Steam seems to be down at the moment and I cant join the game to get more points at the pvp event. I am very sorry that i cant help out icon_e_sad.gif. I have to get up at 5:00 in the morning tomorrow so I cant really wait any longer .....

Bad luck, EdHop, we'll keep bringing the fight! Stare on!
  • Hey guys/gals. Just checking in from the cave ~cave~ ~cave~. It's nice. Stays cool all the time. No need for a/c. Lol.

It's helped me get a lot of the marketing stuff done for my new job and is giving me a break from the grind. So the cave is "Working as intended", unlike some of the mechanics of the game itself. Ha ha.

Just wanted to say hi and cheer the active Bears on!

    STARE! STARE! STARE!

    Weapon Tex Mex!
    Congrats all, rank 34!

So, not that anyone is counting... but with the final week of the season looming...
This is our fifth top50 PVP in a row...
Our last 5 PVE's have also been top fifty and we are on track to close out Thick as Thieves in good rank as well.

Who are we kidding, of course we're counting. But does it mean we freak and obsess if we end up in rank 99? Of course not!* It's just the power of the Stare.

Unless Punter can explain the economics of top100 versus top50.

    *probably, maybe.
  • I just wrote up some of my PvP practices (some might call strategy) in the war room, in case anyone is interested.

Also, nice job all on keeping up the stare!

It's very good. I agree with all of it for those that have the devotion to put the time in. I don't anymore these days and as a results PvP has gotten very rough for me. I've lost 200pts overnight when I was only at 500.

I have to apologize for my low PVP score. It was pathetic. I dunno if others experienced it or not, but my phone was extremely laggy. I was able to accomplish something i had been wanting to. Join as late as possible and see if I can get a top 100. I did. I joined with about 3 1/2 hours to go and ended up 54th. Was a tough event for me also because I only saw 166s for the first time in a long while.

Probably done with TaT event. I'll try another round of clearing tonight in the sub if I have time and then one for the main. Tomorrow night, I'll start working on the SIM I guess.

Hey, no worries, man. No worries. icon_e_ugeek.gif
  • I wanted to push for more torches but built a doghouse this weekend instead, and finished mid 60's in my bracket

Man, everyone is so productive. The only valuable thing I did was repot some plants this weekend.

No argument about that. In case anyone hasn't figured it out yet time is really the thing that that will decide how well you do at this game. To be very successful in any given event you just have to put a bunch of time into it. Now, I don't hold it against anyone that doesn't have the spare time or just doesn't find it enjoyable enough to put that much time into, but that's the way it is. I have a pretty good roster and have been a top scorer in the alliance lately and I don't consider myself to be especially better than anyone else at the game, I just play a LOT. I kinda wish I didn't play so much but I'm an addict.

Shush, never say the "a" word. I don't like that level of self-reflection for myself icon_redface.gif

  • I was just reading through some threads in general chat and saw someone complaining about his bracket being too hard because he was paired up with X-Men and a CBS commander!

We've really hit the big time!

"]Would someone explain what the problem is? It seems like everyone is just mad that they're being matched up against people their own weight class instead of being able to beat up on noobs. If this isn't the case, my apologies.
It's not about who you play individual matches against, but who you share brackets with.

To clarify further, there are brackets full of forumites that 1100 points won't get you top ten in, and others full of noobs where 600 will win the thing.

Case in point, I''m in a happy bracket with THREE X-Men and three commanders from CareBearStare, Dormammu and Olympus. Something tells me my 1278 points won't net me the 5th place I need icon_e_smile.gif while a teammate is 5th with 800 something points in a bracket where the first one is 900 something.

As Kamu put it... CareBearStare totally over-performs on events with the worst rewards!
Thick as Thieves! Rank 9 out of 26445 - that may be an alliance record!
RWTD_Burn (108788), tonzil (100652), and Fisben (97033) take the trophies!

EVERYONE got their 40K Deadpool progression reward.
    Nice job all!
  • It may be time for crypto to start the shield sim for this season. Torch is fun, but only have the need for purple GSBW. Or I can go insane and try for my first 1100 ever to get the red torch. Choices choices choices.

I'm holding off on the sim until the last 3 days or so. Until then it's gonna continue to be used for tanking.
  • Mentioned in game chat but reposting to remind all - now that the PVE is over, don't forget to use Deadpool to get a win a day to keep collecting Deadpool Points to power the purple death from above.
