"Starting with The Hulk Story event all Story events that do not feature a newly released hero will contain a vault. These vaults will feature 1 Legendary Token, 3 4-Star, 22 3-Star, and 54 2-Star heroes (totaling 80 items).
The price in Hero Points to pull a cover from these vaults will be 400 (100 Daily Deal) for a single pull, 3600 for 10 pulls (2800 Daily Deal) and 14000 for 40 pulls (9800 Daily Deal). The price to reset the vault will be 400 Hero Points."
Thank you.

In other words, if the three 4*s happen to be three I don't need, this is a big step backward.
To put it another way, it wasn't enough to have progression tied to random token pulls, so now you're adding an extra layer of randomness... we have to be lucky enough to have an opportunity to be lucky enough to draw something useful.0 -

Or an alternate money grab for people like me who spend on MPQ. Had two Chulks in my first Hulk vault. Didn't hesitate to spend 400 HP to get rid of him... Replaced by another IW and Thing, but I'll take it over Chulk.
I still like vaults than random draws. At least I know what I could be getting, rather than the ridiculous randomness of getting an 8th cover for Starlord.0 -
Note to self: save tokens for a mass opening0

Ask for change. You get change. No one ever says change is what you ask for.0

I like this change. I'm surprised this announcement came later than the help page announcement but I guess this is due to the specificity that this announcement came from Demiurge rather than D3?
Since we're on the topic, can I suggest that there be a daily/first time discount on resetting the vault, going forward? Even better, making the first reset is free would make this change easier to swallow for many. It hurts to check the vault and find two Chulks next to IW.0 -
Thanks for the news david.0

I think this is a great idea. I get to see what I can get for my tokens, and I can spend a few hundred HP if I want some extra pulls.0

If the three 4*s happen to be three you don't need...
...you can wait until after the event, and get more Normalish token odds with the vault resetting every time you pull a token.
(Or, hoard until the event rolls around again without an IW but eh that takes a loooot longer)0 -
I actually like this change. I'm curious if I horde enough tokens will they pass over to the next running of the event? I generally accrue enough hp to buy a 40pack every other season. And a 40 pack in an 80 item vault is a pretty reasonable pull.0

Think about it this way: you get to see which 4* you would get before you pull.0 -

I'm very happy with this. I love vaults, cheers!0

Sorry, anyone hating this change is crazy.
Your vault tokens now give you a minimum 1.25% chance of a LEGENDARY token? And regardless of whether you "like" the 4*s... A legendary and 3 4*s means a total 5% chance of at least a 4* cover on every pull, and it just gets better from there.
If you don't like the 4*s on offer, don't open the token yet. I wish I knew I would get a Chulk before I open my 12th.
This is an awesome move and may persuade me to actually play PVE.0 -

Basically, Yes!
But ultimately isn't that better. You get to make a free decision (about whether to play) with the full array of outcomes visible (So you can decided if this vault helps your roster) or just roll the dice on a blind guess (Where mathematically, you will need to account for all possible 4*, vs in a vault you can discount the value of 4* that you don't need)?0 -
Once events are over, what happens to tokens from that event? Revert to hc tokens or get transformed in next event tokens??0
-
I like the change, but could we get one free vault reset, that might help mitigate the negative reactions to this a bit.0

Right now these tokens just stick around as "post event" vault tokens. They don't revert back to regular event tokens.
different question:
What happens when the even rotates back around? Does the vault get refreshed, or do we get a new vault?
If the former, then saving tokens remains a viable strategy. If the latter, then saving tokens just got a lot worse, since post-event vaults reset after every pull.
Side note: Demiurge, can you please fix the problem where post-event vaults are actively worse because they reset after every pull?0
