  • It's amusing how everyone is obsessed with the costs while not caring about the effect at all... Maybe D3 got hit it right after all.
  • I think Alliances need kitchens we can design. I know there's some active participants on the forum who could help.

Ouch. 600 HP? I thought it would be a friendly number since guilds are for friends.... Like 200HP? Even 300HP? Those are numbers I want to be friends with.

Yeah, that amount is too much. $5+ so you can hang out with a friend? Lame. It should be ISO really.

R49 cannot come fast enough. The stupid fluctuating percentage and CLD are back in full force now that LR have started. Grrrr.

Liking the new presentation very much. icon_cool.gif
Especially that roster is ordered by level including the buff, so no more scrolling right every time want buffed Thor or Wolverine.

Does anyone else think Nick Fury's dialogue picture has changed in missions?
A sign he may be about to get his covers?! icon_e_wink.gif

Depending on the nature of the competition, I'm not sure small alliances should be able to compete with larger ones, especially given the cost of expanding the alliance size. It would be the same argument as "low-level rosters shouldn't be winning events" except on a macro scale.

To your other point, I've seen in other games individual currencies for each aspect of the game. I wouldn't mind seeing an alliance currency that can be generated through alliance-related activities. However, larger alliances should be able to access the higher tier benefits faster. If all of that scaled as well, then one of the reasons for building a larger alliance diminish.

That depends on what D3 intends Alliances to be. On one hand, non-scaling cost would just lead to Mega guilds that become necessary for players to compete whereas completely linear scaling (cost is directly proportional to member) just means Alliances are more of a social addition without much benefit in growing outside your circle of friends or something. So depending on what the goalpost is, scaling should be between an X = bY function or X = c (i.e. between straight slope vs flat line) in a cost vs member axis. I think the best way to approach the cost would be to have tiers of cost increase depending on the number of members in guild. Something like:

    1-5 members = 1x cost
    6-10 members = 1.5x cost
    11-15 members = 2.5x cost
    16-20 members = 4x cost
    21-25 members = 6x cost
    etc.

So you still gain by growing your roster but at some point, the cost should overtake the profit to curb the creation of Mega guilds. Of course min/maxer will figure out the ideal number of people to have and the competitive ones will have Alliances with that set amount but this way small Alliances don't get completely creamed by gigantic Alliances generating 3x+ the points they can.

No, the reason to change to Heroics is because of a bug in Event Tokens that resulted in a ton of users not getting the correct tokens. As opposed to getting constantly flooded with tickets till a client-side Patch can help fix that, we did the quick and dirty change to Heroics and rebalanced the Iso/HP awards to account for it.

Wait what? There was no change to iso/hp PvE rewards... Or am I crazy?

Minor rebalances so you didn't have the Event Token tiers counting down in Iso/HP, then going back up again slightly when it hit Heroic tokens instead. Not full on rebalances.

If that's the case then I can accept that. It's just a shame icon_e_sad.gif
Hopefully it'll be fixed and back to powered up tokens for the next PvE event!

Hey Ice, any news on whether or not that buff to BP yellow is going to go through (the change to always makes 1 strike tile + 1 for each 15 env tiles)?

It would be a data patch, so if/when a change is made there it wouldn't need to go out with a major one. That piece of feedback I think got stuck in the machine somewhere, I'll go chase down the internal thread.

I'm curious to try the new alliance feature. I set my alliance to private... I guess people apply and I either accept or reject them?

Anyone care to join Retribution so I can test this out?

ok someone just joined. So it works, I can either accept or reject them.

Now I wonder if people can apply without a slot available and if it will say I have to add more or whatever.

So when will we get a round of small buffs? For example, Modern Hawkeye being able to place his shots.

gah, already two crashes since the update....now I'm out of health packs....I hope it's just really bad luck and not some regular incompatibility with my phone :/
  • Better get the update now as opposed to when it force closes the app while i'm trying to do a lit round / hulk sub. Hope my interwebs can get it done before the loki round, it really is that slow.
