There are better high hp placement rewards for alliance rankings for the commander to offset these costs somewhat.0

So far they are limited to 5 people or so and any random person can join at any time. So until these features hit they are hard to organize properly.0 -

So if game goes to alliance heavy rewards events etc will it then be where us in sandbox cant play or progress in game since we can't join them or create them0

I'm not sure how I"d feel about alliance-based rewards, given how small they are. If it's just stuff like bonus ISO and whatnot, sure, go nanners, but it'll suck to be one of the odd men out from the forums who's missing out on brand spankin' new covers 'cause he didn't buddy up.0

Is there something in that post that actually mentions Alliance rewards? It mentions perusing rosters in comparing Alliance performance, but never actually says what we get for being in one. I have plenty of people I'd like to invite into my alliance, but I'm not going to shell out 600 Hero points just to do something that has no apparent benefit.
600 Hero points is a phenomenally high cost for one Alliance slot. Especially, but not exclusively, when it doesn't do anything.0 -
I'm honestly not sure what our policy on sandboxed people will be moving forward so it's hard to answer that. I can say that being sandboxed it's unlikely you'll be able to take part in anything that has a direct impact on the in-game user economy or Tournament placement regardless of features, so that kind of rules out Alliance participation. If Alliance leaderboards take 4/5 of the users then leave out the other ones that are sandboxed, that creates instances where teams that don't know that they have a sandboxed player in their midst and wonder why they place lower than other Alliances. It's quite possible that we'll do rewards based on Alliance placement in Tournaments or Events. Ouch. 600 HP? I thought it would be a friendly number since guilds are for friends.... Like 200HP? Even 300HP? Those are numbers I want to be friends with.0

Easy solution - just buddy up! I havent done so myself yet, since I was waiting to see what alliances were going to do first....am I sensing a new "Odd Man Out" alliance?

So I guess that means those of us who came into the game liking the singleplayer aspect of it (play at your own pace without getting totally cremated by not having all the newest and best characters and rewards) need to start either becoming more 'social' and join an Alliance or risk falling further and further behind?0 -
IceIX, is anyone ever going to explain why the changes to the boosts resulted in the cost nearly doubling, despite assurances that wouldn't be the case?
Before the change, 3 of the two colour AP boost (3 * each colour) would cost 200 ISO, so effectively I would be buying 18 AP for 200 ISO.
Since the change, I get 5 of the two colour AP boost (1 * each colour) for 200, but it's now only 10 AP for that 200 ISO.
Any explanation for this, despite us being told (by you) that the changes to the boosts wouldn't result in a change in costs?0 -
We're looking at quite a few ways to mitigate that and we're not bound to any one mantra on Alliances. We want anti-social type players to be able to participate in things and not miss out on gameplay opportunities compared to those that join up with others. How that'll pan out in practice at first is another matter.
