    I'm pretty sure the changes to Mystique were more about stopping Infiltration from looping once you got it going rather than launching it quickly. Winfinite was never fast when measured in minutes and seconds, it was just easy.

    Excellent changes to PVP. I'm looking forward to remembering what it's like to get more than 350 points before I hit a team of max 3* teams (btw, highest cover I have is 110 so I don't stand a chance)

    I don't mind the boost change as long as I still get 5 AP for 200 ISO. Whatever I lose in offense I will pick up with a little bit better defense in PVP. The only downside is a little bit weaker position in PVE.

    The Heavy Metal event is posted in the game but the rewards don't reflect the changes you mentioned.

    Wasn't that supposed to be the first event under the new structure?

    Not to tell you guys your jobs, but the progression rewards for Heavy Metal don't reflect the new structure.

    Question, then, Will -- would a character such as Iron Man Mk40 (who was dev-acknowledged as needing some retuning) coming out of the vault unchanged imply that they weren't at all worked on while "out of the spotlight"? Could he foreseeably be updated while out of the vault, or would a re-vaulting be required before changes can be made?

    Yep, that's possible. We've updated characters while they're in rotation before and will again. (We have no short-term plans for Iron Man at the moment, though.)

    [*]The maximum number of times that +AP boosts can be stacked changes from 3 to 2. We still think that there’s interesting gameplay that comes from +AP boosts, and don’t want to get rid of them, but we’ve come to the conclusion that it’s impossible to balance characters in such a way that they’re fairly matched both when players start with 6 AP in a color and when they don’t.

    NOOOO! Well, at least boost into Nightstalker isn't dead.

    We’ve come to the conclusion that it’s not possible to balance the game for cases where people are using as much +AP as was available before and cases when they’re not. We still think that +AP boosts are an interesting piece of the game, and we want to keep them available, just reduce their maximum power.
    So if your belief is that +4 boosts are as high as you want us to go, why not continue to let the boost be stackable up to 3, and cap the TOTAL at 4?

    I think the characters that you mention were overpowered in a boost-free environment as well.

    Thanks Will. I really do not see Sentry as all that playable though. The people on the high end, want characters that can dish out damage quickly, because while we are unshielded and grinding for points, we are vulnerable to attack. Sentry was the star of dealing out damage quickly when boosted.
    If you made the mistake of not boosting you almost always lost and were most likely sniped just to bring you even more pain from the event. Believe me when I say Sentry is just horrid now.
    Mystaque was only powerful when combined with 2 star.png Magnerfo and vice a versa, but the AP boost helped them.

    I also mentioned Invisible Woman. So if you can be kind enough to maybe RE-RE-RElease her to make her balanced, instead of worse than every three star but Beast and Doc Octopus, that might be nice. Poor Octavius, even bag lady is better than her. Can anybody blame Otto for leaving his body to become Spiderman? Oh and on that note. Can we make Spiderman Amazing again?

    Yep, any Thick as Thieves tokens redeemed after the change goes live tonight will have the new odds.

    And what about buffed 3* in pvp? Is that sth permanent? With boost nerfs, tweaks to match making and buffed 3* competitive players has from now on no distinct advantage on the average Joe.. I dont see why i should bother grinding pve (btw nerfing boost has as a side effect that scaling will now be unsurmountable) for a 4* if all i have to do to succeed in pvp is fielding xf/hood (this team will now take forever to be beaten)..
  • So basically, if I understand this correctly, you made the game harder for higher end players through a speed nerf and increased the chance of getting gang banged at the higher levels of competition...nerfed a mechanism to boost speed such as ap boosts, making shield hops even harder as you are now the target of everybody and their mother...and then threw everyone a bone by changing progression rewards, which higher end players don't really need since they don't need anymore 3 stars. Okay got it thanks!

    And to all of you that think this is a rant it is not, it's just commentary that is contrary to the majority of posts thinking this is all roses and daffodils because they made it easier to get you a chance at another 3*. The wall? Smashed through the wall with a relatively weak roster. Just remember that those of you that this benefits the most, you will eventually be on the higher end of the spectrum...and you are definitely not the customer base they want to appease. Which if the data shows them the main casual player base provides them more revenue then more power to them. I just don't see why you wouldn't want to have the cake and eat it too if you can.

    So even though I may be harsh on D3, they seem to actually be listening to what I'm recommending. This is great.

    I'm not even sure what "succeeding in PvP" even means now. Super-buffing 3*s, capping boosts, and changing matchmaking, it looks as if the devs' goal is to make sure everyone scores between 600-800.
