Yeah, if it weren't for sharding, I think that the huuuge brackets they did during the initial run of the hulk would be a lot better.

It's way easier to place in the top 1% globally than crossing your fingers and hoping that there aren't 5 other crazies in the same 24 hour+ joining period

For slice four, I'll try and update in the morning (about 8-9 hours, 7-8AM EST) if the bracket is still open, which I highly anticipate it will be. In the last 13 hours we have gone from 826 to 870, roughly under 3.5 players per hour. At that pace, we've still got 38 hours or so from now, closing sometime deep into the next sub.

Feels a bit like watching the pitch drop experiment.

thats just it, how many on here would be part of that wait and thus make this plan counter productive? are we talking about 10 players? 20 players? or 50?

There's still only 267 players here in slice 5, I'd say if you are interested in just getting the cover for next PvE's essentials, this slice 5 bracket is still your best bet (assuming the end time works out).

The China sub ends in 4 hours from this post (ends 3pm ET), so joining now to take advantage of the sub rubber-banding will get you well on your way to a t50 finish with moderate play.

I waited the last event and barely got in a fresh bracket, literally 3 hours before the event ended. I was also busy at the time, so could just manage 1 fight in each sub just to qualify for sub prizes, ending up with top 50 in both subs and main. It worked out really well for me, but there was significant risk of missing out on prizes altogether (which is okay since I already had Captain Marvel for Gauntlet essentials). I don't want to take that risk with a new character, which is why I bit the bullet and joined in.

Last event I joined the last bracket with only four hours before end, we were barely 60 people overall and I stopped pushing the last 30 minutes 'cause I noticed there was a HUGE difference between me and 10th place, I ended 5th place and got 3 Cap Marvel covers, so not everybody joining the last bracket is gonna grind until ther fingers bleed.
