Pool Party Vault

I'm sure this echoes everyone else....
This really sucks, Ice. My Heroic vault had one -- ONE -- usable cover, the DP red.
All the 79 others are duplicates.
Since I was in that group I now have no access to the vault which has 4 covers I would highly desire.
I have never actually spent cash on token packs for this game. If I had the vault, I guarantee you I would've opened the wallet to get those 4 covers.
In theory, I could spend the same amount on my non-vault purchases and maybe get more... But I could get nothing on par. (More likely, in fact, to not get 4...)
What is silly about all of this is that I much would have preferred the jugg vault. As a newer player, I find it painful trying to hunt for the older four stars. There are lots I need. Since I just spent four days grinding my butt off for deadpool covers, I don't particularly feel I needed the pool party offer. It is more cost effective to just buy the deadpools directly.
This is also why I am confused that the devs think a/b testing is appropriate for this. Basically they took half their customers and dropped them off in a general store. A bunch of them say they wanted to visit a specialty shop. So they take the other half and take them to the specialty shop. But some of those wanted to go to the general store.
All the new vaults should have been offered to everyone. I still contend that they data they are gathering from this little experiment is flawed, and they made substantially less money this week off of everyone just to acquire this incomplete data.0 -

DPX Vault has 4 DPX covers for everyone that has it.
Not the same, Not "fair". I did not buy any tokens for the Juggs vault because the content sucked. I would have bought tokens for a shot at even 1 of 4 DPX covers since my odds would have improved significantly... 400% that I would get one.
People who got the regular store front on this "test" got the shaft.
Since it's 50-50 which vault you got, you essentially have 1/80*1/2+4/80*1/2 chance of getting that DP.
Essentially it's no more or less unfair that me getting a Thing cover from a token which I got from making X points in PVE when someone else got a Hawkeye from the "same" token gotten with the same effort. It's the nature of the game.0 -

so now we get to have a thread denouncing this as a horrible decision and how "unfair" it is?
No, that's this thread.
I've been mathing. Yes, the vault is clearly the best odds at 5% for a Deadpool on your first token.
There is an ever-increasing chance of pulling a DP with each token. If you buy the daily deal, and get all 3 in event, you have only a 68% chance of NOT pulling Deadpool on one of them.
Theoretically, the odds of not pulling a Deadpool from your six pulls in the standards is 80%, since the odds are so much worse for single tokens (3.6% vs. 4.7%)
Now, if you are going to whale out and buy a 10-pack, you are better off in the vault too. Odds are only 40% you won't have gotten a DP (on top of your other 6 draws).
But of course, each independent event of the standard token has its merits. There is no limit to the number of tokens you could pull if the odds are in your favor. For a true whale like Colog -- buying 42-packs would still have some value in standards vs. vaults for that reason.
A true whale, however, would just take the straight upgrade path instead of gambling at all.
As someone who took first and got the alliance cover, I already have 5 DPs. My other 6 (will get 1k here and 1,300 in next PVP) could either cost me 15,000 HP straight-up, or 11,500 HP for a 42-pack and 3 standards to have a 19% chance at having gotten NO covers?
TL;DR - tokens are still a huge risk if you already have the cover.0 -

so those who got a juggie vault get 1 deadpool yet the people who get this have a chance at 4 Deadpools... yea that is fair.
no wonder why flocks of people are leaving. (get it flocks with the new falcon coming LOL)0 -
With this, whales have had the easiest time covering deadpool.
5 covers from pve if top alliance, 4 from this vault. 1 is progression.
Wow.
I can use more then just deadpool but I still find the cost of 10 vault pulls a lil too expensive.
I'd rather it be 10 bucks flat then 2 dollars per pull. Especially after seeing tacos give me things like the ultra rare 2 star daken. Might wanna reconsider the only 2 purchasable currencies thing and only one being useful.
My next 'crusade' is definitely on HP being used for everything in game. Its an issue that you need it for everything while iso is solely used for leveling and boosts. (10 iso for resets only discourages 1 star and 2 star players searching for actually def-eatable opponents. )
Hp for pulls, Hp for covers, Hp for shields, HP for the moderately useful boosts, Hp for resetting vaults, Hp for the all important, roster slots.0 -
I like this vault. I don't buy 10x or 40x packs ever, but I will buy the 100 HP daily deals. It's nice to have "decent" 4* odds without having to buy a 10x pack.0
-
Low sample pool, but so far my pulls have been:
Bought a daily deal - OBW Black
300 token - 4* DP red!
I think I'm done with daily deals though for this at this point, I want very few of the 3* covers my vault has.0 -
4 tokens so far, 2 daily, 300/650
3 times I've landed on 3 times i've received a 2* instead0 -
eidehua wrote:I tested my luck with a 40 pack, got 3 4pools, 13 3 stars, 24 2 stars.
I got lucky enough to break even with buying covers, since I needed 4 of the 3 stars, so I got 3*2500 + 4*1250 worth of HP = 7500+5000 = 12500. THough I probably wouldn't have bought 3 star covers (but they were for scarlet witch blue, iron fist purple, gamora green, and bullseye green)
Is that how you managed to get so many DP covers? I'll be taking another crack at your defense later.0 -
Alright, so I got a 40 pack and picked up 3/4 XPool covers. What happens if I drop 400 HP tomorrow to reset it? Will it go back to 0/80 with 4 more XPool covers I might be able to nab??? Probably cheaper to just buy the covers though......0

So is the first cover you get always a 4pool?0

So now that it is confirmed that there are two test groups... I have to say I believe this experiment to be entirely wrong. Mostly because PVE and PVP are very different parts of this game. So I, with maxed 2* roster, am mostly a PVE player. But I didn't have the Juggernaut vault. In PVP land I can get only one, maybe two tokens without paying real money. Whatever results the developers would get out of this experiments would be very much flawed. Dixi.0

first token pull from pp vault was a black xpool. i am happy, haha. others are 2 reds and a purple.
the rest of the 3* i mostly don't need (maybe at most 5 i could use), so i'm eh on buying something like the 42 pack atm. it's tempting, though.0 -
If it will make anyone feel better, my horrible luck with vaults since it began continues (never got a 4* ever). 5 tokens = 5 2*s
3 from pvp and 2 100hp.0 -

Same here. If it's completely random anyway, the rotation in the vault should change after it cycles through all 80 tokens. Kinda feel like they are trying to sucker you in.0 -

I got 10 2 s
I think I'm gonna go find a dark corner to cry in.0
