Made it to 700 points, no shields, no wall, but of course no one to fight except 14 pointers, and as soon as I get to 700...gang banged like a porn star. Lost all that progress in seconds. So...in summation...boring and dumb and a battle of who can flop the most to each other and spend on shields to not play the greater part of 2.5 days lol. Your system is broke, how many times do people have to say it for you to consider something else...different events, new scoring system,etc.0

I hope I understand this correctly.
I normally get a couple hundred pts in the PvP before I start to get challenging teams which was brilliant. 90% of it was super easy but that was ideal because I need the ISO badly for the tougher teams once I hit about 400-500pts. But right now, I just spent 10...15 minutes in the Heavy Metal tourney. That's as long as I lasted. I got one easy team then BLAMMO! Nothing but challenging teams. Beatable but I walk out of a match so injured I can't go again. I am all out of health with 150pts to my name. I hope this all just blows over because if this is permanent, this is a REALLY bad sign of things to come. At this rate, I will struggle to get 400pts. The challenging teams used to START at 400pts. This also effects my ability to upgrade my guys. Low pts means = lack of ability to grind = low ISO. I know I know they changed the rewards but the ISO I was getting before was far more ISO with more fights than the new changes. Which means the only way I might be able to get decent ISO is either PvE or DPD. And I never really cared for PvE and I can finish DPD during my morning dump. I just REALLY hope this is just temporary or else that seasonal 10 pack might be a dream.
One major problem I was facing was the dreaded wall. I would get to ~550pts and the teams were too hard to beat. It was bad because I couldn't even get top 100 in some cases. Their response to this is,The experience of suddenly hitting a wall and seeing much harder teams is reduced. The upper bound on how difficult a team we match you with gradually increases as it becomes harder to find good matches for you, so you can still expect matches to get harder as you climb higher in an event.

It's still there....
25: Standard token (unchanged)
50: 100 ISO (unchanged)
100: Stockpile (unchanged)
200: 2* (Replaces ISO)
300: Event Token (Unchanged)
400: 25 HP (unchanged)
500: 1000 ISO (replaces 2*)
575: 25 HP (Unchanged)
650: Event token (replaces 1000 ISO)
725: 50 HP (Unchanged)
800: Featured 3* (Replaces event token)
850: 1000 ISO (Unchanged)
900: Event token (Replaces featured 3*)
950: 1000 ISO (Unchanged)
1000: 4* (Unchanged)
So the net effect is that you get the cover rewards earlier, and swap out 1000 ISO for a third, much more accessible event token.0 -
I'm at 4th place in Heavy Metal after being in my shard for about an hour...with 104 points. I hope they drop the season Heroic 10 pack reward down to about 500 points or so because as soon as I got past the fake teams like BaconMagic and Pyromantic I was facing full on 3 star teams around level 120. They took something bad and made it so much worse. Now PvE AND PvP are unenjoyable. What's left?0

To further that, for Heroic tokens, it should show .9% for the 3* and .3% for the 4*.0 -
Before I saw these changes, I was going to, essentially, take this season off.

Wow this new matchmaking system is terrible. Please for the love of god go back to the old system. You guys really blew it this time. Im facing max 4* and 3* as soon as I clear the seed teams. Who in their right mind thought this was a good idea? The grind for pvp has become insane. Please test the changes in the offseason before you decide to implement something game changing like this. I know most of the developers are very casual players if you play at all but you really need competitive players testing the changes you guys come up with. There needs to be a gradual increase to the difficulty of your opponents in pvp not insane match ups as soon as you get 70 points.0

I too am experiencing the awful matchups in Heavy Metal. I thought players with 3*** rosters (I have two maxed 3 stars) were supposed to see 94 ** teams for at least the first few hundred points? Immediately after seed teams I saw 166/153/175, 166/166/140, etc. The teams I'm seeing are the teams I usually face at 550 - 600 points.0

They absolutely do not understand the Big Fish concept. You grow to avoid being eaten and so you can feed on the smaller fish. I've never before played a game that so thoroughly and consistently punished its players for actually playing and succeeding. The only conclusion I can really come to is that they don't know what they are doing or they believe they are getting shut down soon and want to squeeze out as much revenue as they can from health packs. I just don't see why else they would want to **** on their most loyal players.0

For all of you complaining about the Heavy Metal and high level opponents, it's because all of our MMR's probably got reset. This happened the last 2 times they did big changes to PvP, after a day or so it will start to auto correct itself, but essentially someone that had a 1000 mmr is now 0 again, (that's not exactly how it works just simple example). So yes, you will see higher end opponents sooner because you have the same MMR as they do right now.0

Did you read the first post? Its because the way the game match makes has been fundamentally changed.0 -
i think this mode makes you play the whole event but makes it cost more as shields are even more important. Bummed about being thrown into the wolves on the 3 match. it looks like may people are fighting people around your rank, which is good but harder to climb as advanced players are fighting more difficult matches. to compensate, the point matches could get maybe a 15 point boost to current values to help with this. may need to change scoring to a team level based thing.
This new matching mimics splitting players into each transition step(good), however we are all still playing for the same rewards(not good). i know this has been said before why not have the players how one have the option to pass the cover if they don't need it for like 250 HP and 2000 iso and it goes to the next player in line.
the other problem is getting hit so frequently and so hard. if you change the amount of points lost to maybe 1-7 points each hit this will be better and maybe once you get hit 3 times it triggers a 2 minute shield effect so you don't lose so much when you climb. any ways those are my thoughts. disappointed with defensive wins maybe with less boost we will see more slip ups.0 -

Except that variable is gone forever now. So what's going to sort out? Matching is done purely on roster strengths now I believe.
I think it's more a function of limited target selection. How many people haven't entered Heavy Metal yet? I know I haven't. Also it's probably some 4* rosters complaining they can't see 94s anymore.0 -
Another downside to this is that it makes roster variation pointless. I used to like to change my team for the climb, now its straight in with the 4 stars from the start. The conversation about 3 to 2 ap boosts is a bit moot, its just a small change in mechanics, but the mmr change is game breaking imo.0

Not sure what to think about the change. I guess we'll have to wait until the brackets climb higher and see if we start meeting high score 2* teams. It could be that this change has made more difficult the climb to 500-600, but will give some easier targets once they pass the threshold the devs have chosen, if some weaker rosters climb that high. This change makes impossible the strategy I used in the past (join late and climb to top 25-50 in 1-2 hours) because you take too much damage on your way up. At least there are no other buffed characters like in the last few pvp because then it would be ridiculous.0 -
It seems to me from the various descriptions of whats happening that their threshold for "you have too many points therefore you are searchable by everyone" is based on rank, and not actual points. This is pretty bad IMO, as it will basically constantly drag down the top scores to let the middle scores normalize with them. Sounds like now if some people want 1000 points then almost everyone in the bracket needs to get 1000 points.0
