    and im top 20.

seriously who screwed this pooch. icon_redface.gif

i feel for those who took it easy in the first couple subs thinking progression would be reasonable.

I think the problem is that there wasn't a lot to grind. First sub was six low-value nodes, three essentials (one of which most people couldn't even do until after the previous event ended so they could get a Howard), and the wave node which was worth over 1/4 of the sub's points. Second sub was a bit better with the easy wave node but the essentials and hards were really hard.

I'd love to see a link to that as well. It certainly seems to have become gospel on the forum, but I don't think I ever saw a dev say that. Looking through the announcements board right now but nothing specific yet.

Pretty sure the devs never said that, though it has been bandied about here for some time. It hasn't been the case for any new event, for sure.

I normally hit the top progression with clears between 3-4. Normally on a 3 day event it is 4,4,3 and I hit the progression. I might need to do a couple more trivial nodes to get there but not much. I just received the 3* progression doing 4,3,1 and I don't think I will be getting the 25 CP even with 4 clears of the final sub. The top 10 I. My bracket will hit it fairly easy and if I do 4 clears I should end top 50.
For reference I started this event right away which usually makes hitting the 25 cp fairly easy. The last survival mode was fairly ruff as everyone was over level 300 for me. I also messed around with OML, Daken, X-23 to beat it as I wanted to see how they did against had opponents. My X-23 was buffed to 220. If I could have matched my traps I would have kept everyone alive as it is I killed X-23 and Daken only OML stood tall at 1/2 health

Final node for me is 227-228. I used KK 174, daken 249(174 champed) and 3*bullseye 140. Came out on full hp, just needed carefully tanking with daken. Cleared twice and not lost anyone yet

I've not used a single healthpack on the entire 3rd subnode. The toughest is the spiderman essential.

I have 14hours left with 45352 points. I should have it with a third clear and a bit of tidying up, I might push for top ten if work allows.

Fun event, worst node was the kingpin/hood/muscle node, which I cleared twice. The Cp target is too high, but not impossible. I missed 2 clears on the first subnode.

Point values seemed pretty low for such a high progression. Usually the last sub is worth a lot more points.

4:30am cst and I just finished the 25cp. Looking at a top 50 finish. So not fun. Hoarding the cp for now. I think I'm going to retire from pve. It just blows way too hard. By contrast I had so much fun fighting seed teams in the lightning rounds. God its so nice fighting something easy and worthwhile. Not much of that left these days.

Well If we made up that ourselves THEN it would be nice if devs said something about it. We should KNOW (not guess) how many clears we are going to need to reach the CP.

I have been doing 4.5 (maybe a little bit more) clears in the previous subs and I will still need 3.5 clears of the last sub. This is quite a LOT, I usually get the CPs the first or the second clear of the last sub. Again it looks like they don't know what they want or they don't know how to do some very simple multiplications.

Devs need to make up their minds about what is the expected grind to get the final progression, and then that should be written into stone, now it looks like sometimes they want to make it easier and sometimes they want to make it harder.

Just for info, playing reasonably optimally I've scored over 36k in sub 3 (7 clears of all nodes except the last wave node which I've done 5 times). #1 in my sub has 39k.

I got top 50 while still about 3k short of max progression, so yeah, it was a bit too high.

Wow that was hard. I hit commandpoints.png on 3 day after 3 clears and replaying few nodes. Can´t remember last time I got commandpoints.png so late in event.

at 39K after 1 clear of sub 3. with afternoon clear left and some minimal grind tonight chasing cp and big isos I should be good.

In slice 4, with a clear and grind to go, my top 10 are all over 54K. I am at 39K and in 54th. Thanks to rubberbanding, 1st clear was worth 6900pts. I missed a couple clears and didn't grind the first sub; if I play it to the hilt i could still hit 65K. Based on the numbers reported here, and trying to ignore rubberbanding, the "theoretical max" is around 88K ... the realistic max 81K. 54K is right at 67% of that. Not the highest that's ever been seen, but higher than normal.

In Slice 1, my bracket ended with the top ten over 65,490 pts. I was 3rd at 79,273, but the two players ahead of me finished at 86,220 and 84,628, so that bears out that theoretical max estimation.

I was around 30k in that last sub. I don't normally grind this much and probably won't again but I wanted that Rulk purple. I don't know how people do this regularly, I'm exhausted, and I don't even have kids to contend with.

I hit it, then quit it this morning, 3.5 hours to spare. Wasn't fun though.

It's not supposed to be fun. What do you think this is, a game?!?!

I worked very hard, but then something came up and I couldn't play much at the end, so I only made it to 51000 icon_neutral.gif If I just had a little more time, I could have made it... Yes I won ISO and tokens, but I was really aiming for the commandpoints.png so the other stuff doesn't matter.

It's time like this that I miss IceIX who might chime in with whether the % of max progression was set intentionally so high or if they kind of messed up (but can't change it mid-event).

It's the sound of crickets from anyone in red - which leads me to the inevitable conclusion that they don't care - that will be the ultimate downfall for me playing this game in any serious way.

Their silence just invites too much of a sense of apathy on their part - so I become apathetic as well.

I wasn't sure they *were* high until tonight.

1 hour 5 minutes to go in my bracket, I just hit the max progression. And I'm ranked 23rd in my overall bracket. So yeah, this is pretty high. I would have had a higher score if I had a Howard to do the earlier required nodes with though.

I don't grind overly hard. I tend to do 3 clears a day then maybe 2 hours of grinding at the end. I try to get all the rewards for the required nodes and maybe the trivial nodes, then mop up any hard nodes that might be there.

Do you mean 2 hours of grinding at the end of every sub, or 2 hours of grinding on the last day of the event? @_@

I made it, but that was a lot of play time to get it. Too much.

The 25cp reward should be able to be earned by 3 clears of each sub. Its getting out of control how far they are pushing it up.
