It almost seems like locked took the analogy personally... I don't see how (because obviously no one thinks someone else is a crab here), that's just what it seems like.

Nope, I just asked. I quite agree with the point made since at the moment it is indeed so. And I don't actually like gambling and feeling like a spider in a jar full of spiders like myself. What I'd like is an adequate reward for time spent, since time is much more valuable than money. I know the devs would have preferred my money but I couldn't give them any even if I wanted to (purchase-banned on Steam). Although I could donate some out of game, I guess.

This is pretty much the most important concept for almost every possible justification of avoiding PvP, ESPECIALLY in a Match 3 game.

As someone who's luck has always been famously bad among my group of friends (saying something considering how long I've played D&D), there's a reason I choose to never shoot for the Top in PvP, and that's pretty much it.

Adequate reward for time spent is subjective of course... But in my eyes, no matter what your definition, it's probably that just can't be achieved in a game like MPQ. Part of the system is based off of luck. That, added into the nature of most PvP systems (where a loss can lose you points/ranking/what have you), means very few definitions of "adequate reward for time spent" (an important concept in any game) will ever be reached.

Actually, now that I think of it, there's a similarity there. PvPing in games with competitive +/- systems is a lot like Match 3. No matter what you do, you ALWAYS, ALWAYS will run the risk of getting screwed by RNG/dumb luck, be it a cascade or six beatdowns in the last minute of days of effort.
  • All in all, it's not so bad. When you have a roster able of climbing tops, you will probably also have enough HP for any shielding you might need. And every day gets you closer to that, if slowly.
I'm a paying customer now, lol, was trying to see if I could purchase HP on my Android account and apparently I can, but the amusing thing is I'm not gonna spend as much time on my premium account despite it having much better chance not to discard any covers I might get (extra extra extra roster slots).
