It seems tanking in PVE doesn't drop the "boss" missions... at least not in the last 2-3 events. It would drop the levels of the easier missions, but the really hard ones never seem to go down in level with tanking.

I lost one twice (bad cascades) and it dropped about 10-15 levels, but it was back up a few hours later when I actually could have tried it again.
So there is no way around it? Once you get to the 200+ group you are stuck with it for the rest of the event? This is beyond lame.
  • Are you going to do the honorable thing and wait for them to revert?

This is Nemek we're talking about, even with heroics for the most part they would just turn in to iso for him, maybe some psylocke covers icon_mrgreen.gif

Yeah, tokens just represent ISO to me. It's been a really long time since I haven't had a character cover-maxed by the time they've made it to the standard/heroic packs. I'll either cash them in when I need a small influx of ISO or if I miss a cover-max somewhere along the way.
  • I'm in second place in my main PVE bracket. The two essential missions in the Russia sub are worth over 2K tourney points. Is everyone seeing that? Once I finish them later tonight I'll be miles ahead in main bracket.

No, not just for the rest of the event, for the rest of all PvE eternity. Different people started the event with vastly different difficutly levels, so it's clear that there is now a global PvE MMR, just like with PvP.

And just like in PvP you have been punished for playing too good. Welcome to the logic of MPQ. I'm sure the voices in the heads of the developers are telling them that it all makes perfect sense.

    Stupid DA captured MechaFury again.
  • Beating the 230X3 isn't 'too good'. It's about the minimum requirement to be competitive at the high end. In Simulator Basic, only one mission turned out to be too hard at 230X3 (Devil Dino + Bagman). As long as Spiderman isn't nerfed, there is nothing elite about beating the 230X3 at all, and you don't always need him either though he certainly makes things way easier.

Not everyone has Spiderman with 5 blue covers. And being "competitive at the high end" is hopefully a joke. I would agree with you if this was PvP. But it's PvE. The "high-end" I'm competing against by fighting those 230 enemies are people with mid-level 2* teams who get handed cannon fodder encounters. There is nothing competitive about having to play against people with an insane handicap. It's a farce.

I agree that it's doable to beat the 230X3 fight but when the first fight is trival then the very next fight in the sequence is deadly, there is a problem I think.

They have several different levels, Trivial, Easy, Normal, Hard, Deadly? I think they changed the wording from Impossible to Deadly, so I think there are 5 levels of difficulty. I rarely see the easy, normal.

It would be nice to hear from Demiurge Will if they are still working on this and this is a known issue, and that community scaling needs to be done away with.

I wish the update would have come after this event. All of my fights are 230. No AP boosts makes these impossible against non countdown characters. Can't always win ticker battles either. I don't get it. Now the game has more to do with luck than strategy. Hoping you get a good starting board. All mobs can one shot almost any character. I certainly can't one shot a 230 however happens regularly to my characters. Wheres the fun? A gone for me now. I cant unlock new boosts unless i win. I wipe every time now to 230 teams no matter what setup i use. All my characters I use are max level as well. Now the only battles I can beat are level 26 battles .

Sucks bad. And I was spending lots of money too. Now I'm done...so they are losing money now as well since I know no matter how much I spend I can't win 230 fights without AP boosts which I have no idea how to unkock without winning.

    Bums me out.

This is beyond f*cked. I just had a 30 minute (THIRTY MINUTE) match to get past the second fight where every character had 12k health, and the guy at the top of my bracket has one of the $hittest rosters I have ever seen.

How can this be considered fair, or fun? Why are they learning nothing from every single PvE event?!
  • If the revenue ain't broke, they don't fix it.
  • Is this your first PVE? The **** roster people at the top of the brackets are likely participating in their first PVE. They won't get to steamroll the competition a second time I'm sure.

Certainly there could be a better pacing between the first fight being level 23 and the next one is level 230, but having fights end with level 230 is nothing unusual in PvE.

The problem is that even at 230X3, there are enough people beating them that there's no reason to lower the difficulty. A mission that was actually hard to beat like Devil Dino + Bagman was lowered by the community due to repeated failures. I noticed some of the more nasty combos of the DAs dropped to 215 for a while. It might help if they cap something at around level 180-200 if it's not one of the big point missions.

Agreed. While it's obvious that the starting level 26 mission was capped, I'm still surprised to see that the easy mode labs haven't been capped yet. The scaling does seem significantly better than the simulator's scaling though (I'm seeing ~160s at the beginning instead of 200s and its halfway through the event), but grinding through the eventual 230s is going to prove quite tedious over the next couple of days...
  • There should be some kind of cap based on the base mission values.

Let's say we have a 50, 100, and 200 point mission. The could be capped at 180, 205, and 230 respectively. While I don't have a problem with the scaling in general and it'll still work even if everything scales to 230, putting 230 on the easiest missions is a bit of overkill.

icon_lol.gif You don't have any characters that you want to respec? Bah. Who am I kidding? You probably did all your characters right the first time. You were the one who clued me into the 3/3/3 strategy until you know how you wan to use the character... That works way better than my previous method of adding any cover until it is maxed and then deal with it.

Post if those covers change back to standards or into something else. Thanks!
  • Wowwee. That Psylocke mission was tough. I actually swapped out Patch for MN Mag.

I think it just scaled too quickly. If they could stretch it out some so that by day 8 and 9 it was level 230 guys all the time, I could live with it.

For me it just seems like every fight is a knock down drag out fight when only a few days into the event seeing mostly all 230 guys. Not all but most of the fights are maxed level.

If the event was 3 days, I would say they did a great job, but since the event is 9 days or whatever, its way off. They need to tune it down like 5 notches.
