Yeah, points are crazy. I started around 2 hrs after event opened, the char required missions were around 1.9k... and now they are about that much as well.

Jumped from 11-14th place at end of last event to 4th now. I know people havnt started, but I dont know if rubberbanding will catch them up now.

Not sure I am a fan of this. I spent a fair bit of time this week grinding out missions to have people who took the weekend off fly by me and that is fair?

Doesn't matter - if you play as much as they do from here on out you'll still end up ahead in your main bracket. You may have a disadvantage in your sub if you are under the max multiplier against someone who just joined today, but that's no different than any other recent PvE event.
  • I'm not the type to complain about there being too many events running at one time or too many characters being introduced but I have to say... I'm really liking that there is only one sub right now icon_e_smile.gif

having one sub is making the goal reach a lot faster than when there is more 2 or more lol

Okay, I see that long-time dedicated players are defending that the matches are "doable" and that lvl 230 fights are nothing new, but I think the important question is, is it still fun?

Sure, we can still beat them but I've personally limped in on this PvE because every match being lvl 230 is more like a tedious chore. I was already tired of it on Day 1. Every match is either about stun locking or stealing AP, or else one slip up and the game's practically over. It's becoming a one note, one-sided battle where the whole point of a match is to game the board in order to not let the AI attack at all. And while some might argue that's the whole point of MPQ, it's not fun for me.

    /Agree 1000%

No its not fun and we have been giving them feedback but still get zero response. I would like to know what's what and if its working as intended or not.

I have to say I honestly think the only thing the scaling has really done is stop a lot of people from playing - when they hit a wall of 230's.
It's not that it's not possible for a few players it just such a boring grindfest getting through them when you can that people just lose the will to carry on.

It's meant to give everyone an equal opportunity but it definitely seems like the results are getting a bit mixed between differing people - 2 players with similar rosters seeing a different variation of levels - which isn't really offering the level playing ground.

It still feels like these are the only devs who don't want to reward their players for playing their game which is a bit baffling and surely can't be their intention.
I hope they get rid of scaling for at least one event just to see the feedback or the player volume for that event.

I'm sure more people would probably end up playing or at least enjoying it.
  • As a “long time dedicated player” I enjoy that *some* of the matches are level 230 and challenging. I wouldn't say they are particularly fun, hell no. I don't agree that ALL of the freakin' battles should be level 230 goons. The only time I use boosts are for PvE events and when they raised the prices it irked me to no end (especially when they raised prices in the middle of a broken PvE event). Now they are retiring the old boosts and I have to find the new ones from scratch... in the middle of a PvE event where they are almost always required! icon_rolleyes.gif When will they learn from their mistakes? If the enemy scaling was a lot MORE gradual, it would be tolerable. In a 10-day event, the goons shouldn't be level 230 on the 2nd day of the event! This is the fourth event with their enemy scaling and as usual it started out fine and got out of hand by the 2nd day. I wish they would strike a balance between challenging and fair. Right now they haven't got it down just yet.
  • The 230X3 don't even take very long because of the cheap stuff you can do with Patch/Spiderman/whoever, so it doesn't even make much sense from a difficulty point of view. Generally speaking it's only dangerous if you have at least 2 out of the Daken/Juggernaut/Ares because those are the characters who are fast enough to actually do some damage. Some combos of goons + villians are also super cheap, like Ares + 2 green generating guys, though even that is highly susceptible to a stunlock (just stun Ares and deal with the CD tiles normally).

I don't think there's a clean solution to this until Spiderman is nerfed because as long as Patch can get away with Berserker Rage without facing any meaningful drawback, even most 230X3 battles don't take very long so they must be the norm to even have any kind of meaningful placement when dealing with high end players.

Yes, but this is assuming that everyone who face 230 has Spidey blue.
  • The chances of getting an actual answer from someone not named IceX seem to be slim to none. I appreciate what IceX does, but in the grand scheme of things it is not enough.

That really depends on what kind of grand things they are scheming.

You assumed that their grand scheme is to make this game fun and fair to everyone.

What makes you so sure that their grand scheme isn't to earn more money?
  • Yeah, *sarcasm*, some of us do not have Spidey with 5 in blue, or a usable Patch, or a 5 blue Hood.
So far I'm consistently having problems with the final Magneto fight in Russia, because it rules out the mStorm-Spidey-Venom combo. But I will try my luck a few more times.
Already tried the Spidey/Venom combo anyway but just can't generate AP fast enough.
Maybe cStorm, Magneto and Daken could work? I finally got the final green cover for cStorm from last sub rewards. Daken puts strike tiles, Magneto generates blue for Storm and fires red sometimes, Storm stuns and generates AP with green. If only my guys could live long enough lol.
  • I followed my own advice and beat the Moonstone-Juggs-Ragnarok one, yay! Didn't get 3700 pts thanks to beating some other Russia fights, but still, GLORIOUS.

That was close, ladies and gentlemen. But what a thrill! My team was a lvl 37 3-2-2 Magneto MN, a lvl 74 5-5-3 cStorm and a maxed Daken.

I didn't use any stockpile boosts since I had wasted them already in vain, but I did use a crapton of damage boosts because my guys needed it. I sacrificed Magneto somewhere midgame (pity, he just had enough purple for a second Polarity shift) and allowed Ragnarok to use his powers a couple of times to trigger Tempest. Highly recommend this team to anyone who lacks a reliable stun and/or Patch.

The PvE rating rolls over to the next event, so if you have level 230 enemies at the end of this event you will have level 230 enemies at the start of next event, so whether you get to level 230 initially in 3 days or 9 days becomes less relevant. It sucks according to everyone except devs it seems, but they don't play the game. In my opinion scaling should reset on every tournament & perhaps every subsection to allow people to play through each mission in the story-line at least once, but scale up after each fight.

Im not sure about this. I was facing 230s last event (the final nodes), but now I am not facing any at all. And the other goons I faced were 100+, but when I started this event (even now) I'm facing goons that are <100.
I was also facing all 230s in TaT, although things might have reset after that.

If there is carry over, I have no idea why I'm facing such low levels.

I am in the same boat. At the end of the simulator i had wall to wall 230's in both easy and hard mode but at the start of this one they were in the low 100's. The levels increased during the event though. Maybe there only a partial reset for example depending on how many missions you kill. If you grind each mission to 1 point each time the game things its too each and it does not drop if you only do each mission once it tries to make it easier for you?

Wowwee. That Psylocke mission was tough. I actually swapped out Patch for MN Mag.

I've been doing the same. Much longer matches (like the proverbial pulling of teeth), but far safer.

if you have this setup - 1. http://i.imgur.com/LoH3yOM.jpg 2. http://i.imgur.com/i4jaFfT.jpg it can much be easier icon_e_wink.gif

I do abuse Spidey a lot in PvE, but he only has a lvl 3 stunlock, so it's not reliable on its own.

Did you read my post above? icon_rolleyes.gif I did. And failed maybe 2 or 3 times. I will doubtlessly try Spidey/Venom again, or some other damaging combo. For the time being, cStorm and Daken worked fine for me.

  • Hi, can someone tell me if Rescue Mission: Russia V, is repeatable? Or can you only do it once for the 1000 Iso?
