  • Is it one of every colour of every power?

That's a lot of bonus HP and ISO icon_e_wink.gif

I doubt I'll enter. And since I already have a 5/5 Doom I guess I won't worry too much about placement in the DD tourney.

Anyone did a run for it at the end of the lest Elite Event?

I wonder if you could build an early lead, shield for 24, unshield, fight one or two, then shield for 24, then unshield, fight one then shield for the remainder. Can one of our forum game theorists / economists calculate the value proposition of this? For normal tournaments a score of 650 pretty much guarantees a top 50 placement, right? So I wonder, what's the magic number to guarantee break even point?

do what I did and get her to play the game. Spent 20 bucks to open up some roster slots and now, the complaints have gone way down....
  • This is gonna be an expensive endeavor...

That strategy loses to the guy who constantly shields so the question is how many people will be constantly shielding? The cost of shields went up by 50%, so it's reasonable to assume less shields will be used, but how much less?

I recall the top score last time was 1400? It's certainly above 1000. However, I can only see the top 10 (didn't participate in the last tournament), so it's impossible for me to say what's the spread of score outside of top 10.

My final score was 1119 for the last one. But, there was the bug with seed-team matchmaking, so I'm not sure that's an accurate benchmark for this tourney.

I did. I entered early, won't shield and do a run in less then 8 hours. I was 35 and then droped down to 68placed. After that I shielded for 8hr and ended in top 100. It is really hard to find a decent oponent bcos shielded guys are not showing in matchmaking
  • Ends in the middle of the night for me... again. So no thanks.
  • I don't really get why people are complaining about how this tournament is P2W. Think about it as an extra for hardcore players to have something to fight over. It's not like this took the place of some other tournament, since the standard Daredevil tournament is also running this weekend. Just don't participate it in if you don't like it, but don't complain that it exists when it isn't causing you any harm.
I think it's a great idea to have an HP-suck event for the highest-end players. Contrary to seeming common belief, there really isn't that much in the game that's focused on giving them something to have at one another for.

I don't understand why people who complain that established players ate all their Patches aren't ecstatic. No, you probably wouldn't get anything really worth 300HP out of entering. So don't. Go play in the Daredevil tournament! All the bag-eyed competition nuts with no regard for their blood pressure will be refreshing the top 10 and frantically queuing whoever they suspect is going to break shield next all weekend, so you have a much better chance than usual to clean up.

I will sit this one out...I joined the last pay event and it was utterly pointless for me. Good luck to everyone who takes the plunge!
  • There would be a lot of glory for those who will finish top 3 and a lot more disapointed people who spend a lot of HP and won't finish top 3
  • Worth pointing out that if you don't need a single cover, top 3 is worth around 12k ISO and 1100 hero points, and obviously that value goes up if you were considering spending hero points to level anyone.

Also, it's awesome that they changed up the rewards from last time and incorporated some of our feedback (specifically, that high-level players would rather have a ton of ISO than a ton of hero points). And putting walkyourpath's name in lights was a nice touch. It would be cool if all future events have a screen listing all the past winners. That'd probably be enough to get me to join -- ISO, HP, and covers you can spend, but glory is forever.
  • Good luck to all who join. Probably will sit this one out too but it should be fun watching the frantic battles at the end. Now d3 just needs to setup an iso betting window so I can put some iso bets on WYP or Nemek icon_e_smile.gif

While its awesome they upped the ISO rewards i have the feeling that to most of the guy sin this event that 20k ISO isnt much at all when you consider that its takes almost 200k to max a 3*

Threw my name in the hat. The Daredevil PvP is fun and all, but might as well try something new. I'm shooting for top 400 with my 100 Hulk, 88 Punisher and 85 OBW.
  • why can't i make up any ground? i am hovering in the 360s with 136 IM40, 110 Spidey, 85 wolverine while the dude at the top is in the 580s with a lesser team. i play for 25 point while losing 35. what do I need to do to advance? also is it good to skip single didgit point opportunities?

Sounds like breakfast for walkyourpath's team. I also faced a high level magneto, boosted patch and spidey combo, and I got wiped out, even with a hulk, spidey patch combo. To this I say funbalance Magneto mid tournament! icon_e_smile.gif

I really want to enter because all the rosters I see in the top other than the triple maxed WYP team aren't that impressive, but this is a time sink. I wish you guys the best though.

We need a MPQ TV though, with commentators broadcasting updates and the final hour.
  • Too many forum members in my queue!!!
  • Question: what are we paying hp for? It's not like it goes somewhere, it's fake money. A cool idea would be distributing the hp spent among players, first gets more than any one, and it follows the rankings from there. Lowest ranking would just get their 300 back. Good compensation for this event forcing everyone in it to ignore the dd event.
  • Sure, it may be fake money. But it costs real money to get.

High level players have HP to spend to enter the event. New people have to spend the 5 bucks or whatever it costs nowadays to get 300 HP to enter.
