In reguards to the skip cost max cost per node at 100 to 150 iso would be ok by me as I have spent 300 plus getting the same 5 sub 15 point match ups so often its not funny spending 3 minutes skipping the same teams is just not cricket chaps0

Feedback so far. Once the scroll issue was fixed I selected the last slice and I've earned the points that the matches were worth. It was interesting that I got the seed teams queued up when I started. Low scoring leaderboard so far with only 4 people above 600 in my bracket.0

Haven't had a lot of time to really play last couple days. However it appears the 1300 progression reward is now really hard to achieve? Also, I actually enjoyed the mad rush at the end of events with the entire MPQ community. Kind of anticlimactic now.0

This event has been a train wreck for me! Firstly, as most were surprised to find, the event automatically started when I picked my time. A heads up would have been nice but whatever...I'll just start and take my time climbing. Things seemed to be going smoothly for me and I had none of the problems with points not registering that many are having. Last night I got a defensive win that pushed me over 500 points and it was like a switch flipped! I went from getting attacked around 10 times the entire event to 10 times in 15 minutes for 100 points in losses. Bear in mind I hadn't played for nearly 12 hours before hand so it wasn't a mass retaliation bomb. It was the same team I had up for hours with no attacks other than the one win pushed me over 500. Again, whatever..that's weird but I'll get it back. Umm...no I wont. **** is with the matchmaking? ? I spent over 2k on skips and couldn't find a single match over 21 points. Even the maxed teams I was getting had less points than me. Not to mention it was the same people over and over again. I beat one poor guy twice in a row. Beat him once and the new node that popped up was him again! I'm in roughly 150th place at the time so there's 150 people with more points than me in my bracket alone, let alone all the other brackets in my time slot. Why are none of these showing up? Just skipping the same people over and over again. Or beating them over and over again for 20 points.
Despite all this **** I crossed the 500 point line again and there's that switch again. Bam!! Attacks coming in almost as fast as I can skip them cuz they're worth no points. Back to 425 and the attack onslaught stops. I'm pissed but not giving up yet. Get a victory or 2 and back to 480 and what do I find?? I hit the freaking wall at 480 now. Can't even skip to find one of those **** 19 point matches now.
This will be my lowest pvp score since I first began playing the game over 100 days ago. I'm all about being able to choose an end time but this current system is a broken steaming hot mess!0 -
This event has been absolutely frustrating and aggravating.
For the record, I chose the second time shard, as it was the second most convenient end time for today. The patch fixed the scrolling issue after I entered, and I probably would have joined the last ending time had it been available. I also did not receive around 80 points from matches early on, but oh well, right?
Many people have voiced the following similar opinions, but here are my personal gripes:
1) I don't know why you decided to beta test this feature on a PVP and during a season event. It has been well documented that time issues greatly affect PVE, so why implement it on PVP? I appreciate the option for different end times, but I would rather have the choice of a large pool of players to attack and then shield out instead of having to be so dependent on the 10 big scores ahead of me to unshield and *hopefully* find them in a node. I don't need to elaborate on how this influences season scores, standings, brackets, but yeah, this event has messed that up too.
2) Due to the aforementioned small selection of players per the non normal end time shards, the points available have been a joke. I went up to over 800 last night (a score I would not normally shield at), which I ended up shielding at because I was in first and everyone else I pulled up was below me. By the time this event ends, I will have spent twice the amount in shields I normally do and I'm not even close to the black xforce cover. Under the old system, I would have hit at least 1200, if not already crossed the 1300 point barrier thanks to targets available.
3) Speaking of spending... SKIP TAX. I'm not alone in this. I know for a fact others have spent double of what I have, but I have spent 10k ISO skipping targets. As previous posters have mentioned, a good percentage of them were 400-500 and only worth 2 or 3 points. The game has changed since you implemented the tax. I don't think the devs intended for players around 1000+ to be skipping teams worth a couple points each, or at least I hope that wasn't the intent. Something needs to be done to avoid this huge expenditure if the game continues on like this.
I'm still baffled with the entire decision to introduce this mechanism at this moment.0 -

Yep. I'm going to echo this, as it's pretty much exactly what I've had happen. Well... save for the fact that my 166 wall started at freaking 425 points and 104th place.
Say Demiurge; have you been naughty, naughty boys and twisting the MMR knobs behind our backs? You develish little ninjas...0 -
The way I'm looking at it, for PvP events: W-F, F-Su events I can do 900-1100 on 150-225HP. M-W I can do 800-900 on 300 HP (no hops). So that's 2600-3100 per week on 600 - 750 HP. The switch in M-W end time would mean my new HP spend will be between 450-675HP. Saving as much as 150 HP a week is worth it as long as I can still hit 800 per event (the last 50 progression HP), otherwise it would be a net loss. But I'm also in the populous slice in the 'easy' time zone of EST, so 800 shouldn't be a problem based on what I've seen (my bracket is 1000+ for top 10 already, lots of RaidersOutlaws)
For a EU with the same spending habit (24 hr for bad times, 2-3x3hr for the good), that's going from 750-825 down to 450-675, which is an even larger savings and would afford even to miss the 800 awards.
Based on that, it seems to be a no-brainer to take the convenience over the score. The problem is really only the alliance requirements/season scores, which would then suddenly put a premium on playing the 1am EST slice (which I'm pretty confident will always be the most populated and thus highest scoring) regardless. That could actually end up hurting the EU (and other) player base.
The only solution to that I can immediately think of it is to develop a normalized scoring structure based on the players in each slice, and well lets say that's not likely to be added to the game any time soon.0 -
I am really really loving the choice of end times. I am in the midnight GMT end time so still going.
I chose my end time early and like most was a bit surprised to be bracketed imediately, but hey ho will work with it. I didnt actually start for 24 hours so all my points got credited without issue, and am at 600 points unshielded facing mostly 2* Storm amd Magneto.
Thumbs up for me as i can now play up to the end of an event instead of needing an 8 hour shield.0 -
This is hilarious. The people that complained the most are EU players that are transitioning. Its not fair boohoo. I saw this coming. You just cant make everyone happy. You just cant. The way it was before was fine.
Sorry, but if you want Top 25/50/100, you have to be competitive. If that means alarm clocks or staying up later, thats on you. End times are a you problem. It's not a community issue.
Now people are complaining about a whole new set of problems. Not as many points. Wall of 3* earlier. You just cant win with people who want stuff handed to them. Unsurprisingly, these people cry, i mean, complain the most0 -
I made it to 500 points with my transitioning roster. Was in top 100. I didn't play in the last half hour and finished 110th with 444 points. I think top 100 was doable but I didn't try my hardest. Maybe next time I can make it. There isn't an abundance of 23 points and above worth of matches. The climb is a bit slower and harder. I started seeing the 166s around 450 and got to 500 barely with some skipping and actually winning against two of them thanks to 5 red PunPun. If the ending times is implemented permanently, maybe they should consider upping the rewards a bit or pulling the points for the rewards down a bit.
I chose 11 pm for where I live and it's a great convenience for me.0 -
Good option in overall. I have a bit of a struggle with the timezones and all but now in the Hollowpoint Kiss I notice that it says the current time!0

People used to eat food cold and raw. No offense, I'm happy they didn't settle and just try to make the most of it. I like my BBQ and pizza.
Also, I'm not affected by the end times. However, I keep my head where the sun shines, so I can understand if our roles were reversed, I would feel the same way they do.0 -
If you would take 'new' 500 as 'old' 600, it actually was pretty close to what is going on live, on lower end at least. I mean, 520 before was 'don't think about top100', but now I did finish 60. If rewards were moved down a notch (-100 for every reward, though -200 wouldn't break system either) it would seem fine, could help making the top reward obtainable for hoppers too.0

The definition of Mistakes: It could be that the purpose of your life is only to serve as a warning to others.
AKA how to ruin your reputation on a forum in about 5 min.
I am all for the end times. It has placed me in an interesting time slice and I look forward to a PVE slice time too.0 -

Speaking as one of those "wall of 3*" complainers, it's not that I want anything handed to me. I want to be allowed to try and earn it. With the wall coming so hard and so early, I can't play. I don't want gifts. Okay, I do, who doesn't? But what I really want is the chance to work hard. As it is, when I hit the wall, I can't work at all.0 -
I like being able to choose different end times each event as I wont be available at the same times on weekdays as weekends so I don't have to just randomly use 24 hour shield if it was going to finish at a strange time. As far as the alliance score goes does it count the points everyone had when your event finished or does it wait until everyone is done before calculating?0

I was in slice 2 that ended at 10pm CET.
Feedback is mixed. It's nice to be able to play the final 90 minutes of PVP without having to get up at silly o'clock, but having almost no targets above 900 sucks.
And I'm afraid this will only get worse when people start to migrate back to the slices with mega scorers.
I don't really care about season placement so going from a 1150+ average to 963 doesn't matter much, but the people who DO care don't have much choice - they need to be in slice 4.
So I think some sort of slice for season brackets is needed - no idea how that'd work though.0 -
I chose the 1 am (midnight GMT) shard.
It was harder and more costly than usual to climb (more shield hops since there were less targets).
Overall, I think this change is really good for us. We need to get organised in the Alliance and see the results of the new shards and end times, an in the end, everyone will adapt.
With the new pace of new characters released, there had to be a new way of playing with different end times. It's exhausting to be competitive.
There seems to have been some bugs, but overall the beta-test was good.
Maybe we could have some stats from IceIx ? So as to know how many players were in the first shards ?0 -
I really like the option of picking my own end time. Overall scores might be lower than normal but I prefer that over the death brackets.
This thread is about end times not how many ISO spent skipping and some of the other complaints.0 -

That's a very shortsighted comment. Of course those complaints have merit against end times. If someone is a consistent top 10/25 placer; then end times have an affect on targets point values. Hence the person has to skip more if they are up against a smaller subset of the player base.
Other issues which have not been addressed is season and alliance sores as well. D3 created a game that has seasons and alliance competitions. The only way to drive those scores is via PvP. This changes PvP on an individual basis but does nothing to account for season or alliance scores...if you placed yourself in a "quieter" PvP time shard.
Since this is a beta, hopefully it will be addressed. However, I don't think this was cool to do mid season.0
