A top100 alliance will of course aid in getting ISO ( ~ a few extra thousand a week), but the top100 alliance is primarily what accelerates getting you 3* covers. Farming lightning rounds can bank several dozen thousand ISO a week, if you're set on it.
As for getting in an alliance, the other poster was right, there are always openings popping up. One "get your foot in the back door" way to try if posting on the forum directly doesn't help is to get a high (~500-600ish) score in some PVP event and post as a hero for hire. Often, top100 or near top100 alliances will be short a player and desperately hire on someone they otherwise might not recruit directly (my alliance has had players who average 400 in PVP for a whole season or more) -- after the event, you'll often get a chance to stick around. Replacements take time, and good replacements are hard to find. So you can squeak by in a top100 for a while, building covers. Over time you grow stronger and it becomes easier to maintain your position. I joined a top100 with max Ares, max OBW and one decently level covered 3*. I didn't think I would make the cut, but did. Of course, it takes dedication and time played to do this, so each person will have to decide how much they want to put into it, but that's one way to attempt it.dswan3rd wrote:I'm on node 37 at the moment and don't know that I have enough DP points to "whale" my way to the end...hopefully I can make some headway with a 230 Capt. Marvel (powered up). Thanks to everyone for posting their strategies here!
An alliance mate of mine used Hood/OBW/Colossus to clear sim42, and Hood/OBW/She-Hulk (essential) to clear essential 18. Colossus can fastball OBW giving you more recon/heals on black. These team combos just go to show how paper rock scissors the game can be: defeating the heavy hitters is sometimes better accomplished with the squishy AP deniers, like defeating elephants with mice!0 -
Managed sim 38 in one shot, which I suspect is more luck than anything*, but I figured I'm mention my team in case it works for anyone else. I used Hulk (5/5/3)/GSBW (5/5/3)/Hood (2/5/1). 5 green for Widow and 5 blue for Hood are key. You can see my covers aren't optimal, and Widow is only level 115, so there's some more wiggle room if you've had better cover drops than I.
Plan is pretty simple; let Hulk tank while collecting purple/green and denying red. Green for Sniper, Purple for Widow to charge green. Needed 2 sniper shots, and took 2 Headbutts (both to Hulk). Didn't use any boosts, but I imagine a green & purple boost would help. Crit tile multiplier might be OK too due to Sniper cascades & being able to pick your greens.
Nice things about this team:
a) they don't use strike/protect tiles, so no need to deny Loki black.
b) denying Mags yellow isn't a priority since Widow's red & green, and Hood's yellow, are all great at destroying tiles. His protect tiles can stall match damage for a bit, but there's a lot of options for clearing them out when you're ready to snipe.
c) Hood should be able to keep Magneto's blue out of play. This is a little board dependent, but the AI isn't great at focusing on a color, so if you're not matching blue, odds are there's enough for Dormammu to do his thing.
d) if you use Widow's purple to generate a lot of 4 of a kinds, the resulting Sniper Rifle can handle most of Loki's tiles. Which is to say, make sure you're generating enough green to sniper afterwards.
Hope that helps.
* The AI kept getting stuck on 7 AP, which got the AI thinking to save up for CMags's red instead of the Headbutt of death. I don't think it mattered in the long run, since Hood eventually pushed him back to 6, but it did cause a few turns of delay, which really helps when charging sniper rounds.0 -

I'm just part of a public alliance. Also, everybody seems to be Russian. I can't understand the chat, let alone figure out how to get them to send me a Deadpool TU. I'll stick with playing the Deadpool nodes and hoping for a Whales TU.0 -
nimvin wrote:There are literally thousands of alliances that are not competitive. Go join any of them. If you can get into a competitive one great. Myself and 3 or 4 others usually carry our alliance to about 600th in all events then the contribution from everyone else determines if we crack 500 for where the hp rewards typically begin. So believe me there are alliances that will let you in. If not do a search for "mistborn" and I will since we are short members now anyways.
Thanks for the tip - I'll probably look you guys up, and hopefully I can help. my PVE results are hit or miss depending on whether or not I have the time and the essential characters, but recently I've been consistently finishing top 50/75 in PVE, which has helped with some 3* covers of late.0 -

Last one to beat and its kicking my butt.
Used this combo and managed to beat it. Went torch, mystique, thor in order.0 -

Just opened the Colognoisseur post in another tab, so I'll get to that ASAP...it will only really help me with 2*s now (since all my 3* and above characters are leveled as far as they can go) but it would be nice to have some more 94 options...dswan3rd wrote:I'm on node 37 at the moment and don't know that I have enough DP points to "whale" my way to the end...hopefully I can make some headway with a 230 Capt. BP and Thor are powerful indeed, but they take time to get moving, so Hood can trip them up. OBW is another option for AP denial if you don't have Hood, or few blue covers.

Good suggestions on 37 - I don't have Hulk on my roster, but have been using Capt. Marvel throughout the gauntlet since mine is 230 with the event boost - her along with StormNeto has been the go-to trio, so hopefully I'll get a get board and go to work. LCap might be an option as well since I just got him over 100 with the between season PVP.
Thanks for the tips!
EDIT: Was able to get past 37 (though when I used an Anti-Gravity Device TU, it only extended the length of BP's Defense Grid countdown, but didn't boost my health) with Capt. Marvel & StormNeto...finally saw the lineup for 38 and wondered if I would go straight to whales without even dealing with a a trip to Headbuttville...0 -
Any tips for Sim 39? I have tried everything but nothing is working as Sentry one hit kills my team most of the time with either Rapture or Supernova, Hood makes collecting AP a pain in the ****. Characters are of no problem as I have access to all of them minus a few all maxed out.0

For Sim 412, managed it with Sentry, ldaken, Rocket and Groot (level 117, but 5 blue). Turns out sacrifice + groot strike tiles were enough to wipe after WR went off
Also, if you are placing R&G blue (level 5 so 2 turn cd) when WR is at 2 turns CD, place it towards top since CDs pop from top row to bottom row0 -

Xforce
4*Thor
2*Mag/2*Storm
Hulk/Patch
Deadpool Max Whales
CMarv
Black Panther
2*BW
3*Steve
Devil Dino
Daken/Patch/Blade
Loki/Rag infinite combo
3*Mag
Just finished the gauntlet. There's been alot of talk saying 2* players/transition players can't do this etc etc. So for the record: I am a transition player who's completed 3 gauntlets so far. 2 star characters(as well as Deadpool) were essential in doing so. Did I do it all in one try or one day? No. I cut my losses when appropriate and kept trying. Part of the Gauntlet is luck.0 -

Ran this with Hulk, CStorm and OBW. Prioritize blue (Wind Storm), with purple (Aggressive Recon) and green (Lightning Storm) being other choices. Avoid matching team-up tiles since those inhibit Dormammu's Aid. Black's also decently safe to leave alone, since all it fuels is Intimidation, which Hulk can (hopefully) tank. 2 Wind Storm's + match damage should take out Hood & Falcon, letting you stunlock Sentry. As always, your scaling may vary.0 -

Her Blue only heals or increases the count on CD Tiles, until it has 5 covers.0 -
Just beat Sim 42!! Using the most AWESOME 2* team Eveerrrrrr.... CStorm OBW and Ares Boost all Boost Boost
Targetted DP first, amassing blues and pinks. Then Wind Storm XForce, and continue pumelling DP, finishing him off with Onslaught. Stole back the Green with Aggressive Recon.
Then things got real nasty with Xforce able to trigger a recovery and getting greens for an XForce. LUCKILY was able to trigger a cascade that fot me enough blues for a 2nd windstorm. Was able to kill off Xforce Wolvie before he could wake from stun. It was then very easy to kill off lady thor 3 against 1.... BOO YAH!!!!0 -
God, Sim40 sucks. Lady Thor's a monster that singlehandley runs over my team. I swear the devs that do the rebalancing are completely different from the devs that develop these characters. New characters coming in and being able to run through their all their abilities every turn isn't really fun, especially when said characters are put behind the 4* paywall.
Edit: Finally got a board that wasn't 40% blue to start, and the AI gets a cascade for 10 red and 7 yellow on turn one. Seriously, just **** this game sometimes man. Killed my fully leveled Hulk by turn 3. Just a load of **** all around. Seriously, the CPU is getting 4 of a kinds every turn because I can't match them, causing them to use specials EVERY FRICKING TURN. ARGH. AND MORE KEEP CASCADING IN. EVERY TURN THEY'VE MADE A 4+ OF A KIND MATCH. GO **** YOU OFF YOU **** **** GAME. I HATE YOU SO **** MUCH. I WISH I COULD DELETE THIS THING AND MY ACCOUNT FOR **** EVER.
Edit2: So yeah, got mad enough to throw my tablet into the ground and break it. Think I'll just delete this for real; it's basically turned me into a terrible person whenever I play it.0 -
Finally I got my
I really like this gauntlet mechanism, you have to work hard but doing so the final reward seems even greater
I must confess that for the 3rd third I was generous with boosts... and 'all Whales Whales'.
It's nice because otherwise I never use boost so once in a while, why not...0 -
can someone pls give tips for node 32? mags/hulk/GSBW
in what order to kill, what team to use? which boosts would help?
i have ares, thor, wolv, daken, obw, cstorm, steve0 -

i have ares, thor, wolv, daken, obw, cstorm, steve
Id take out mags gsbw then hulk
boost all red yellow green black purp blue
unless you have the plus 3 to all then use that and purp blue redyellow
ur boosted cstorm wol and thor since wol and storm are boosted thor should remain mostly untouched
Im suggesting these 3 since ive no real experience with the rest of ur roster
just make sure you get them blues and stun hulk asap0 -
Just in case anyone is struggling with 38 I figured I'd share my approach/lineup as a player that doesn't have a *great* roster...
3* Capt. Marvel/OBW/Thor - targeted Magneto first, then Juggs, then Loki. Didn't really have a "focus" in terms of tiles aside from purple to help OBW steal as often as possible, but did try to deny them blue/red (in that order) to avoid Magentized Projectiles and Headbutt (Polarizing Force), respectively. The life saver was Marvel's fully covered Red, so I was able to quickly wipe away Mags' protect tiles twice.
This was, of course, after several defeats (including the super frustrating ones where Loki casts Illusions AFTER MY LAST CHARACTER IS DOWNED) highlighted by an Instance where I *thought* Magneto was below 1100 (to be taken out by a COTS as a secondary target) but it left him with ~100 health...trying to multitask with the kids at the same time, I didn't notice he was still alive...so after my turn, Loki casts Illusions into a trio 5-of-a-kind cascades, Magneto casts all three of his powers, killing OBW and Thor in the process, then Juggs Headbutts Capt. Marvel to oblivion one move later.
As for 39, I thought I had a good approach, but Sacrifice + Supernova would seem to think otherwise...0 -
i dont know what ur all talking about, just finished the entire gauntlet, and i only had the one cover of each of c.marvel, shulk, and mystique
gauntlet was really not that impossible at all, only wiped two or three times and it really has nothing to do with luck, just degenerate c.storm+obw combos, i used wolverine for the first two subs and then when obw started taking too much damage i switched to daken to cover my really small obw (only lvl 63 but all the rest are maxed)
i know my highest lvl is 94 so im sure i had an easier scale but it was still challenging as none of the characters i used had much health on them at all, one combo from the enemy and i'd have been dead
its all about how well u quest for the puzzles0 -
Level 395 Dino/Colossus is TOO MUCH HEALTH0
