  • Hey everyone. I was just invited to drop in and introduce myself as a potential candidate to fill a soon to be open spot.

I've been playing this game since the first week it was released and still enjoying it, though I don't put quite as much time into it as I used to. I still play at least a handful of matches every day and compete in every event.

My primary team is Littlebunnypunpun, BagofEpicness, Magnets?Howdotheywork? each at level 112 currently.

Have Totallynotconsortingwithdemons, Rag, Patch, Fishnets as backups all between 80-90. I have at least one cover for all characters besides the recent Gold Character additions.

I had been in an alliance with some friends but they have all since quit the game so I'd like to be in a casual but active alliance to be able to take advantage or the new alliance rewards system.

I have also been on the forum since very early though I don't post a ton I do check it out just about every day (weekdays) to keep up with updates and just what is going on in general.

Anyway, I appreciate the potential offer and hope it works out
  • Taking breaks/holidays/being out of country is OK but I think people should tell the alliance when such things happen. Right now we're in the dark and don't know what's up. It's much easier to be sympathetic when we know you're out in China for a business trip or taking kids to Florida or whatever, but right now we can only work off of assumptions. I wouldn't have an issue with opening up the slot for others, but I know what your concern is; he gets back and wonders why he got the boot.

And yet another cover being added?

Wwhen are they going to stop with the new covers? I understand that they want to keep making money. But at the same time, they can allow us a little time between adding covers to acquire some of the ones we already have and level up some of those as well.

Being yet another 3 star also. Making it that much harder to get more...

Good luck to all in the latest round of grind 'til your fingers hurt...

    P.S.

Sitting at 922 in the latest PVP tourney. Hopefully going to help stay competitive for all those needing / having room for a black LilCuteGreenDude.

    Cheers.

Constantly releasing new covers is OK, but I think this one is just too soon. A new character per 2 weeks is a nice pace. Fast enough to keep a brisk pace. Hard to quite catch up with all the new guys coming out, but enough time to find room for them on the roster. Having a new character within a week is a bit too fast paced IMO

Welcome adam. Everything'll work out, as long as you... keep up the stare or whatever it is Decoy likes to say

I mean, it's still a game, right? This ain't purely a social club.

    Welcome adamLmpq to our alliance!

Reading through the thread. I'm on vacation April 14-19 and my vacation plans means no computer at all icon_e_smile.gif. It might extend a day before and after so say April 13-20. That's a week.

I'm hoping I'm not dropped for that icon_e_smile.gif.

You ain't gonna be dropped. I'll just randomly assign some other alliance member to pick up the slack. icon_mrgreen.gif

Awesome! On a side note, if the members who hit the 250K 8000 ISO totals and the high scores like 900 or so be willing to share their tricks via PM, I wouldn't be complaining icon_e_smile.gif. Assume I don't know anything so any tips would be great.

I have found a good strategy is unlocking the two sub events and letting the points skyrocket to the multiple thousands is a real help. A full clear is then required, grinding down the max point nodes into the 100's of points. Wait 12-16 hours and the high point nodes should be back up into the thousands. In the last two events with 2 subs, I have only ground the highest point nodes possible. Going for all the 500 ISO rewards is good if your roster is in need of some leveling. Use ruberbanding to max effect and you should be in good position to land a top 5 placement in the subs. For tournaments, I usually grind to 500 points with 2 hours left. Then I shield up and hope for some defense victories. With an hour and a half or so left, I begin a blitz to capture a top 5 placement, and usually re-shield with 15-20 minutes left. Hope this helps!

Shielding seems "pricey" for me so I haven't played with it any. Doesn't the point totals drop down quite quickly when you try to grind? I've been playing when I can and try to play whatever has the highest points at the moment.

I've also tried to do it without spending for health packs. Not sure if they're related for me.

Replying here because why not share info around, it's not like it's secret alliance tech or anything.

First off, if shields are not really an option for you, 800+ in PvP is probably not going to happen. I can usually manage to be a bit above 600 at the end of a tournament without shields or with at most one 3h shield. I typically join with about 24h to go, but this is not really for a strategic reason, but because it limits the time I have to spend on a given tournament. That way I don't have usually have to split my time between multiple PvPs. I'll make a first push to at least 300, sometimes as high as 400. Then I let that wave of retaliations wash through by waiting about 8-12h. If you're still below 400 to 500, you do not lose as many points when you lose a fight on defence, so it's a good point to take a break. I'll push up to 500 or so after that, then wait out retaliations maybe for 4h and to one last push toward the end (last 90 minutes or so). If I really want the rewards, I plan to shield and I shift everything up a bit and make my last push to end about 2h to 2h30 before the end of the event.

For the PvE, to reach 250k and for good main event rewards, I often sacrifice a bit on the sub rewards front. I enter subs quite early and will make sure to open up all node chains quickly so I don't get stuck with whole chains of nodes I cannot do when scaling kicks in and some of the fights get kind of ridiculous (like that Spiderman/IW node with the goon that generates blue and green in BP's sub). Then I try to deplete the stack of a given node (not to 1, necessarily, but to as low as I am willing to go) in quick succession before I move on to the next one. This way, I can clearly see which stacks are depleted and which ones aren't. As a result, even if I cannot do perfect management of the refreshes (clear every stack of every node as close to the end of every refresh interval for maximal rubber banding) I have some stacks that are at their maximum value every time I have a moment to pick up the game. If you thing of the decreasing stack values as 10 8 6 4 2, I always have some 10's available, and I never end up stuck with partial credit like doing 10 8 6, 8 6 4, 6 4 over the three times I may have a chance to play on a given node over the course of a sub. (10+8+6+4)x2=56 is a better base score than (10+8+6)+(8+6+4)+(6+4)=52 for the same 8 battles.

Of course, for the simulator, I don't think it was possible to break 250k without having access to all the characters that were given essential nodes. Having a very broad roster (I have everybody except Yelena), even if that means a bunch of 3* where you have only 1 cover for and the next roster slot costs 400HP. Access to whichever covers are needed is probably the single most important factor for any event with cover restrictions and/or essential nodes.

This turned into a bit of a novel, but I'm curious to know how others strategize for these events.

He'll force me to get double the points as punishment for doing so poorly in the last event, lol!

I'm trying to make the leap into 3* territory so I decided the fastest way to just get random covers is to compete in LR to get the random tokens. I know the Mags one is competitive so I tanked that one and jumped into the Rag one. I wanted to get the token just cuz why not, every possible cover from that pack would benefit me in some way or other. I kept a close eye on my rating, making sure to stay within the 26-50 band. Can't be too high, can't be too low. I ended up getting the Diabolical token I wanted and guess what I pulled? A Rag cover!

The nice thing is that my mighty L25 Rag will help me get Top 50 in the next Rag LR.

Ends at a bad time for me, but we're still in pretty good position for the black hulk cover. I think I can drop another couple hundred points before the end. Y'know, I never found out what time zones we are all at.
  • GMT-5 for me, so Fearless Defenders ends in the middle of the day while I'm at work, which is less than ideal. Pushed to 600 tonight but it's too early to shield. I'll see where I stand in the morning and go from there.

Hey, quick update, Im seeing one member who hastn claimed his cover(s) of lazycap (and he has Y elena in his roster, so i think its not a matter of roster space icon_razz.gif )
And he hasnt got a LazyThor cover either, maybe he's been offline for a while?

His roster includes a lvl112 Cmag, lvl 112 pun isher and lvl 112 s pidey so i guess its not firepower that he lacks to get those covers.

    Rollcall! AdamLmpq are you there??

The "secret" is to play until it drives your spouse/significant other/family/extended family crazy. This alliance may be casual, but I play waaay too much. And my time on the forums is starting to eclipse my actual in-game time!

I think pouring over the forums is a great start to try to figure out the "meta" game. Not every suggestion works for me though. Tanking doesn't seem to be working for me cause it takes time to make a drive in a lightning round and then throw up my tanking team (lvl 10 BagMan and Moonstone). Time better spent grinding in some PVE! Also, I don't need to "intentionally" lose PVE matches - sometimes the AI takes care of that for me.

I think managing the refreshes on PVEs like Kamuuu mentioned really works for me since it lets me maximize my points in the limited amount of time I have to play (i.e. efficiency!).

In PVP, my strategy is to make a small start (100 or 200 points) at the beginning, and then make a final push in the last couple of hours. But more importantly, I skip until I can find some high value targets. Some folks say no less than 20 points. I'll pay the skip tax until I can find opponents worth 30 points or more! (I need discipline to resist those 29 point targets). My thinking is that I'm going to be worth little for their retaliation (if they retaliate at all!). And if they DO retaliate, I'm only gonna lose 5 or 6 points and I get to hit them again for 30+ points.

We just welcomed adamLmpq into our alliance today, so I don't know what his Simulator experience was. Maybe it was not a great one. No matter - he's in CareBearStare pastures now! More rewards for everyone!
