went from #12 to #6 in main bracket. I started grinding Simulator and later on I plan to start 1Star.0

Well finally found the discussion thread just saying hi to everyone. I'm 31 from Alberta. Pushing toward 80k points in simulator right now. The Thor and patch rounds are going decently for me although patch wiped out all 5 of my health packs in about 3 mins this morning. I'm running spidey/doom and either lazy Thor or ares. Basically hope for some blue on board so I don't eat more than one big hit. Get dooms tiles out and start eating their hp with Thor or ares. I'm about 80% success I think. Spidey is 120 doom 60 Thor 125 and ares is capped.0

Man, this hard simulator is kicking my tail this time around. First round I made it up to about 30000 for hard and 15000 for normal. This time I am still doing fine in normal, but having trouble just beating the nodes the first time on the hard. I only have 2/1 DD...I did just use what Iso I have gained from the current round put my first points into him and maxed him out at 28 lvl for current covers. Maybe that will help some after he revives.0
-
Yeah doom without a lot of black covers isn't going to help nearly as much. His lr tomorrow will likely be quite competitive as well.0
-
Oh man wait till you get to the node 9, with Hammer Assassin and Grenadier, only creating green, and oh yeah, it has LazyThor as the character, so every 4 turns if not sooner due to matches you are going to be eating a Call of the Storm0

I wouldn't doubt it. Maybe if I just purposely finish outside of the tops on the others and get some diabolicals I might pull a cover or two for him.0 -
i've finished all battles at least once in normal and hard. the one that gave me fits was spidey, x-force wolverine, and maggia. maggia kept generating blue like a madman and i just kept getting stunned. it drove me nuts. right now i am #1 in main bracket, #7 normal, #6 hard. 78633 total pts towards main0

Here's my general guideline to doing missions. This assumes that you're in an event where your PvE scaling eventaully takes you 230X3.
If your enemies are 230X3:
If any mission strikes you as particularly easy even at 230X3 you should do them every refresh (less work later).
Otherwise there's no real strategy in timing. Later is slightly better, but 230X3s take a long time to do, it's easy to start too late and never have enough time to catch up.
If your enemies are significantly lower than 230X3:
Do the missions as late as possible to minimize the increase in PvE scaling. This trumps everything else.
In general, when fighting against other guys who have 230X3s enemies, it ends up being a straightforward grindfest. However, your biggest threat is the guy coming out of nowhere whose highest level character is level 15. That guy generally has an insurmountable advantage in PvE scaling so it doesn't matter what you do there, so there's not much point to worry about these guys. Watch who is in front of the sub bracket. If it's a guy with a decent roster, you'll need to grind. If it's a guy with a weak roster, you might as well wait, because his PvE scaling is likely way better than yours that you can't possibly outgrind him.0 -
I'm just about to enter. From outside the levels look mild though somewhat up from virgin state and spread out. Hope it's not just the demo, some people reported +30 after first battle.
I see in all that time passed I only dropped to #32 in main and top is at 74k, mere 19k away. While 2125 and 4200 pts are offered in best battles to boot.0 -
Moghwyn wrote:Lessons learned: don't attempt the node containing Lazy Thor plus two goons unless you are prepared to call it a day. They both feed green to Thor, Call The Storm will hit in the third round, possible earlier in case there are green matches. At level > 200 it's pretty much an instant wipe.
The best thing I've found for these matches is to use Ares and fire off his green asap. For the harder bracket a boost may be necessary but it's doable. My brackets are still pretty manageable at this point though.
I hadn't planned on jumping into the one star bracket until much closer to its end. I can definitely use the hood cover but I don't have too many leveled one stars and I found I wasn't terribly competitive in the last one star tourney. I figure I'll just pop in, grab some quick iso and be done.
On the upside I placed in the top five in the last tourney and got the three daredevils. And with the iso from our wins last night I got my Punisher up to 141 (my first one). I have max covers for Hulk (101) and Patch (80) - and suggestions on which to push on next?

I see exactly that. Do you think it may be wiser to not even enter now and wait up another 12h?
My gut tells not really, it resembles the 1st run where I could go to top just playing the specials like 3 times each not touching anything else -- but waiting on would require do more of them. Or do I misestimate reduction in rubberbanding?0 -

Check with others to see what kind of levels they see to see if your missions are indeed much lower.
I'd do just all the missions while they're at the X10 value, because those missions are the minimum you have to do whether you did them now or later (rubberband is never greater than X10), so if you see the missions at X10 value, you might as well do it, and just stop whenever you run out of 10X modifier, assuming your PvE scaling is still low. If your missions are say, level 150, there's just no way anyone fighting 230X3s can hold off a late charge from you assuming your missions are still at base 150 by the time you make your move, so you might as well wait.0 -

I found the characters deserving every level are Patch and CMags. My patch was capped at 115 for ages that was painful and so much better now at 128. Will go all the way as I get last cover. With Mags I stopped on 121 for economy reason, I like spread roster and from here to top it's like 50k iso I rather sit on.
Hulk was also capped for long on 89, now could go to 115 but I stopped on 101 and consider it done for a while, at least until I see real need him having 8k health instead of 7k. IMO he's impressive enough and easier to get angered.0 -
pasa_ wrote:I found the characters deserving every level are Patch and CMags.
Makes sense. Hulk is pretty serviceable right now. CMags is cover locked right now so I'll focus on Patch. I'm also sitting on about 80 tokens that I'm holding on to foe when they drop the new three stars into the pool so that may change things slightly.0 -
In the scenario where your enemies are about 150 and waiting is suggested, when would be the best time to enter the sub bracket and/or start a final push?0

First see if anything is at the 10X modifier. I beileve the first mission is 62.5 on normal so that'd be 625 on normal and 1350 on hard. If they're at 10X modifier, you can't get away with not doing the mission, so assuming you don't have any time constraints, you might as well get it out of the way. You can think of any mission at 10X as the minimum you must do, so there's no reason to save your PvE scaling, because those missions are mandatory. Although the missions leading up to the 1000 iso reward tend to be hard and not much in points, I'd at least get those out of the way so that you can reach the 1000 iso reward mission too.
Now if you're constrained on time and can only do one solid push then you should obviously wait.0
