The bit about being able to start off battles with thousands of damage, strike tiles and 2-3 stuns as an excuse for the upper 80% of players facing level 230 enemies:
The damage and tons of strike tiles issue was fixed by funbalancing Thorverine.
So rip off the bandage by funbalancing the 2 AP cost stun for X rounds, AND then fix the PVE to be reasonable.
Also, thanks for choosing not to respond to the complaints about the progression prizes being listed just to tease people, since nobody's even going to reach the 30k blue DareDevil, let alone the (literally impossible) 50k-54k Wolverine X-Force covers.

  • I screwed up early in one of the villian + 2 guy 230s and lost Spiderman, but to my surprise I actually was able to win the game even without Spiderman as a crutch. Granted if the opponent was Daken I'd be screwed, and there's no way I'd like to do that on a regular basis let alone win like that on a regular basis.

I don't mind a structure like TaT where being able to do a very hard mission once or twice gives you a decisive advantage. Just don't make every mission 230X3.
  • It was a good heartfelt start and I was pleased to see them finally say something. However,
I would like to see them say something about the ISO tax which kills the game for many.
I would also like them to address putting in message boxes so people don't accidentally spend money.
They also haven't mentioned Thor and Wolvie which many folks are upset about.
  • To be fair, it seems to me that the skip tax is not yet implemented and the message box thing didn't seem to pop up until today, so there is still time for that.
  • Thorverine nerf was fine, they want us to use different chars more... except they starve us on Iso so bad it is not fun - literally. If anything, this is the first that should be fixed. Let alone the broken pve scaling.

It has been mentioned before several times you just may not have seen the threads. Not sure if it was in its own thread though.

people are saying the skip tax is in though it just takes a few skips for it to kick in. Some guy said it drained his ISO yesterday I think it was.
  • I seem to have skipped about 50ish matches today, and it hasn't hit to me. Let me go in and see if I can confrim in any way.

I'm clearly in the 20% then, as this doesn't describe my start to a match. I still have lvl 230 enemies though!
  • What response?

The one in which they talked about boosts and ignored everything else? My initial reaction was.... That it was pathetic.

    Here's what I read:

    We want player$ to u$e boo$t$

    Thanx D3.
  • Yeah, whatever. I wasn't even mad about the boosts. But if that's what the devs want to talk about, then ok.

If the +3 to all AP boosts are overpowered (and maybe they are) then why include them in the game? I mean, I did feel like I was stuck using them just to keep up with the pack in tournaments sometimes, so I'm glad their use has dropped off. But instead of rewriting the game's difficulty around the existence of problematic boosts, why not just remove the boosts? Jacking up enemy levels to compensate is the worst possible solution, since that gets us right back to where we started: competition is balanced around being fully boosted. It takes them from an edge to get over the hump in to a necessity, and it seems like that's what they're trying to avoid in the first place.

And it's not like they aren't still available. They're just not available to everyone anymore. I'm sure that there aren't many people spending hundreds on full boosts during a PvP tourney, but I certainly believe there are people spending 10s of dollars for what is considered by the developers to be a game breaking advantage.

lol I felt it was sincere but I can see where you could come away feeling that way as well. I do want the m to address some of the other things. At least they have acknowledged people are ticked off though.

Just not why people are ticked off.
  • Well since they just clarified they are leaving the boosts as is. I'm out.

It makes this a P2W game.

Not to mention ignoring everything else.
  • Just went in and skipped 50 matches in a row. No sign of the skip tax. Possible that someone made a mistake and bought some iso-boosts while in the tourney and didn't notice or something?

I meant that the upper 80% of players are facing level 230s, and that their excuse was the afforementioned.

Very disappointing response and reasoning for the one change they decided to comment on. They want and intend for players to use boosts, just not the way players decided to. Then you make them cost what is coming an increasingly rare currency in the game, what with coming skip fees and rising shield costs, unless of course you plunk down real money on a free to play game, in order to compete fully.

No mention of the skip tax. No mention of the match making. No mention of the horrible PvE situation. I don't care about nerfing characters, as long as the intention of the nerf is realized. Which hasn't occurred. At least one of the rationales for nerfing Thor and Wolverine were to encourage other character combos, which obviously hasn't happened, and is expressly discouraged by having immediate PvP tourneys that feature the newly nerfed heroes, and having at least one of them as a primary reward within range of most players. They are discouraging and encouraging at the same time.

However, I do hope they decide to communicate better. I hope they listen to players concerns, as they have asked us for feedback after all. Otherwise, change that may be beneficial in the long run won't really matter, as the current active engaged player base won't be here to notice.
  • I still think the boost inflation is arbitrary and not based on hard data.

He was pretty clear about it and others concurred it was in. I am wondering if they pulled it back out.
  • Well, they commented on about the only thing that actually has a good long.term purpose to the change. I didn't mind the change to it as long as other difficulties went in line with the understanding that rofl boosting wasn't a thing anymore. I think it combined with the one attack are good for the game and give def teams more of a purpose. Heck, I don't even mind scores being @ 200-700 instead of 500-1000 or 800-1200. What DOES matter is progress rewards and other things not matching up to that.

I might place first n the heroic event but because they swapped out progress for rank rewards now I will be winning 2 daredevils instead of 3 daredevils and an xforce. Not because its progress based now, which ppl asked for and I don't see an issue with, but because there bracketing of the rewards is awful.

I am glad they finally said...SOMETHING. while it is an issue to many as it **** thier offense its a change ppl can get used to as its the same for everyone...and if you are dumb enough to spend hp on boosts well then...I guess I don't mind you winning. Things like progress rewards, bad matchmaking, cheaters, unfair enemy lvl system for pve, etc are what need to be addressed... and even a comment about them ...even if there is no hard set change or info... was needed imo.

Also yea, they rreeeeally should shelve the stupid skip tax. Just tell everyone you are canceling it. Some good pr is probably in your best interest instead of everyone getting to say "greedy misers are going to Asda skip tax soon" despite having no idea what kind of eta "soon" involves.
  • @bahamut

You say that like people in your bracket are at least close to 30k progression.

    I have like 1100 points and I'm top 50.
#1 is only at like 6400. Lol
