They probably won't open up until sub 3 is done, leaving about 12 hours to complete them.
Yup.
The 64000 ISO question is what Calvinball rules will be applied to those final nodes.
12 hours to complete... what?
Will the nodes be repeatable?
Will the nodes be worth trivial or insane numbers of points?
Who will join Rags on the final node of the event? (Will Doc Ock make an appearance in the same way that LDaken was introduced as a "boss" for a Heroic?)
Who knows?0 -

Per my very questionable memory, of the 8 final nodes only 5 or 6 are repeatable. Point values were large but rubberbanding was tiny or nonexistent. They did not give away a cover (like the Hulk and Sentry events did). But even if I remember right, things may be different this time. Can't do it, can't keep a straight face. Different would be shocking based on past experience with D30 -

does this mean that the lead I finish with prior to the final 12 hr main nodes opening up will stand? as long as I do my part and go thru them as usual0 -

Based on my recollection, if you do the 5 clears in the first 10 hours, your lead should be as much as you started with and then it is a question of how many partial points you need to grind to hold onto it. On the other hand, even if there is rubberbanding, if you do your optimal clears, nobody can catch you anyway.0 -

Wasted my remaining health packs on that node. Now I have to wait.
I've only been able to beat it with the help of some lucky cascades at the beginning - taking out the analyst (or whatever it is) is key. Then focus on Juggy.
Help me, OBWan, you're my only hope - her purple has saved my **** quite a few times.
I can only attempt it when It I have full health pack after my run which happens some times. And the most recent one, completely got destroyed. so the next pass thru ( again with 4+ health packs) I try the ares/sentry/daken and my OBW was taken out early, while I was lucky enough to cause a major cascade and down everyone except Ares, sadly Sentry's sacrifice of 600+ dmg since the first few rounds is right smack in the corner and I couldnt touch it. despite I have a 5k dmg dino bite TU ready for trigger. Ares's 8k health along with my puny hawkeye with 600 hp left was not enough. I was just one turn away... dam it
I should quit attempting this "Normal" node as I am not scoring any points due to wiping twice even though I got close with just mHawkeye v Venom & a near dead Juggy.
Managed to down Juggy and get Venom down to ~300 hp with mHawkeye ~1200hp.
Cascade, stun, devour.
Ready to throw my phone across the room0 -
The enemy just finished their first turn
I'm pretty sure only bad things can come of this

Unless you are realistically playing for 2 or 3 covers, walk away from this node and the Sentry/Ares/Daken node. I have made 4 clears in the 8 hours that I have played this sub, with only 1 clear of this node and 0 clears of Ares et al and am in second place in the sub. Save your health packs and lower your stress level. Good luck0 -
Hear hear. Judging from my bracket, very, very few people are completing that node or the subsequent one with any frequency, if at all. Unless you're looking to climb up in the rankings, you don't need to worry about it - you'll keep pace just fine if you stop after the Muscle/Hitman/Don node.0

I get grinding...in the summer when I had more free time I was able to grind much more than I do now, so I play more strategically so I can stay in the top 10 at least.
I'm currently have 116293, and I'm in 7th. The top three in my bracket? 150771, 143349, 136090.
I honestly don't understand how they score that high. I haven't missed more than a couple refreshes.
I don't know why I'm bothering really. The event ends right in the middle of a class, so I can't hit that final rush anyway0 -

Define "couple". Refreshes are every 2.5 hours or so, right? Do you sleep for longer than that?0 -

I'd assume those other people that are being competed against would at some point need a regular night's sleep as well.
(Then again; this is MPQ and the obsessive compulsive runs strong in this game...)
I figure though, that realistically, it's going to be more than just those few refreshes missed due to sleep. If you've got a day job, you could schedule a sweep around lunch but any more than that is probably only going to be partial plays while stepping out for a smoke, etc. and not full sweeps. (Ofcourse; that's still better than what PC players would be getting. We're totally getting **** in PvE. Moreso if it's compounded by unfavorable end times.)0 -
So, I think they got the progression rewards right this time around. Only 3 people in my bracket have cleared the 120,000 point mark. That's about right considering there's only a little over 1 day left. Also, I hate that Analyst goon feeding Juggs node, but I've beat it every time so far. Only been wiped out once. Now that one owned me last night. Lost 3 straight times. Can't wait for the death of Heroics. If that day ever comes....0

In my bracket the first place player has a 5k lead over 2/3. I'm trading 2nd/3rd back & forth with somebody and as near as I can tell, neither of us are doing the two hard nodes regularly. I try one or the other every few refreshes if I have the health packs but my win rate is probably 50% or less. I'm assuming first place is hitting them all each time through. Honestly, my goal is top 10 so I'm in good shape unless the RB goes nuts over the last 12 hours.0

I do not understand your score. I have not done a single refresh in the first 18 hours of each sub so missing 7 refresh each time hence I have missed 21 refreshes so far. I then only partially clear the nodes until the 18H mark. At this time I do most nodes twice before sleep and I sync up refreshes for the final 11 hours. I am currently sitting on 124K points.0 -
I've concluded that none of this makes sense except maybe to the devs and even then, maybe not to them, either.
I shouldn't have bothered to start this event so soon; I'm definitely not going to hit Final Progression this time despite the grinding. Leaders already hit the 130k mark; I barely hit 75k and missing 16 hours and sleep on the other days definitely did me no favors.
Apparently, 'working hard' actually means something other than 'working hard'.
Trivial node dropped 10 levels, Hard node shot up 10+ levels.
SURELY, PEOPLE AREN'T ACTUALLY DYING ON THE TRIVIAL NODE.0 -
Wow can you ever gain some ground if you can actually get through those hard nodes - I had to abort my first run last night (game crashed so I lost OBW, Torch and Psy and only had one health pack left at the time) so I was only about halfway through. Started up again this morning to find myself 150th but just by playing the nodes I couldn't get through last night I shot straight up in 30th.
I'm not looking forward to trying them again though. I got crazy lucky on both Sentry nodes with OBW managing to have enough blue on hand to shut down World Rupture both times.0 -
Okay, now I have a 17k lead over 10th. I think ppl are starting to lose hope.0
-
I used to enjoy PvE and usually did well in it.
I am still doing ok enough but this new style of grindfest is killing interest and I am defintely playing a bit less. Playing a bit less has equalled a far greater reduction in gaining of covers.
Seems like if you put a reasonable amount of effort in, you'll get a 3* cover, but to do any better, you've really gotta put in even more time and maybe health packs. This is far different from when covers were much more plentiful.
This is really going to slow down the distribution and gathering of 3* characters, which is probably the plan of the devs.0 -
I'm slowing down now. At this point I just want to get the last Psylocke and relax. No way to get to top 20 and no way to drop out of the top 150 for a cover.
On the bright side, this will be the first 3* cover that I have 5 of! Hooray! Wish it were a better character, but beggars can't be choosers.

(I also landed in his bracket for the third sub. Numbers 2-5 are all pretty bunched together, with 3,000 points separating us, and another 3,000 separating 5 from 10. And then there's Ryz at the top, 5,000 points above second place.)
I'm sure you noticed when you passed me, but the size of that lead was mostly an artifact of timezones - most of the top 10 looks like they are in the US to me. When you guys in the US come online in the morning I am making my final run for the night, so my score seems really high. When I played a bit before work today you had almost caught up, and when I got home after work you and Monstercod had both passed me. Now I'll be able to retake the lead before the end because it's getting to my play time, but I expect my lead to be under 10k in the main by the end of the sub if I have one at all.
Whether that will hold depends on how those last 12 hrs play - if they are one time, no rubberband then I should win a fury cover. If they are repeatable, no rubberband then I expect to drop a bit but a 20k lead over 10th should hold up ok. If they are repeatable with a rubberband, I'll likely drop to one cover territory.0
