I have a question for the game scientists out there. Which of the following do extra damage when destroyed by Carnage's green?
Locked basic tiles
Fortified basic tiles
Web tiles
Charged tiles
I believe this power is the only one in the game which refers to "special tiles" without specifying "friendly" or "enemy". The above are tile effects which are not owned by either team.0 -

The only issue is you're going to take some damage early until you can get your tile destruction/tile stealing/tile boosting going. If it takes you too long to get the AP you want or if the board is unlucky you're eating some damage for a while, costing you health packs.0 -

Doc Oc is no good with Medusa both because he is a 3 star and a worse version of her. Peggy is an acceptable third to hold off the enemy from dealing enough damage to you before things get rolling.0 -

Well if you've got everyone champed sure. For the remaining 90% of us who probably have Doc Ock at the same or higher level than Medusa it could work pretty well. With Carnage supplying the special tiles they work perfectly well without much (any) color overlap. I can think of lots of cases where I'd rather do ~4000 damage instead of stealing 4 pretty meh attack tiles.0 -
Poor Carnage has been nerfed badly. Since he lost his passive ability his synergy with Medusa is not as good as before!0

The really disappointing part is that there was no "rebalance". His red and black powers are now unarguably worse, and yet no "knobs" were tweaked to make those abilities more powerful now that they don't play as well. They kept exactly the same values as before which is especially insulting with his black, which went from free to costing 5. The only true improvement was the diminished cost of his green, but since he'll be placing way fewer attack tiles on the board now, that power will be weaker now too (and it was not particularly strong, to begin with).0

Well... you now have the 'option' to use his Red as a ST without hurting your own team. But yeah on the whole I'd say it's not a gain.0

Idk. I kinda like him more now. I feel like I have more control when I use him. Dropping the green to 8 is great. It used to take me forever to use it, even with Medusa helping with her passive yellow.
The red is a buff too. I'm not a big fan of killing my teammates all friggin day.
The black kinda blows for pve and it did used to scare people off from attacking a medusage team. But it's only 5 AP and I can get that easy. There's more control of when to fire it and combos can come more naturally instead of being desperate to gather other powers to combo with.
All in all.... I like it.

I'd say he got a little more usable on his own since he doesn't drain health packs as much. His raw damage output was nerfed but personally I like him better now.You can use him without doing any self harm now. His AOE is more annoying than useful. His green is much better at 8. I hated his passive, so I'm glad its gone.
I have him champed but never used him before, now I will try him out more often. He's no longer unplayable against goon nodes in pve. His green is pretty good at clearing these maggia and hand countdowns right now, and 8 ap for pretty good boardshake is nice.
I agree they could have upped the damage or the numbers on black aside from just changing it from a passive.

People seem to have not noticed his black also creates additional tiles now per downed character. If Carnage and one enemy are the only characters left, that means he will create an additional 4 attack tiles for both teams, or a total of 12 attack tiles being added to the board every time a skill is used.1

Iceman, Peggy, Red Hulk, Cyclops, and Carol are the best 4* in the game, so naturally they nerfed an unpopular mid-tier character like Carnage who didn't even need a nerf in the first place.

Now that the change has hit I guess I will add my two cents. First off I think this is a overall nurf but at the same time I will now use him much more so I call this fix a push overall. His red is much more flexible and we can still get that solid aoe once we hit 10 red (I think it still costs 7 for the aoe, I have not tested that part yet.) The green is a definite upgrade, I have actually be able to use that as much as the red which is a first, but even though green is better the hit to black is severe and decreases the effectiveness of its improvement. First off, now that black costs something the attack tiles should not be so similar in damage for both teams is discourages it use and it does not plop down enough to maximize his improved green. I could deal with the black power it if it put down a countdown tile as well that put out another attack every turn, or other turn along with the two attacks for each team. Then he would have a little more synergy with the new characters and still build tiles at a rate where he would still be effective with Medusa. Overall his max potential has been decreased (I wont avoid Carnage/Medusa teams as much) but his usage has gone up due to the changes to red and green.0

Personally I sold my carnage. I only ever built him to pair with medusa. He's not needed now so it was more beneficial to sell him.1

He is trash tier now. His black and green are useless now. Even though black is still cheap it still produces attack tiles quite similar in strength to yours, so why bother???? You can use that AP in a much better power, it made sense when it was free, but now? Plenty of black powers infinitely better than this one. Then green is also cheaper, but now you can't produce enough tiles for it top be useful, so you need to bring someone else for a power that it is not that good on the first place. I guess red is more versatile now, but again there are much better reds, you used Carnage's red because it was a very fast AoE, now it is not.
So as I said, trash tier, there is absolutely no reason why anybody should bring Carnage to a fight. I think he is now the WORST 4 of all. None of his powers are good now, red is the only one that it is still decent, but that's it. Even Venom has a good power!
I cant understand what brought the Devs to implement this change, it makes no sense.2 -

Anyone know what level his sell price goes from 1500 hp to 2000? Don't want to waste more iso than necessary.0
