This is why I like 2* Magneto alongside Spidey- once you set off his purple even once, you'll probably be able to keep up Spider's stunlock on everyone for good.

I don't remember having an issue with that one anyway. Must have just switched Classic Storm in for Spidey. On a heavy green board it would be a bugger, though. I don't think I did that one more than a couple of times on the hard mode, lack of Spidey is probably why0 -

I'm about to cross 50,000 - I've got like 45,000+ now - so I've just about gotten to my target. It's a long look at a lot of nothing after that; I"m probably just going to try to ramp up the ISO. If Hood is the boosted villain, I"m not going to get anywhere; I've got a 0/0/1 15th level Hood.
I can't wait. I have a 3 black 0 purple Loki, 1 cover Classic Mag, 3 cover Doom (at least he's useable and has a legitimately useful ability, rather than being a complete load like Loki was) but a 4/1/2 level 66 hulk....0 -
Devil Dino wasn't actually too bad. I used Hulk/Magneto/OBW. Collect 5 blue and take many, many extra turns. Make sure you put Hulk in front and he's pretty much guaranteed to use Anger from each hit from the opposing team. I had 30 red 30 green at multiple itmes and Smash does 5K which is pretty respectable (make sure you don't hit your own team though), and a Thunderous Clap with 30 green is pretty hilarious too. Guessing Storm could've been used instead, but someone's got to take the hits!0

Was OBW mainly there for the AP stealing? Whenever I think a ton of green, I usually think Punisher or Daken for Mags to abuse strike tiles with.0 -

So give them exactly 7 green AP and hope they save it for Judgment (8) instead of Prehistoric Bite, and then hope the steal tile doesn't get destroyed or that Devil Dino just besides to bite someone's head off. What can possibly go wrong?0 -
Ok can someone explain to me what exactly is going on in this fight I'm in? I'm doing the DD/Xforce/Pyro fight on hard mode, and every time the AI team matches, the Pyro is the one doing the damage. What's making this happen? I don't like getting hit for an 800 damage 4 match0

All the goons are equally strong in every color so it is likely they use the goon's tile match strength on the colors where the heroes are lacking.
That said that's a very small price to pay for a match where the Pyro doesn't use Flamethrower because the AI is always saving up for X-Force.0 -
Use rainbow AP + color AP boosts... that's the only way to get the 2500 ISO for me in hard.0

The match damage is still based on the highest of the 3 characters present, and if you click on the character info you can see that goons generally have amazing tile strengths compared to similar level heroes. Even when you fight all 3 goons, you'll notice that their cascades does significant damage. In fact, they're likely far better than any hero when it comes to tile strength because they're always equally strong in every color. I checked that mission and the Pyro has 103 in all tile strength at level 230. Only Daredevil has a higher match strength in a single color, so their team will use the Pyro's 103 strength for all the other colors.
In fact the presence of goons means you really do need someone who can tank, because you can't count on avoiding the strong color matches at all.0 -

Was playing the Mags / Loki / Rags sim, with Doom / C Storm / IM40.
That cascade-o-trons were hitting big for the enemy. In one match I swear the following cascade led to them gaining 6+ of every colour. I had 3 black to get for summon demons when Loki moves the board and swipes the remaining black, followed by a line 5 red. A couple of shots later I get Storm's green full, only for her to be wiped by Mags, then a cascade of death. Finally fire Summon Demons and start grinding them down. Rags Thunders then Gods, and Doom is on the ropes. Mags is down, phew. Chip chip chip - Doom is gone before I can fire Summon Demons a second time. IM plus remaining demons finally down Rags, IM is on about 400 health while Loki is >4000. Aww ****. Even just using Illusions he's going to wipe me quickly.
Then I hit an uber cascade. IM goes from have 3 red to 15, just like that. One Unibeam later, and I've won. Holy ****, my heart was pounding!
It's moments like that, that make this game worthwhile and so much fun. It shouldn't always be a walk in the park.0 -
I find the big 2500 iso mission fairly easy this round. I'm using Daken, OBW and Ares. It takes a while, but once the Flamethrower guy goes down, you've basically won. Feels good to use Daken to disarm Daredevil traps.0

So due to rain and wind storms, my internet was off from around 1930 PST 02/15/14 until abour 0200 PST 02/17/14. I missed the end of one sub event and wasn't able to hold onto (or push) for top 50 in either. Now I can play and the missions are pumped up from where I assume they started, but I'm so behind in points it'll be rough to get to top 50 (I guess rubberbanding can work for ya sometimes). The main source of my sadness is that I was knocked from ~60 in main bracket to 214. Missing all those resets seem to have crippled me in this event and my hopes for getting at least one Psy cover.
Do you guys think it would be possible (or feasible) to try and regain that ground lost, or just write it off?0 -

I wouldn't say reliably, with boosts I've got a chance. My top dogs are Spidey, Patch and Punisher at 90+. Followed by a handful of 60s. Doom at 41 is pullin beast mode so far. Debating pumping Storm up to see how she plays while buffed but she's only 16 and I dumped everything I had on Doom to take advantage of his buff.0 -

Don't level Storm if she's only 16, Spidey + Punisher at 90 should be already enough to beat each level and Doom will carry you this round. Hulk will be uberbuffed next round I think, if you have him at 30 or 40 you should be good to push into Psy reward range again.0
