Finally ended up in a real death bracket, with some top-50 alliance people at the top, hung on for fifth despite a tinykitty cascade-fest handing me a late loss (MNMags resolved an L5 Iron Hammer! I've never seen that happen before!), got my fourteenth consecutive 2* from the anniversary token. Oy. Hopefully my luck will turn around at some point today.

~50 minutes, 3 LRs, 7 tokens. Shame I couldn't do more of these things. Many thanks to Ben Grimm and others that posted strategy. Made life very easy.
  • I wonder if these are finishing at the same time as the current PvP or earlier?

Part of me wants them to finish earlier otherwise I'll have to force myself to wake up during the night to play the last 10m of every round icon_e_sad.gif
  • I suspect the 11:00 PM Eastern time one will be last, and that will end half an hour before Balance of Power.

Just retreated after a tinykitty cascade of non-stop stop tile destruction from a single covered Hood/cStorm/Thorina team.
I made my first move and the AI countered with a move that generated enough AP along with 2 critical tiles to fire off every single one of Thorina's powers and a TU to down my Thornia after my second move.
Needless to say I saw no point in continuing the match & yay for placing 20 out of 20 since time ran out.

In the most recent event (the first since I got up this morning) Moon Roach managed top 1, Wolveroach top 10, using the patented "wait until 10 seconds before the end to get 35 points" trick.

And I got a Colossus cover, so I am a happy Roach.

*is waiting to hear all the transitional players brag about how many Anniversary Tokens they managed to farm and shows exactly 0 Tokens, several 1* covers, ISO (hooray!), Adamantium Slash, and Trickery*

I'm on the high end of the transition (117 is top level), here goes.

    8 full entries (20+ minutes): 2nd, 2nd, 3rd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 6th
    4 last second entries: 3rd, 4th, 5th, 10th.

11 anniversary tokens, about 55k in iso.

My goals were 10 tokens and 75k, but I am satisfied. I'm tired of fighting Thor and I need to get another 200 points in BoP in the next 3 hours.

Yeah, I'm very confused by the supposed end time of these LR's. I got an e-mail from MPQ about 4* Thor stating "The Lightning Round will conclude at 9:59 PM PST on Friday, October 17." I'm not sure how that is possible since LR's have been ending on the 30's...
  • Thor4 combos very well with Patch, but add in OBW and things get crazy! Berserker rage into Thor4's yellow converts enemy strike tiles into purple charged tiles. OBW then matches some doing extra damage, collects extra AP, and espionage on strong Patch strike tiles. This will often lead to stealing AP next turn and finish off the enemy with Thor4's blue red combo

This is my main group for the entire LR. Usually just have to try to keep OBW healthy.

Honestly, I use OBW enough that I feel like I should just recruit and advance a duplicate of her. She's THAT useful.

That's been my main team too. OBW has always been a great fit with Patch thanks to the strike tile double-dip, and of course she's your best friend when rushing particular colors, but mixing in triple damage from charged blue tiles is icing on the cake.

Never really considered that myself until you mentioned it. Shuffling her between PvE & PvP tends to chew through health packs rather quickly.
Perhaps having 2 OBW would be more efficient.

In other words - pretty darn good idea!

Yep, a number of people (including me) have duplicate OBWs. Even for multi-L166 players, she's quite useful in PVEs and BoP/CA. Then, there are those people with OBW battalions for TU patrol purposes. They are bonkers. icon_lol.gif

Plus, she's a good TU to give to your allianceamtes

As a transitioning player (one 3* at 127, another one on the way...some others in the low 100's), it's tough sink that much ISO in another 2* character. But OBW pairs so well with everyone that I really think she's worth it.

Next cover of hers I get, I'm taking a shot at it. I can always get cold feet and use the slot on the next flavor of the month character.

Give Hood a try with her. Try to build up for a use of Twin Pistols. Before using that, put as many Charged tiles on the board as you can with Lady Thor's Red and Blue, preferably Blue.

Twin Pistols collects AP, and Charged Tiles have triple AP. I was able to use Twin Pistols 4 times in a row. Can anyone beat that?

Not currently - my Twin Pistols still ends the turn. icon_e_smile.gif That does sound like an awesome idea, though.

Does my heart good to know my line of thinking is in tune with some of the other forum-goers here. This place (and y'all) have been a great resource. I'm in the right direction!

I have 2 level 15 3/0/0 oBW for TeamUps. It costed no iso, but her ability is the same as a level94 and the ability sent is guaranteed. Next time I have an extra roster spot a 0/5 mBW for the stun.
