Gradually my health erodes and I need to wipe out all of these guys before I have none left, and that requires an awful lot of AP. I am progressing though, which is something. About to run out of health packs so might need to pick it up again in the morning.
Reading more and more that people with 166 characters are facing 130's enemies. So maybe I have just been oddly stiffed on the levels as well.
I personally think this is one of the reasons the event lasts 30 days. It gives you enough time to plow ISO into your roster, beef them up, and win the challenge. A few recipes for success have been shared (I personally made it through with 140 Cap, 120 Hood) and I noticed you have both of those characters leveled around 100. Sounds like an ISO grind is what you need. Level these guys up and you may have better luck0 -
My roster is causing some serious scaling issues on this... level range on the title is 137-138 but as others have said, caltrops and/or flamethrower downs Ant-Man well before I have blues or can counter.
Have tried OBW and the following:
Daken 3*
Cap America 3*
Hulk 3* (actually got the furthest due to anger cascades)
Daredevil (thinking Billyclubs... nope.)
Deadpool
GSBW & Cap
Still - a great event, and very challenging. The 30 day timer has left me slightly frusterated, but not super mad. As others have said, it's a thought and technical fight, not a brute force win.0 -
I did it! Managed to squeeze through with lvl166 Cap/Hood team against lvl180 waves. Ant-Man bit the dust during 3rd wave and Hood followed soon in the beginning of 4th. Luckily Ant-Man had created enough special tiles by then and Cap had his reb/blue AP show going on so I was able to limp through the 5th wave just with Cap's mad shield skillz. He was the last man standing with ~2000 health.
Many forumites (myself included) have occasionally hinted at D3 to make it easier to obtain the first cover for brand new character during the release. That's why I applaud the Ant-Man's puzzlish mini-PvE: a single 4* cover is obtainable with hard work but possibly in very short time also if you're either skilled or lucky. If not... Well, you still have 30 days left to try. In any case this certainly takes the pressure off that 7-day PvE since virtually everyone has another possibility to get one cover for brand new 4* character. As it should be: the first cover is always only an appetizer.0 -
I just want to say thank you for all the advice everyone give me in this thread, I finally managed to do the last node with storm, thor and ant man (obviously). Calmed me straight down, it was challenging and an enjoyable experience in the end (as soon as I stopped stressing about not being able to do it LOL).0

I love this event just as it is. I love the idea of the gauntlet, and non-competitive PvE. But the gauntlet is too much of a grind. This is perfect. Like a Deadpool daily turned up to 11.0 -
I loved it. Tougher than the usual DDQ but fun nonetheless. The 30 day timer making it cool to try and fail, we have plenty of time to try and try.
It took me a few times to make it through the big node, I finished with OBW 94/355 and 3* Cap at 104/353
Purple was used first as AP denial with OBW, used it only with Antman once or twice.
Blue was used first as healing and to froze CD tiles with OBW, only used it with Cap to stun/lock Gorgon on the last wave.
Red was used by Cap to damage and remove CD tiles (can't with blue yet).
Yellow was used to spam "ants ants ants", only used it with Cap once as all the red tiles were "antsy".
I suppose the same can be done with 2* Cap at 355, blue and red used to stun/damage and remove ennemy tiles.
This was my second try with this team. I first tried passive regen with Daken and Patch but Antman kicked it's bucket around third wave and they weren't in good shape enough to survive the fifth wave. I also did one try wth lCap and Hood which backfired in a big way (Hood died before the second wave).0 -
JordonLee wrote:Right, so I need help with the final node. Literally my only playable characters are 2*s with some semi-usable 3* (which arguably aren't even good 3*s).
I have 2* Magneto, Storm, Thor, Captain Marvel and Black Widow fully levelled. The semi-usable 3*s are Beast, Falcon and Captain Marvel.
It is quite easy once you know how to play.
the 1st wave, just grabbing any blue you could, then the AI team can't don't much except creating attack/strike/protect tiles. It is exactly what you need. Why? Your antman can steal them!
Don't end wave 1 too soon, not unless you got a lots of special tiles and AP. Then you know what to do in the following waves.
I use 2 star Black Widow(steal AP, heal and do a lot of matching damage) and Storm(stun and team damage), complete it at the first try.
at the 2nd time, I use 2 star Black Widow(steal AP, heal and do a lot of matching damage) and Thor(team damage with green), completed it again.0 -
Hi guys, I need help on the final node, got to Wave 3 once and wave 4 once. the opponents are level 94. Heres my roster:
Steve Rodgers - 2/3/5 - lvl 114, Grey Suit - 5/3/3 - Lvl 113
Human Torch - 4/1/3 - Lvl 104, Hulk - 5/1/2 - Lvl 104
Spiderman - 2/5/0 - Lvl 102, Ares, Storm, Obw, Thor, Wolverine and Magneto all 94
Magneto Classic - 1/3/2 - Level 78, Falcon - 2/0/2 - Lvl 63
Carnage - 1/1/1 - Lvl 78,
Other 3* that cant lvl past 70 and have all cover for the other 2*s but just not levelled up
I made the mistake of leveling my Cap and Black Widow over 94 (not knowing about scaling) a while ago and its back fired ever since.
What woul be my best team to use and whats my best play (including boost). Thanks for any input guys!0 -

bring a healer, that is original widow in your case. she could also steal AP (you need a lot of blue for Antman and OBW and it also delay enemy from firing direct attack ability) and make big damage with the strike tiles.
try using Thor to do team damage.0 -
Why does this need to be 30 days exactly?
Also Antman is a scrub in the last match. I don't see why they couldn't have buffed him up to a more reasonable level, but whatever I beat it anyway0 -
I have a fairly well developed roster so my final node was all level 198-198. I tried several different team make ups and failing until I read some of these posts.
Using Antman's abilities was very useful especially if you time his blue to steal the powerful countdown tiles. I ended up beating it with 166 cap and 166 hood. I started with +2 blue/purple, +2 red/yellow and +2 all to get cap going. I took my time once getting cap going to get as much AP as I could. I also ended each wave with a power so I could stun the power user first. With my build up of AP and hoods intimidation I was able to down the power user that left me with goons.
Hope this helps everyone.0 -

just as another poster said in an earlier post, giving you an underleveled Antman with full ability would let you know how to use him right. level doesn't matter because you need to use him to steal enemies tiles.0 -
Here is another advice for those having trouble with the last node:
I managed it with Kamala Khan & LCap (and Antman), my enemys were @lvl198
Once you get enough for LCap blue and red you have almost won
Proceed as follows:
- stun non-goon character as soon as possible or at the beginning of each new round
- collect AP while non-goon character is stunned or downed
- care about countdowns with lcap
- finish of last character of each round with lcap red
- ignore antman
- use bosts to have an easier time getting to Red & Blue
=> KK heal helps surviving those caltrops0 -
I scraped through in the end, but it wasn't through any clever puzzle-type action. Ran Cage and IF, I got multiple five matches of Black very early on and then it was just case of spamming IF's Purple and Green attacks as quickly as possible before I ran out of health.
Glad that is over. Hopefully next time I get the enemy levels most others got.0 -
I'm on the team that is most pleased with this event. It hits all the points I enjoy most about this game:
- Non-competitive
- Good rewards
- Non-competitive
- Challenging (but not cheap) nodes
- Non-competitive
- Grind-free
- Non-competitive
- Able to play leisurely for top reward
- Non-competitive
Between this and Ultron, I like that we're finally getting some new (and non-competitive) content around here.
PS: More non-competitive events, please!0 -
After wiping several times on the last node, the team I got through it with was Blade (141, 5/5/3) and Hood (154, 5/5/3).
Tons of positives: Hood steals enough AP each go to keep some attacks at bay, if you get a blue heavy board you can steal Daken's tiles, if you get yellow heavy then drop Ants!x3 straight away, this lets you fire off Keep Your Enemies Closer with highly boosted attack tiles even if there isn't a good share of red tiles down. Nightstalker early is a must, stealing AP every turn seems to be key for me on this node. The only issue I had was Hood is incredibly squishy and the level difference leaves him tanking most colours so he does take the brunt of the damage at the beginning, if you can ride that out though you've got Twin Pistols combined with KYEC attack tiles to basically 1-shot the tile mover in each wave.
It did take a few goes round without boosts to get a Hood-friendly board, but with a little bit of luck or +AP boosts to get your skills off early this team is fairly solid for node 5.0 -

Yeah? Too bad most of the time he's gonna be dead from the caltrops before you get enough blue to even use at an operable time because he has a small amount of hp given the level, good try though...0 -

Success!
I also used LCap (166) & Hood (153).
