How many Alliances will make it through Round 8?

  • Shadow Evolved has 1.6 million to go. We *may* get there. Either way I think the alliance exceeded all of our expectations. And congrats to everyone else who made it.

This thread alone is pretty much why the glactus event likely won't be changed, why the anniversary bull-**** will be looked at as successful.

Based on past actions alone, even if you say 'yeah our alliance beat it but it wasn't fun' they don't care very much about that.

They'll use this as a bench mark. Congrats on cyclops though.

its sorta frustrating considering how advanced some of the rosters of said alliances are.

Well, it still sort of depends on the buy-in for 2nd run. I think alliances went into it thinking: Anniversary!
Double Iso! New event content! ....and assuming all of those things meant "fun!" (for the most part, they did last year).

Now reality has set in - we'll see how many run it as aggressively next time.

So with about 6.5 hours left in the event, 24 alliances report finishing already and another handful or two will likely finish before the end.

My own alliance finished Round 7 with less than 24 hours left, and we all basically stopped grinding at that point to conserve resources for PVP. I would guess that a significant number of alliances did the same, so the final results will be tiered, rather than a smooth distribution. I really wish I could see my whole alliances's leaderboard. Our top players were in the 750-1mil range when we stopped grinding. Not sure what the bottom scores were.

I would guess that we have gotten info from a large percentage of the teams that did finish the event, but this thread didn't get as much data as I would have liked on which tactics were employed by successful alliances.

A fair number of people reported using the force quit trick in rounds 6-7, but several people said they didn't use it as much in round 8. Perhaps that was because of the development of the various Hulk fueled strategies? From my perspective, it seems like everyone hit Round 5, realized that standard strategies don't work in just 3 or 4 rounds and flipped out. then about 12 hours later the force-quit trick started circulating, and while it was a pain a the ****, it was clearly better than any alternative at the time. And finally, sometime on saturday, people started using hulk to proc anger, and that seems to have become the dominant strategy.

And it also seems that many alliances just didn't figure out what to do about round 5 and 6 fast enough, and then effectively got locked out of finishing Round 8 by the time they sorted out their tactics. I know that I left many hundreds of thousands of points on the board in rounds 5 and 6 before the best ideas reached me (sorry team!).

You seem to have missed Darker Matter, Dark Matter's sister alliance. They finished as well. icon_e_smile.gif
  • Thanks Ducky. Think we should be sixth in that list. icon_cool.gif

Sworn Enemies have competed the event at a nice leisurely pace.
Back to the usual grinding now.

So if 30 or so alliances complete round 8 and add in for those that could have completed but stopped, what percentage of the player base is that?

Of the 30 that completed it, how many thought it was fun?

One positive side (can't believe I am saying that), it shows you how much loyalty some alliance members have to continue to get pounded for measly individual awards with no shot at the legendary so that their alliance can try to complete as many rounds as possible.
  • You can add Best X to the list.

Best Hybrid should be joining the list before closing as well.

I don't think I've seen anyone in chat describing the event as fun or interesting since, at best round 4.

Extra Load (lock and load family) also completed Rd 8.

Edit: Extra Load is a temporary collaboration of Lock & Load 2, Extraordinary and Lock and Load pve set-up for event purposes.

KA Jedi finished at the end of refresh 8. The one that ended at 4am et us on Sunday.
I know many on the team had to force quit but I didn't have to at all for last two clears of round 7 and all of round 8. There was one magic bullet team for those rounds hulk gsbw px. I lost a few but big G was at < 3k every time. I had a >80% win rate over the final run.
  • Werealsoclever has also finished round 8. Best part of finishing is that we won't have to do this anymore!

All I really ask is that even if you guys complete it, submit a ticket, do something, make your voices heard some-how so content like this isn't what we see. Out of all the original content of the last few months (which isn't much to start with) this is the worse.

Oh I have had my **** hat on all event.

Cs ticket for pvp no rewards, galactus 0 point clears, no round 8 reward(maybe end of event so that's fair) and one other.

End Game is roughly 2.4mil health left with less than 8 hours to go. Not sure if we will end up making it. Either way, I plan to submit CS tickets complaining about the server downtime that made many in my alliance miss the initial few clears as well as how terrible this event was.

More alliances admitted to force quitting than is reflected in the op post. Even browsing this thread makes that clear.

Gah...Was just typing something similar. Xellessa beat me to it. Small adjustment for X can be made. XMenSeven is mainly comprised of X5 members combined with some X0 members. You can bold XMenFive in 53rd instead.
  • Chaos League will finish just after refresh. Under 200k.

I suspect that this is right. No alliances have denied force quitting, and I think it's fair to assume that everyone did some until/unless we hear otherwise.

I know some of our guys were using the force quit loophole. I used it myself several times before trying the hulk team (without this team, even the loophole wasn't a guaranteed successful clear), and after discovering that team layout I only had to do it once more because the board was literal tiny kitty. Zero purple matches available, and no way to get hulk in front to tank the countdowns. Being one of the guys on the team that had the roster to make full clears, I didn't want to risk leaving points on the table and screwing everyone else over, so I pulled the plug in that fight.
  • Chaos League completed round 8 with our last two kills at reset. 5 people reached progression.
