Six and a half day slug-fest for new character, no alliance rewards for nodes. Stupid change to same cover reward for personal/alliance unless you top 20 *cough pay cough*.
Heroic - only eight characters are even usable! Except two of them are 1*'s - I have them maxed, but they are basically worthless in this tourney (I tried them in the easy path and wiped them quickly) have fun using your six characters. We get it D3, you want to sell health packs.
"Coolers" - third essential node was first thing I opened. Hello there, 92 Sentry/92 Juggy, really looking forward to your scaling.
The health packs conspiracy theory is old and tired. Let it rest. Heroics have always been this way. And for a brand new character, it's not all the colors that matter, it's getting the first cover.0 -
Damn it, late to the party. Ahem. "Hey guys, this is complete ****: how dare Demiurge restrict the characters we pick to only 8 characters?!?! This isn't "promoting roster diversity" by making us want to level other characters in our roster, this is a straight up cash grab. Pure and simple. Demiurge WANTS us to build our rosters and spend our hard earned money on **** token packs and covers for **** characters like Psylocke. Oh, and these nodes that are actually hard and challenging? Straight up cash grab for health packs. I don't want hard and challenging nodes, I want to faceroll to victory and change all of the event rewards to progression awards so that everyone can start off and get 6 Doc Ock covers." Did I miss anything?
In all seriousness though, the main problem with these heroics is that the 2->3* transition guys who don't have Psylocke / Torch / etc are completely screwed over scaling wise. It's probably fine if they scale events ONLY based off of how the strength of the characters that you CAN use in the heroic are. There's probably some mythical optimal scaling algorithm that can make the playing field relatively even this way, while giving slight advantages to the guys with deep rosters (so a 1* guy would have say a 15% harder time getting points than a 2* guy, but it's not impossible for him to win otherwise.0 -
Sumilia... we summon thee and thine mathemagic....0

Ugh, restricted to 8 characters none of whom are of the quick healing sort, much less true healing?
OBW is the only one with Temp Healing, and IM35 is the only one with defense tiles (lol).
Psylocke is the only one with Strike tiles for OBW to double dip.
Enemies will include overleveled countdowns which no included characters can overwrite, and Squishy Storm is the only one with cascades cheaper than Thor's 12. Those two do not match up well together.
I don't think I'll be getting mr. octopus.0 -
With IM40 already boosted for Heavy Metal, Psylocke and Torch PVP are inbound.0

Hmmm. One thing I think is that some of these characters are FAST. Psylocke with her 8/7/6/5 red and a 6 black, Torch with his 5 green and 8 red... Not top tier, but maybe those two with obw for stealin'n'healin' or IM40 for tankin'n'APgen. Could be interesting. Overwhelm the other team before the anvils drop...? Maybe?0
-
Yeah, Psylocke/Torch/OBW gets you the coveted quadruple-dip on strike tiles, which is hard to complain about.0

Trouble is without an underleveled Psy IM40 doesn't really tank. And Jugs/Daken are almost as fast as you are and much sturdier.0 -
I think I'm going with Torch / OBW / IM40. Psylocke Torch overlap way too much colorwise, and I think I'd rather have recon/recharge fueling torch. I"ll probably rotate in Torch / Psylocke, but having Psylocke in just for her black replacing Torches seems unnecessary.0

Hope everyone's been saving their Judgement and Battleplan TUs.0 -

I think a chunk of my teamups are LThors...0 -
Wow, this is a challenging event. Still one node left in the first sub and I'm out of health packs. I don't remember it being this hard in the past. At least it sounds like I'm not the only one who is struggling. And that's without scaling!0
-
I so hate when they introduce new characters in heroics.0
-
After 3 tries I finally managed to beat the Three Amigos node, and without heavy boosting I doubt I'll be able to beat this node again with scaling applied.0
-
Already some tough levels on my end, but so far I'm okay. Glad to see 3-star Human Torch be a featured character for once instead of them consistently picking Johnny Storm.0
-
The increased difficulty is because they buffed 2* Daken. Him buffed and nuking with 5 blue is pretty powerful, which they didn't account for when they originally designed the event. So the Daken nodes will be extra hard.0
-
Sentry + Juggernaut + Analyst (who feeds red.) Wow. All I can say is thank the Lord the first time she just put out her "Unskilled Shot."
That's ugly.0 -
Definitely a hard event.
I like that, in principle, 2* people should be able to compete. The rosters are so limited - and 1* characters are included - so that darn near everyone will have a shot at doing something.
On the flip side, you still have a 3* cover required (probably more in the future), and the individual nodes are already brutal within the first couple hours - I'm scared of what scaling will do. Hopefully the rubberbanding will be in full force: 120k points is a HUGE number.
Two more thoughts:
Personally I really enjoy the nodes where they hand you a powerful guest team and just let you go to town, like they do for one node in the main. That's really fun for us newbies who haven't seen these guys in action. Sad that you can't replay the node, even if it's just for the random **** rewards and no points.
Also, I have got to remember NOT to join these events within the first hour... I can already tell I'm in a bracket that will ensure no ranking rewards.0
