Out of my 3 star team I enjoy DD the most hands down. His high risk/reward game play is very satisfying. I can only imagine how enraging it is to play against him and accidentally activate a trap (except for his blue), and I hope these experiences cause people to avoid my usual lineup over other teams.

His red is absolutely his best skill. It is the highest risk/reward. Because it is ridiculously cheap you can drop them across the battlefield like candy too. If even one goes off it is usually an instant death. On the occasion 2 go off then you are on cloud 9.

His pink is second best, when activated it debilitates the other team horribly. It's true other players usually avoid environment tiles, but that also means they tend to build up because the computer doesn't always opt for them either. This causes them to build up and you can easily accidentally cascade them, it happens to all of us we just don't care because they are environment tiles.

Blue is terrible. I really have nothing good to say about it. You will never stun the whole team with it or likely even half the team.

Positive - You would be surprised at how many traps get triggered by cascades/4 matches. Unless a character destroys a lot of tiles, I rarely see my traps get disarmed from tile destruction. I run with a Punisher and am not afraid to unleash his green.

Negative - On the down side Daken and M.Storm have been the worst matches against him. M.Storm you can at least starve from getting black. Daken has a chance to eat your traps with every match of greens you both make. You are not setting up red traps with him around, he is DD bane.

Overall, if you enjoy a fun gamble DD is your man.
  • DD might work on a team that has two Gold type character, by that I mean guys with a lot of HP that does a lot of damage (preferably too much damage). For example if it was possible to have 2 Thors + DD, your opponent will either have to focus on DD first which guaranteeds the last Thor remaining has a lot of time to use his moves, or they focus on the bigger threat first but give DD a chance to get his traps going. Currently only Thor fits this profile, because Captain America has an insane red so you don't want DD to use his traps over it, so there are no eligible characters to setup this hypothetical team.

A team like DD + The Hood wouldn't really do much because a low HP specialist like The Hood is always going to be killed first because he's still more dangerous than DD and he has less HP, so it's a no brainer. You need 2 characters that are both more dangerous than DD and also have more HP for him to work as a team, and currently we don't got two characters like that yet. Note that BP + Thor neutralizes Thor's yellow, so that probably sets you back more than you gain. Maybe Gold Daken will be the guy that fills the third slot that's needed for a DD team to be viable.

Yea, I think to make it more in-line with the power of the red they should have it stun the entire opposing team for 3-4 turns (if you have the 5th cover).

Maybe it should have the current effect but 4th cover also stuns team for 1 turn and 5th cover also stuns team for 3 turns, given there's a trend to make going 5 covers have a rather big difference.
  • I just want to note for the record that I think it's **** that Daken's (and I'm guessing Wolverine's) strike tiles overwrite DD's traps. That throws whatever balance we've got in the match way out of whack - Daken is even more OP than usual and Daredevil can't even scuff his shoe. Please fix before Gold Daken comes out.

Yeah it's not great for Daredevil users but IceIX stated (when this first came up) that they did it in that way to stay consistent with the affect that other powers have on traps. So I don't think with the current line of thinking that the devs think anything needs to be fixed.
  • Aw. I want DD to high kick Daken for me. icon_e_sad.gif

I think he does need to be buffed, mostly because of the one negative I forgot to mention:

He is absolutely worthless PVE. If he is going to be pvp only, characters should not be able to completely shutdown his trap mechanic.

I have a maxed out Daredevil, don't ask me why, but I never use him. I could get 25000 Iso if I sell him. Should I do it so I can build up a more useful character? What about selling the original Thor and Cap if you have the new and improved ones?
  • 25,000 ISO seems like a lot when you first look at it, but when you break it down into leveling up another character you're not going to get THAT many levels out of it once you start going 60-70+.
Don't sell a character unless you absolutely have no choice (full roster, something awesome is about to expire) because you WILL find nodes in some events that require certain characters, and Crotchdevil is going to be one of them.
  • I wouldn't sell him for 25K ISO. If you have invested that much ISO into a *** to max him out, you mind as well keep him for those times that he's a required character.

if you got the covers and put iso into him no reason to dump him. If you got only his blue cover and put nothing into him and you need a roster slot, dump the **** out of him. As for thor and cap. If you have the covers once the 3* get past 90 sell the **** out of the two star versions. Both are static upgrades(means just raw stats better) from their 2*. Worst case scenario you dont get to used a powered up 2* which is like 120 which your 141 lazthor is still better.

The issue comes when there are Heroic events where characters are not buffed, but completely locked out and required for events... I'd still recommend keeping them, you never know which event requires them.
  • As much as I think this character is useless, even with a full buff, I would not recommend dumping him. Character balance changes are happening all the time, you have no idea if he'll be the best character in the game a year from now.

If you sell him you'll get a nice injection of Iso, that's for sure. But if the devs launch another PvE with some nodes requiring DD, which is likely as they tend to torture players with silly PvE ideas, you might find yourself losing more than you gained from dumping him.
  • I wouldn't do it, looking at your roster you could level Psylocke but I think your main goal right now should be getting covers by using the characters you already have.

You have a good start on Punisher so his covers would be nice. I would take the team you have now and focus on any PVP that gives the covers you need and the Heroic Lightning Rounds.

It's not so much that I think Daredevil is great (although I like him more than most seem to) but rather you've put a lot of iso in to him and to sell for just 25000 seems like a waste. And until you get another Punisher cover I just don't see a good, immediate use for that iso.
  • I wouldn't sell him. He does have use. Situational... Very much so. He has his place and think you need to keep him.

I really want to ask why, but you said not to.

Bottom line - do what's best for your game. If you NEVER use him, then he's not adding any value and just taking up space.
  • He's a lot of fun though, you have to admit.
  • I have my DD cover maxed 4/4/5 at level 15 and he is the captain of my tank team, my only 3* at level 15 for obvious reasons. I love playing the mini game of making the AI get crotch kicked in the head. People lose to the tank team sometimes and you know what happened heh.
