Main problem is none of the regenerators have enough health to survive being punched, since lower max HP is the usual tradeoff for regeneration. Maybe Patch, but he's softcapped at about level 90 for me. Hulk could take the hits, but the stun the main point of having Hulk take big hits (Anger). I guess he could buy the most time out of anyone I have. At the very least he should be good at making Carol pay for any lasers she fires (assuming Redwing can't eat Anger countdowns since he triggers at the start of a turn?). I'll give it a go when my health packs come back.
Yes, but you said she ALWAYS punches, meaning you need to be prepared for that: either make her waste her punch on a dying character, or make her use a punch on a character that can take it - 3*Steve, Hulk, 3*Marv, etc. Sure it sucks you don't get anger/absorption ticks, but there's no way around it. Also, it kind of sucks, but if you DONT grab black, then OBW can't steal it from you. Less punches that way.
Redwing only eats tiles at the beginning of the falcon player's turn, so anger should trigger . Hulk is a great green battery if you have enough Anger covers....if I'm really desperate to beat something, I'll try to have hulk tank for patch and feed patch....is usually enough to melt faces.0 -

I'm stuck on Sim 35 also. Have to deny OBW blue, CMarv black, and Falcon purple all at the same time - argh! Not sure how 2*Storm/2*Mag/2*Hawk works - Falcon kills any Hawk countdown tile, and I need Speed Shot.0 -

It's a very hard node. The key to killing falcon is making sure the match doesn't last long(catch 22 ). I took out OBW then Falcon then CMarv. Although OBW and Falcon are frustrating opponents, if you can kill them all at once, or save up enough AP to KO(preventing them from healing). It's also nearly impossible for CMarv to NOT get energy absorption once or twice, meaning your character is going to hurt.
I didn't have a problem w/ Redwing eating my tiles. It sounds like your matches are taking too long. Try boosts, stockpiles, or overpowered teamups. Its partly luck. I just take 2*Mag/2*Storm and throw them at the nodes over and over again until they get a favorable board. The third character is really icing on the cake. Also, if you're really desperate, don't forget about Raging Tempest - try to set that up if you can(I'll take Storm/Magneto at half health into battle)0 -
Can someone post the opponent lineups for the last 2 essentials in global domination. I have enough points for 1 whales and I dont want to waste it if another one is more difficult for me personally. So tired of mystique as an enemy lol.0

Essential 18 - Mystique, 4* Thor, Human Torch
Levels obviously will vary, but mine (max roster level 94) were around 215 and 230 respectively (after completing all of the Gauntlet).0 -
Anyone have any tips on Essential Node 18? I'm stuck with a level 73 she-hulk and have the following options:
***Capt. Marv lvl 133 boosted (only 1cover on red and black)
**Wolv lvl 134 boosted
**Ares lvl 94
**OBW lvl 94
**Storm lvl 134 boosted
Last one to beat and its kicking my butt.0 -

You can't afford to let Thor get rolling, so try to take her out first, followed by Torch (Torch has two ways to kill you, Mystique has one). Use +AP boosts to get your powers moving faster, deny red and blue to the AI, get stirke tiles out and pray for cascades.
This was the hardest node for me, with level ~350 enemies. I boosted like crazy and used 3* Daken and Sentry. Eventually I got it, but I may have actually spent real money on health packs.0 -

Why take thor out first when you can stun/ap steal her? not to mention her HP makes that a tough feat. Torch > Mystique > Thor if you can keep Thor AP-less/Stunned.0 -

Enemy levels are 191. I'm going to try OBW and Storm with boosts and give it a shot.0 -

I really enjoy reading posts like yours, as encouragement for folks that have other responsibilities dictating how much time they can devote to the game. I'm on Day 159 with 6 maxed 2 *s like yourself, but not a single maxed 3* (thought I have 3 over 100). I've started to realize (of late) that the best way to progress (particularly in the way of ISO, I assume) is to get with an alliance, but I don't know that I'm active enough to be valuable to any alliance recruiting for members.
I'm on node 37 at the moment and don't know that I have enough DP points to "whale" my way to the end...hopefully I can make some headway with a 230 Capt. Marvel (powered up). Thanks to everyone for posting their strategies here!0 -
wharrrgarbl wrote:Ugh, Sim35 is just impossible. Carol will always be punching by turn 3 and lock up any strategy I have going. And CStorm/MNM is a no-go since OBW stops you from getting AP in those colors.
I beat this one with Patch/Hulk/Blade, with Blade being a nonfactor because he died so quickly. Managed to get a board with lots of green. Hit OBW with Patch. Enemy strike tiles helped fuel lvl5 Anger, giving me even more green to use Patch with. Killed OBW, Carol, Falcon in that order, with lots of strike tiles out.
EDIT: Just beat the Juggs/Loki/Cmags node with X-Force, OBW and Punisher. Also Microsoft Excel to keep track of when I should use Punisher's Retribution (once someone sent down below 30%, I put a bullet in his head). Chipped away at Juggs, got him below 30, killed him. Same with Magneto. OBW was there to steal AP, heal, and keep Loki's CD tiles from firing off.0 -

I eventually got through it by switching over to Hulk. The main thing I realized is that he can tank Green for C. Storm (which can be hard in this event with her boost), which limits the damage she takes. Letting Hulk sit out and grab green tiles long enough to get 30 AP Lightning Storm generating an AP burst large to get around Espionage and setup the Wind Storm chain.0 -

There are literally thousands of alliances that are not competitive. Go join any of them. If you can get into a competitive one great. Myself and 3 or 4 others usually carry our alliance to about 600th in all events then the contribution from everyone else determines if we crack 500 for where the hp rewards typically begin. So believe me there are alliances that will let you in. If not do a search for "mistborn" and I will since we are short members now anyways.0 -
Just finished node 42 w/ boosts 2*Storm/2*Mag/Hulk(hulk didn't do anything, however).
Deadpool took a little off the top, but their team is slow and has no syenergy. Like others have said, part of me thinks they just put deadpool their to keep us from using Max-Whales but I'm utterly surprised how easy that was compared to the last 2 gauntlet's final nodes. I don't think I would've had to use whales even if I could.
Sidenote: yes, if the CPU gets lucky that team will hurt you, otherwise its not a very scary node.0 -
Whew, all done! Essential 17 definitely took me the longest at about 10 tries.
For 18, I sent out CStorm & MNMags, both maxed. My CStorm is 4/5/4. I used to have her 3/5/5, but I'm teetering toward 5/5/3. Either way, her Tempest pulled my **** out of the fire. She was at 350 health. She-Hulk was at about 60% health when she took Thor's Retribution to the face, setting off Tempest and wiping out the entire team. Success!0 -
This is the first Gauntlet I've partaken in. I like the concept of working at your own pace, but this whole event makes me feel like an idiot.
I struggled to go through Wilderness Survival (and didn't even get Moonstone for doing every node, but I filed a ticket) and don't want to go any further. I did the first 3 nodes in Alpine Tactics before Lv. 67 Juggernaut/Hulk/Modern Storm squash any hopes I had of even getting halfway through the Gauntlet, much less Global Domination. My only buffed characters are:
at 1/1/0
at 1/3/0 (irrelevant because I can't use her for this node)
at 5/4/2 (only at Lv. 31 because I don't want to dump iso in and scale the enemies any higher than necessary.)
My highest-leveled character normally is at 5/4/3 (at Lv. 55 because I want the rest of my to catch up.) I've got incomplete , , (all under level 48), and maxed , and . Even when boosting I get wiped after taking out Storm (but not before she sets of Hailstorm). I got close once, getting Hulk down to 500 health and healing with 500 health Wolverine's yellow matches, but he managed to get off Thunderous Clap for five turns straight, then a Smash to seal the loss.
I know this might seem like a far-fetched issue, because most of the people in this thread seem to have a good number of to work with, and I know the nodes in Global Domination are hell, but I can't make any more progress. I have no idea how to approach this mission beyond maxing out AP/damage boosts, which seems worthless because I'm not getting any good rewards until the 900-point mark for a cover, but I truly don't believe I can get any farther even if I take this team out. I feel incompetent for not even breaking the halfway point.0 -

I personally go 5/5/3 b/c tempest will hurt no matter what...I'd only put more points in tempest if you 100% are relying on it. 5 green is good to get to 30 green then make a green/blue loop.AaronTheLuigi wrote:This is the first Gauntlet I've partaken in. Your roster sounds really young. Just participate in events and get level 94 2* characters. I'm not trying to discourage you, but as your roster blooms so will your success in events like these.
But gauntlets especially are 60% luck. I assure you no player is having an easy time with this event, whether they only have a level 1 iron man or they have level 270 Xforce/4*Thor.0
