With that said, any word on slices?

There is a thread in the Events tab that is dedicated to how full the slices are.

Yeah I spaced on it, I remembered after I posted that. But thanks anyway!

I think Heroic Juggs still takes the cake for worst PVE... but this one is catching up quick.
Repetitive subs, overlapping so that optimal is now every 4 hours instead of 8, and enemy teams that are pulled from the same 5 characters each time, and then the monotonous grind that just the single initial clear of some of these subs require. Count me in already for the camp of "If I win a cover, I won't feel good about it" for this PVE. I guess the smart move is to not play, but that shoudn't be what we're going for here. It could be so much better and enjoyable.

Enemy of the State has some hard stuff in it, Prodigal Sun has some nasty hard stuff...but there is variety in the opponents you face, and you don't play the same sub twice. This PVE seems to be in desperate need of an overhaul, especially now that we've been shown how good PVE can be with 8 hour refreshes.

Only thing I'd add is Enemy of the State is much, much more balanced though. You take damage, you take the occasional redflag.png from gorgon/wolv, prize structure is better, has shareable(!) tokens, not too many nodes.

I dont know if its my bad back acting up or the too many nods in this event but its making me want to just stop playing. Already gave up on the top 50 and almost getting ready to give up on the top 150 (89th right now)

At least its a 4 star that i will never use maybe take a week off and hopefully my disc will stop flairing up Freaking back
  • Only positive thing I can say about this event is the 3 featured 3* work well together.

Featured 2*s are even better. Boosted Stormneto synergy guest staring Ms Marvel for a fast Bullseye busting blast and another AoE on black. I've been using them over my 3*s to clear a lot of the easy to mid-range nodes. Expect even more 2* rosters than usual to do well in this event.
  • We need new villains in the game or the Dark Avengers need to start recruiting some of the existing villains in MPQ to their group. Please Marvel, make it happen!

Came here to see what other people are thinking about this event... well, it's a relief to read I'm not the only one disliking The Hunt.

I started out thinking I might try to get a good placement, and the first sub was pretty much ok but I had a couple of bad cascades and damaging abilities used on my team which cost me about 4 health packs alrady. Then I saw that the second sub was already open, wasn't expecting that but started to play it but had no luck in the 3 essential nodes, nearly wiped and had to use my remaining health packs and this got me thinking: 'Is this really worth the 5 day grind?' Needing mostly green is inviting danger when facing Daken, and after a couple of times nearly wiping this way gets really old quickly, and StormNeto is also kind of heavy on the health packs, so very little fun in continued play there.

Had a look at the prizes, and the cover for top 50 is not really useful when it's the only one you've got in the next event and it probably being an event with split essentials (I'm thinking Rocket & Groot could be up next) are you really missing out when you don't have Prof. X? I'm really starting to think I might just go for the progression rewards and tokens and see where that pace gets me, if top 50 seems possible I might try to get it, but if not... not really missing out on anything I guess, or maybe i just need a break.

Venom + Yelena + Lieutenant = freaking annoying

Spamming Symbiote Snare, a 2-countdown heal tile virtually negating match damage & throw in the occasional Lethal Recon just to keep you from using any powers. Just sat there most of the time watching Venom do his thing while matching tiles away to whittle down everyone's health.

When I finally fired off the sniper rifle to take out the Lieutenant, both Cage & GSBW were killed in subsequent turns. Grocket barely escaped with his life once Yelena was killed by a lucky cascade.

Have I mentioned how much I already hate this event?
  • No problem here w/ the matchups but the sheer NUMBER of nodes is just unreasonable. Who wants to play 30+ games at a time every 8 hours to *maybe* get a top 50? NOT FUN

If they want to have a matchup where there are a bazillion nodes, it should just be a one sub at a time type of PvE.

They are doing fine without any new members, they keep wiping out my team those evil bastards.

That's why they should start recruiting new members, like Bagman or Invisible Woman icon_e_biggrin.gif

Though Bagman joining could make Venom's Devour more annoying than it already is.

Are there any seats left on the I Hate This Event express train bound for Misery, Alabama? Or do I need to wait for the next departure of the Only Decent Rewards For Top 50 Makes Me Hate Life local? Either way, I'm just going to buy a ticket and very sullenly mourn for Professor X. I really like him, I would really like to have him, and would really like it if I had more than the most fleeting chance of having him be playable within the next 6 months. icon_cry.gif

I find that some of the top scorers this event have extraordinary scores. I personally have been playing as often as the 8 hour refreshes and my health packs allows, and I find myself struggling to stay on top 50. the leader has some 50% more points than me, and he already is close to the last gsbw green progression reward, barely a day into a 6 day event.

    just how the hell???

Add me to the list of people that think this event just... isn't very much fun. I haven't even manged to fully clear Florida a single time, and there's still a day of scaling yet to go. I'm trying to ride Stormneto to victory with my 2* roster, but it feels too easy for a poor board or bad cascade to wipe me out. Unfortunately neither my Black Widow Grey Suit nor my Rocket & Groot appear to be very useful with the number of covers I have for them currently. I'm not sure what the intended team to use is.
  • I was able to do full clear twice with Magneto/Storm/Ms.Marvel. The nodes that look a bit hard I add some boosts to start the fight with 2 blue/purple/green/black AP.
In the two clears I used 4 health packs though...

Next refresh I'll probably skip 1 or 2 nodes... lvls of the opponents are getting a bit too high for a 2* roster icon_e_sad.gif

Your only hope is that other people are grinding down because they can not play when the sub ends, and keep up with your consistent play. If you still can't get to 50, then you are in a bracket where at least 50 or more people are playing perfectly.

Seriously hate that all you get for 51 and under is sadness.

If he's close to 18k points he's doing his refreshes religiously and playing optimally. If he's really close to the GSBW cover (30k points), he's grinding like a madman and he's probably not going to place well at the end of the event.

Let's not discount the madman so quickly. Disclaimer: I plan to play each node once or twice for the iso and not even think about top50.

36 hour subs played optimally are worth 7.5 times base clear. This would require 6 complete clears in the last 4 hours.

If instead, you were to play once at 36 and 28 hours, and twice at 20, 12 and 4 hours, the sub would be worth 6.5 times a base clear. In order to match this score playing optimally, a player would need 3 complete clears in the last 4 hours.

Based on the volume and sheer difficulty of the nodes, 6 complete clears seems out of the question for the vast majority of players. In fact, 3 complete clears might be out of the question as well, in which case double clearing nodes for the last 3 clears would be a better strategy.

The optimal pattern is only more effective if you are capable of doing 6 complete clears in the last 4 hours. Otherwise, you need to play with the math to figure out what will be your most effective strategy for a particular event.
