Err, seriously a volverine event starts in a state when patch is bugged (just now in the other direction, granting big swords to enemies)? Or the report was false?

They are tough enemy tiles, I don't know if they are like a massive bug thing, just the way they wanted them actually. I thought there was something fishy about another wolverine cover, I suckered so bad into get him in that tourney. Actually led me to challenge for a IW cover, which was the first time I spend cash. So basically I spent money on a bug. Pretty lame story.

On the second round, I actually was using sheilds to battle for the yellow power. Little did I know this whole damn thing was a bug. A damn joke this game is. That's honestly how/why I spent the only cash I did on this game. They messed up hardcore on a cover, which made him look useful. I spend money, and boom. To me that's a ticket, and a refundable price.
  • You know what's really unfair? having the computer be able to have a level 230 Character when you yourself cannot have a level 230 character even if you had unlimited ISO. Level 230 venom? C'mon. That black gem power instakills everyone. And if you beat that by some god given miracle, you are only given 20 iso? Really? At least give them like 10000 iso or something.

I'm in that same boat lol. I just hope I get a refund and forget this mess. I'm going full blown uninstall on this one. Personally I may just drop steam as well.

Maybe if we had some cheap and accessible to everyone to level the playing field it would be ok?
Maybe if they would put in some sort of reasonably priced boost or something? It could be a really cool feature for those of us without lvl 141 teams. Oh wait.... We had that and they removed it? Who had this crazy idea?

Well, if it's any consolation, none of us are gonna hit that 1000 reward anyway. (Unless you have a 141 team.)

  • Who had this crazy idea?

The crazy ideas are nothing compared to mine.

    My crazy ideas:
    Put in a respec system
Put Lightning Rounds in brackets. Or widen the reward field.
Power up weaker characters INSTEAD of nerfing strong ones.
    Increase ISO frequency.
DON'T reduce points when someone gets attacked.

    I know. I'm crazy, right?

Some if the most ridiculous suggestions ever. You can't have anything enjoyable implemented! Hehe
  • Hello,

I totally agree. I can only play one game at a time and not take advantage of the team I've built up to fight stronger teams than me. It's completely changed the fundamentals of the game in one swoop and has discouraged me from playing in any tournaments. Such a shame that this was not tested properly. icon_e_sad.gif
  • Yeah, I'm pretty discouraged right now. But I'm holding out hope that the next PvE event will be better. They have acknowledged that the L230 **** is unintended.

The problem right now is that both PvP AND PvE are broken. There's literally nothing to do if you've finished all the Prologue stuff and you can't field a team that will make a dent in any of the tournaments.

I don't think they have any intention to fix the broken PvP since I don't think they see it as broken. That's fine with me... I'll just treat it like the lightning rounds: get one or two wins and be happy with a free 500 ISO.

I think they do intend to fix PvE and that will help a lot. It just sucks that so many people had the rug pulled out from under us (people without a solid team other than Thor/Wolverine) and we have no way to really start building up that next team because we can't PvP or PvE. It's no wonder so many people are discouraged right now.

I disagree that he was being pompous. I think it's a matter of how you read it.

I'm pretty unhappy with this week's events and changes, but I think IceIX has been "one of the good ones" throughout.

You are probably right, I have nothing but respect for IceIX, but I got my refund from Itunes for all purchases made in the past month, so I am out! May stick around next few days to see if they revert anything back, but I am not holding my breath...
  • No complaints from me about ICEIX. He's done great. It's the CEO and others behind the decision making who need to get their **** straight.
  • I'm not through playing the game, but I am through taking it at all seriously.

It's not one individual change or another that's triggered that, but the randomness of it all. Episode 3 has been a cluster from the beginning -- starting with a known bug, continuing with another bug locking many players out, mission refresh and rubberbanding rules left for players to discover by trial-and-error as usual, game balance shifting dramatically 3/4 of the way through the episode in two ways, the biggest change without communication. Shields appear, changing PvP in a big way, then their prices go up, down, up without communication. Putting tons of resources into any character holds the risk of sudden nerfs and lack of respecs rendering them wasted. Don't even get me started on the debacle that putting the game on Steam was.

The game is still fun at its core, and the devs are trying. I understand the intent of many of the changes, and agree in some cases. But it's far too chaotic for me to even consider spending money on it.

Just uninstalled, yet it still appears in my steam library to do the install. A bit strange. I don't actively play another steam game so I may just take uninstall that as well. Waiting on this refund thing, since it's through steam I'm wondering how this will pan out.

If it makes you feel better, feel free. I'll state that it's not very effective as a tool for enacting change though. We look far far more at what people are saying on forums or social media than knee jerk 1 stars that come out of a Patch, which happens every time to every game no matter what it is.

I think most people appreciate what ICEIX does here and that he is pretty much the voice of the devs. Saying that, do you think that the above is an acceptable response from a dev when people are ready to rate your game a 1 star? I was taken back by his response. "If it makes me feel better"? Sorry, but that's a pompous reply if ya ask me and thanks for brushing off your customers' frustrations......as if a single change has caused all these unhappy customers.

And adjusting a persons user name from "D3isgreedy" to "I_Have_A_Snarky_Name" chalking it up to "acting like a jerk" is not exactly the best way to reply or deal with to unhappy customer.

  • It is starting to feel more and more like candy crush, which was a huge fear of mine when starting this game, I dropped some money in this game 50 bucks or so but never in candy crush.

I feel like soon I have to watch my fingers carefully because anything you touch could try to sell you something.

+3 boosts need to be back to ISO even if increased. Enemies stuck at 230 because I won the first match, Barely, awful

These changes seem really poorly timed, the weather is getting nicer( for some of the world) and there giving us another reason to set our device down and go outside.

hope to see some decent changes when I come back in a week ( or month if the weather stays nice) or so

So I've backed away from Thick as Thieves and am a lot less bothered now.

I'm primarily a PvE player and character collector, not a serious PvP combatant, and Thick as Thieves being so broken was incredibly frustrating, but I was holding my own with boosts and looked to be on track to get at least two Daredevil covers, maybe even three. Then they increased boost pricing... almost simultaneously, the main event missions opened up and rubberbanding threw scores into chaos.

I felt robbed of those Daredevil covers, and robbed of the remaining PvE fun.

But I'm over it now. Taking it easy while they figure out the problems, farming low level PvP prizes, and back to my former tendency to only use boosts when it have at least 5 or 6 of them from drops.

Thick as Thieves made me a little crazy, that's all.
