You know, I joined shard 1 to avoid crazy people that were willing to put an insane amount of work for a game and I had to run into you.

When I entered the shard I was #900, I keep kicking myself that I didn't wait a half hour longer.

Regardless of what happens it's been a fun challenge keeping up with you. Good luck (and I hope you fall asleep midway through your final clear, thanks.)

    Its been an epic battle!

Mad props, I know exactly how hard you been working! You, Daver321 and one01 really brought the heat! Friday night's clear was the roughest, because I couldn't figure out who was committed to the end! I'm gonna be so glad when this one finishes!

PS. I chose shard 1, because I thought no one's gonna wanna stay up to grind for this time slot! Bad luck on my part to find 3 other dudes who won't quit.

No matter how this finishes, Hats off to you!!!

PSS Hats off to you alliance as well. You guys are 5 spots ahead of us (Lost Ghosts). Good luck if you guys are gonna push for top 10. If we reshuffle, its only to ensure that guys in our affiliates who put the hard work in are rewarded with a cover.

i've never seen a PVE where they don't rotate the essential character before. This is balderdash!!

What team are you using for ragnarok III? My best team has a 50/50 shot at pulling it off and banks on being able to get 2x sniper rifle shots off without the match taking so long that rags new shenanigans get to start rolling. I'm noticing anyone with a covered and leveled to 200+ xf/tgt combo can rack up points pretty darn fast, where I just struggle to clear it reliably.

Which one is that? I've only got Florida open now, so I can't see it. I'm usually using some combination of X-Force/Luke Cage/Patch/Lazy Daken/Rocket and Groot, depending on difficulty and availability. My Goddess is still 3/2/2 and at her soft cap at 147th level, so I haven't been using her.

Open again for me in Savage Land, its Rag, daken moonie at 182. I didn't have any problem with it at all on the first clear of the sub when it opened. Maybe i was just having some bad luck with Rags powers actually doing something significant and my own powers taking too long to get into. I lack significant covers for Luke Cage, Ldaken, R&G, and I only just started using XF at all. XF is VERY nice with Mag.stique now with 5 covers, but I've only been using that as a last hoorah before they get smacked with the nerfbat. I look forward to finishing some of these characters, I can certainly see their merit. icon_e_smile.gif

Whatever I *haven't* been able to do, others are either more limited, or just not trying as hard. It now looks like I might actually squeak out a T10 in this, despite a late start and barely managing any playtime in the first day. I was #400 when I did my first clear in the 2 subs that were open when I started, and I'm currently sitting right at #10 even before I starting doing some early clearing in some of these nodes that are already starting to look silly scaled. If not... eh. Despite all the complaints about scale (even my own at times), I'd rather win due to difficulty challenge than to go back to the way things were with having to win because you had to be attached to a mobile device every few hours for days on end. Worst case scenario, I have a cover for the next event essentials, which I initially thought unlikely due to the above mentioned late start.
  • One thing I'm going to say - this event has made me a full-fledged convert to the church of Luke Cage. I hadn't used him much before now, since I only got him to 166 a few days or so before the PVE started, but the more I've used him the more I like him. I realize him being boosted helps a lot, but he's also been able to help me take on some of these hyper-scaled nodes, so they balance a bit.

I began playing in late July/early August, and it was the run of ISO 8 Brotherhood around that time that was my first PVE. In my experience, the only PVE events that HAVE rotated the essential character have been the Simulator and sometimes the Gauntlet (which I have yet to entirely complete). In events where a newly-released 4* character is the essential, they're essential for one of the required nodes, and a different featured 3* has been the required character for the remainder. (Caveat: In at least some of these instances, the essential 3* character has rotated, as with Star-Lord and MoStorm/Grocket in Meet Rocket & Groot.)

If you've a lead of 500 it's already over unless you got abducted by aliens, which is what I'm hoping will happen to puzzlequestm.

I beg to differ. A lead of 500 pts is hardly a lead especially when it comes to a new 4*. A lot can happen in 12 hours. Or even in 3 hours. It depends on when they start grinding, how they perform in each match, health pack usage etc.

There aren't enough points past the 5th stack to make up a 500 point lead. There are two nodes in Savage Land that could make a difference, the second on the hard branch and the second on the essential branch as they both feature a goon that can potentially do enough match damage to matter, but you also have 2 goon only nodes in each of those branch too to balance it out. Of course, all you'd need is for aliens to abduct the leader for an hour before his usual clearing time to make that up, but that's what it'd take to make up that difference.

I guess you can make that up if the leader made a serious misjudgment on timing, but you don't get to a spot like that and then make a big mistake like that.
  • Alright folks I got a 22k lead on 6th place with roughly 1 day of the savage land left. is it even possible to make up that gap?

I'm projecting Savage Land to have >30K points possible so if you have absolutely nothing it's obviously possible for someone to make that up. It looks like there's around 4500 points per cycle so if you manage that roughly every 8 hours there's not enough points left to make up 22K since clearing every stack minus the full one is less than 3X the base value, so they can't make up more than 13500 points if you did your roughly once per 8 hour clear.

Nice thanks Ill probably hit the essentials a few times.

Yeah the Hardcore came out for this PVE. I literally have not had more than 4 straight hours of sleep. I've been catnapping the last 4 days. I really wonder what max level points are for the entire pve. I'm sure that there are some couples that are swapping shifts on the same account to stay close to the theoretical maximum. I know, I left some points on the table.

On the one hand, 8 hr refreshes and count down timers make a huge difference in helping plan out a strategy for the game that works with the real world. On the other hand, 3hr refreshes and no visible timers made it possible for people to really breakout of the pack. Now it feels like everyone plays to the optimum schedule and its just desire, endurance and discipline that separates the tiers.

I think my bracket will finish with around 140,000K. Going into the the T-8 hours, we are averaging around 132 to 133K.

Endurance is going to be eliminated as a factor after the next round of character fixes come in as it'd no longer be possible to grind everything down to 1 on most events without using AP+3 all boosts or health packs, and at that point it becomes a question of whether it's worth spending that much HP in the first place (30 HP per fight X number of fights can add up to a huge expense in a hurry) when you can just save the HP to upgrade the cover later.
  • With 24 hours left in my bracket, the good news is that I'm 27K ahead of #6. The bad news is that I'm 1K behind #1 who has been pretty much hitting everything perfectly so I got no chance of catching up. I guess it'll be a pretty easy final sub since I can't move up and I sure don't see how I can drop a rank. I'll still be trying to hex the #1 and hope he gets abducted by alien though.

Stupid Chuck's shiny psychic head...I have NO CLUE why i decided to play from the word GO(.. oh wait, I remember. The whole Sharting thing from the last PvE), and I certainly suffered w/o GSBW until day 4 (finally got the white whale purpleflag.png cover after the greenflag.png prog from a cardpack.png ), but, barring grevious injury or bat guano scaling, the top 5 finish should be a go (currently #4, 1.5K over #6).

But this event is going to cost me so much.... icon_gamora.png has to go to make room(GSBW was going to be a temp until the purpleflag.png showed up), and at least one of my 2 icon_magneto.png s are out once the NERF hits. It sorrows me to realize this is going to be the last PvE where I swiftly MagneStorm my way to victory. Also, imcoin.png for sellbacks again, plz D3.

Anywho, any alliance need 75 K to make top 50? none.png PM IReallyHatePVP by the 4 hr remaining mark(for slice 4) and I will gladly donate my services.
