Meh, I'm gonna keep playing regardless. It doesn't matter how many bears go into hibernation, I'll still be getting more from this alliance than I was with the 5 man team I was on before. icon_lol.gif

Well said RWTD ^^, I agree with you. I was on a 5 man team before too and I was pretty much the only one playing and getting us rewards -lol-. I'll still be playing PVP and PVE regularly so I think we can help keep us at top 100 ^^
  • My 5 heroics were useless. Red Hulk (didn't need) and 4 2*s. At least my PVE tokens payed out (green HT, green X-Force).

fedlex and purinxa - happy trails. If you start having withdrawal symptoms, see a doctor immediately.

I'm actually kind of enjoying the PVE. Maybe just because it isn't PVP. And lrs were fun, even if they only gave me /iso this time. They still gave me a lot of ISO (got A-team up to 93, plus some to 94, and took HT from 30 to 43).

    AHHHH!!!!!

How can you guys do that? It makes me crazy to not see the round numbers... multiples of 5.

Lazy Thor is coming up and is now sitting at 110.

I have to admit, Spidey has been "put away". It hurts, it really really hurts. At least for PvE, I can manage to put up a Lazy Daken, Lazy Thor, Punisher/Mn. Mags team... And still manage to take down nodes. The way the scaling is going up though, it is not easy, nor is it "fun".

    P.S.

I think they made changes to the MMR and the way it works in "going down". SHHH!! They did it in secret.

I tanked my roster 3 times and not a single node went down a single level...

All these people leaving the game and forums so publicly. Makes you question whether you still like the game or if you're just trapped in the hamster wheel. The one satisfaction I have is knowing that at least I didn't spend vasts amount of money on the game.

Hamster wheel. Yes. Organizational behavior theory? Yes. (while the rest of you have science and tech degrees, I have a degree in business management and administration, so nahhh!)

When the alliance system started, several alliances (our included) ramped up to 20 slots pretty quickly and we started placing well in tournaments practically from event one. Part of it was the quantity of members, but it was also due to in large part because of the distinctive pluck and tenacity of the members. This created a positive upward spiral where inactives were slowly weeded out and more high-quality newcomers came in to join. This spiral continued on. The winning reputation continuously drew in more solid members. This solidified the recruitment core to our success at Season 1. Even though we're not a regular top 50 team, we held enough clout to draw in enough like-minded members. Positive spiral.

Plus, we didn't make EVERYONE a commander, so it was a lot less drama to re-organize when necessary. But that's me getting off on a tangent.

Now, in Season 2, a lot of us plan to take it down a notch. World Cup. Vacation season. Summer break. New jobs. New relationships. All legit stuff. Good stuff. I'm going to take it easier - I have to ease off being such a forum lurker too, personally. Will our scores, rewards, and rank suffer? I expect them to. Will we burn out less? I hope so.

In a positive spiral, inactives are removed and active players replace them. But if our scores and ranks decline (which, again, is expected), we will encounter a negative down spiral (it sounds worse than it really is) where our active competitive players will leave for greener pastures and we will NOT begrudge them.* We will stare them off with the best intentions. Our rankings will attract more evolving and casual players instead of competitive players... which is all good and fine. After some membership shakeups, our new position on the ranking ladder will solidify. Maybe we'll stay top100. Maybe top250. Maybe top2500. But it'll be worth it if we can all still play and stay relaxed and take care of our lives, then it's the right place for us.

*Total aside... so wook5 disappeared from our alliance a month ago without a word. And then I found him in the Krakadoom PVP. He was in the S.H.I.3.L.D alliance. I hit him three times! Like, little Care Bear love taps. I just wanted to say, "hey buddy, I remember you.". P.S. CareBearStare did better than his alliance in Season1! DecoyDuck = petty?

    Well, they'll be 95, soon.

    Briefly.

And a bunch will either hard or soft cap at 115.

Yup, I'm getting hit pretty hard with scaling this time around, despite doing the same kind of preventive management I usually do. The last node of the Storm chain is ~115 and the all-goon node at the bottom left reached ~135, which are levels I typically only see at the end of events, not half way through.

Oh well. Time to buckle down.

I really expect a lot of the same stuff to happen across the board, not just our alliance. I think the end result will not have us dropping in average ranking too drastically. Of course, only time will tell

Holy ****! The token gods are generous this morning!

Heroic Token from daily award - Red 3* Thor.
Standard Token from a sub battle - Blue Dare Devil.
Prodigal Sun Token from top 10 in sub round - Green patches.
Heroic Token from alliance reward on sub round - Green Inv Woman.

4 tokens today, all 4 3* or higher. Who had 2 paws and is gonna buy a lottery ticket on his way home from work today? This guy.
  • Ah I'm sorry I'm new to the forums so I do not believe I can pm people. I currently am looking for a new Alliance because my 5 man Alliance is barely alive. It would be great to join and active Alliance with actual communication, plus being able to yell CareBearStear rules to my room mate as he plays marvel puzzle quest would also be a bonus.

My IGN is Samintheusa if I am accepted it would be an honor icon_e_smile.gif

More importantly, who is your room mate and what alliance is HE in??? icon_e_biggrin.gif
Let me discuss with the co-commanders and see if I can send you a PM.
  • Wait, wait! Hold the presses!

Decoy... Don't we have an OCD rule? You need to be at least [______________________________________>|<___________ ] this crazy in some form or another to join CareBearStare. If you have OCD, it's an immediate in... How many times a day do you wash your hands? Step on cracks... Hold your ears, rocking back and forth saying "Foombazza"???

    We must know!!!

Who are these "co-commanders" you speak of? Voices in your head? Or does the ghost of fedlex still linger?

DecoyDuck: have you had many people interested in joining? Anyone besides Samintheusa?

Yeah, DD, don't you have an announcement to make or something? icon_e_wink.gif

Pssst, check out the member list post on the first page of the thread if you don't want to wait for DecoyDuck to drop by.
  • You know, I dont get this game sometimes... Rubberbanding is based on Main and Sub? I am pretty sure. I am currently - wait for it 875th in the "easy sub"!! WOOT!!!

A whole 3K behind first!! With 150 points nodes!!

BUT - I have moved down 1 rank in the Main. That's right 1. From 3 to 4.

Technicaly, if the game lest me catch up in both subs... I will 4K up on 1st... That damn slacker better start hitting some nodes, my nodes (Lazy Daken) depend on him/her to move their ****...

With humble deference, we are honored to have Tonzil and Kamuuu promoted to alliance commanders. They represent the CareBearStare philosophy in the most ideal form. That, or their checks have finally cleared and have been deposited.

They will represent the yin and yang to my yawn. They will crack the whip harder than I ever could. And they will play both good cops and bad cops, often in the same sentence.

But most importantly, they will preserve our alliance philosophy as our team grows and evolves. I mean, there really isn't THAT much to do. Seriously D3? You want my money? Let me build an alliance base. With stat modifiers for the team. Let me add various rooms and equipment and I'll bankroll your next fiscal quarter. Oh, and I remember that Kamu once said I was pretty chill when communicating with our team... and I remember this one time when M3saia got sandboxed the second time and I sent fedlex a PM just screaming and screaming! And now he's gone so... rambling...

Other than Samintheusa, I have made an overture to another individual to see if he is interested. There is another requester as well, that I've been PM'ing back and forth. I'm not in a super-big hurry, but then again, it's not like a major commitment so we might as well get some players in. I mean, if it doesn't work out, we can let them go just as quickly. I'll just say, "I'm sorry, but Tonzil just doesn't like your attitude. I would've kept ya, but y'know, Tonzil's the man."

    See? Easy.

    *waves at the CareBears *

Basically, we're just the bus brigade, this is still DecoyDuck's show. (One experiment I was on jokingly maintained a "bus list", as in a list of people who absolutely must not get hit by a bus because their brains contained info that was not written anywhere/only they could make sense of their mission-critical code.)

    ^^Bus brigade and scapegoats, apparently.

    Also, French squadron.
