I'm down to one node which is continually kicking my butt. It's the Grocket essential node with Deadpool, XFW, and Eddie Brock. I've tried it with CMags/Mohawk and with LCap/Mohawk so far. If I pop a hailstorm to try to help take down Deadpool, Venom comes by and slaughters the team in a single blow. I haven't gone as far as super whaling (I did use one on the Jeanbuster/Thor node, but I've got enough DP points I supposed I could do that), nor have I used +all damage boosts yet.

    Suggestions from my roster?

That node was very tough for me as well! No access to my oml, no access to dp's whales...

I used the old hb/if combo, and I crushed them easily! It's not such a great combo for pvps any more (if is too weak on defense), but it's still fantastic for pve!

This is actually the first ever guantlet I've won. So that's something. I may even redo some nodes in order to get more iso. Gotta champ my iw and hb before their additional covers expire!

Is this the end of my gauntlet career? Is there maybe something someone can see in my roster that might work? I think my under leveled state is killing me.

Your roster is certainly challenging with a 319. (5*s definitely your issue).

I'd suggest Mohawk, Grocket and Steve.

Ignore Loki but don't match any 4's or 5's, focus on Mag to begin with. Deny Blue and depending on the board place a Grocket Tile in a corner. Only Stun with Steve if Mags is closing on 10 Blue.

Whilst denying blue get Mohawk Black out as quick as possible. Then once you've got that out use Steve's red to down Mag/Loki.

Work on Ultron last and you might scrap through.

Maybe your Hulk/GSBW/Switch? Let hulk take those blue hits and generate green plus shake up the board and Swtich generating more purple for GSBW to then feed her green Sniper? None of them are boosted but it could get to heavy damage quick, especially if you target Loki first?

Another option might be your Hulk with Storm, to feed her lightening storm then collect AP then feed it to whichever damage dealer you prefer.

Or maybe just whale it with Switch and Deadpool, if you've got the DP points to do an insta kill. The Gauntlet is the only place I ever bother with the mega whale option anyway.

I just beat this with Patch, Loki, HB. Loki stole a lot of defense and strike tiles.

I think I'm giving up on this. The first Rocket & Groot node is ridiculously tough, especially since they're not leveled up or covered well for me. I was getting lucky in previous nodes by using Patch + Hulk to basically Beserker Rage + Anger everyone to death, but it definitely doesn't work on Red Hulk, seeing as how he just sets off a lot of red tiles that all conveniently trigger a cascade, wiping my Hulk out in one turn. I actually almost won once, until a lone Nick Fury set off his Demolition and conveniently made three match-5s in one turn. The cheating AI makes me want to punch my monitor sometimes, so I'm glad I don't play on my phone, as it'd probably be shattered on the ground by now.

This is my roster (or at least my most powerful heroes), if anyone has any tips:

Is there any particular strategy people are using to hit the ProfX/Uberdaken/Miles node at the end? It's IMHB required and I only have him boosted to 160 with 2/1/1, so he's not really putting in any work.

I've been trying with OML (0/1/0) to soak and just to high basic match damage, but I'm not able to down ProfX before the team starts popping off powers. My third hasn't really mattered. I've tried max Cage, maxed 3hor, maxed GSBW. Or is this one just a "pray for the right board and hit it hard".

I think I have points for 3 more whales, but... I'm saving those.

Edit: Well, while this was waiting for moderation, I cracked it. Just went in with IMHB/Cage/GSBW. Boosted colors, but mostly just got the ideal GSBW board. She turned it into a massacre.

I struggled with this node too and my R&G is fully covered and championed. I'd try CMags and Punisher with this one and actually calculate 40% of each enemy's health so you know EXACTLY when to use Retribution and take someone out. I'm not exactly sure how to prioritize targets since all three (Demolition, Hammer & Anvil, Maggia Pawns) have deadly attacks, but I went Kingpin/Fury/Hulk.

Of course if you have 3* icon_deadpool.png and at least 28K in DP points...

Do you have any other well-covered boosted characters? I'm pretty sure I went with CMags and KK for this one but that's not much of a suggestion if you don't have either of them well-covered/leveled.

I added an edit. Beat it while my post was being moderated. IMHB/Cage/GSBW. Just a great GSBW board and she cleaned house very efficiently indeed.

Thanks very much to everyone here, whether I interacted or not with you on this, I read everyone's messages and used a lot of advice. I already thanked the redditors on the MPQ subreddit. I managed (day 562) to clear my first gauntlet completely, and get my X23 cover! I had all the essentials, and I completed every node at least once. No, I will probably NOT go back and clear every node completely for all awards, there's not enough enamel on my teeth as it is, another run through a few of those and I'd be down to the tooth root nerves. icon_lol.gif

I've always previously been missing an essential or just found the scaling unmanageable due to my own stupidity. Well, the scaling was pretty f(*&(*ing vicious this time too, with my three 5 star covers, but I had enough 3stars to play around and still win.

Loki OWNED this gauntlet. I plan to champion him the next time I have 7500 iso just sitting around, so I can play with his powers, but even without championing he just ruled. He took out IMHB by himself at the end of one of those terrible nodes. It's actually a big thrill for me... I go for the green for Patch, and oh-so-carefully negotiate matches or shakeups to get the black for Loki, and when both are flashing, I usually mutter something like "And now, for my next trick, watch me pull a Loki out of my hat" and then i tap that green. And those wicked strike tiles materialize with Patch's claws flashing. Then I mutter "and now I wave my magic wand" and then "Voila, game over m*&f*(&rs" and I just start making matches and smile as I see the hits rack up. Loki, with his under 8K health, and some big lunk like IMHB with 25K health and down he goes. Even just typing it I get a grin of satisfaction.

No doubt, Cmags was central to winning but Loki.. he just was the man. And it was even better if they put down their own shields or strike tiles. ALL UR TILES ARE BELONG TO LOKI!!

Ahhhhh... Loki blackflag.png and Patch greenflag.png best buds.

Loki is a terrific character. There's generally no reason to respec off of 5/3/5. Purple doesn't really get much better with 4 or 5 covers, but green and black are vastly improved.

I was focusing on the season this weekend and am only catching up on the Gauntlet since the morning. Mostly playing CMags/QS/OBW, which has been a lot of fun. Probably not as feasible once the match damage starts getting higher (I'm roughly midway through the second sub), though.

This node is destroying me. Any other suggestions. I'm.close to throwing in the towel and whaling it.

They are L176 and L178 respectively, so I think they would get slaughtered pretty fast against the L317 enemies. Especially since they couldn't one shot rulk and so would cause him to see red a lot.

Lesson learned. If you get a suggestion from a name you recognize, try it. Cyke only had 1200 health left, but this team rocked. Thanks for the suggestion.

Glad to hear you beat it -- yeah, KK tanks a little too much, but I try to offset that with Cyke's yellow. I wonder if a 5/5/3 KK would work better to max your heals and then use R&G's green instead.

Also, you recognize my name? icon_eek.gif

This was really close to working but I just couldn't pull through with my current levels - I ended up whaling it. I think this strategy might have worked with very good luck though.
