If I'm remembering correctly, there were repeatable nodes in the main last time, but with no rubberbanding. So if you finish the sub with a lead comprised of more points than will be available to people grinding out the non-RB main nodes, you shouldn't have much to worry about. Also, if you finish the sub and can do the same amount of main nodes, placements ought not vary much.
aaaaannnd....
Bracket Update!
Almost 24 hours from when it started, my bracket is now up to 959 players. Keep waiting folks!
This Bracket Update has been brought to you by the cover that comprised my Daily Reward today. Yay! 500 !0 -

As a bit more info for people still looking to join, the bracket I'm in, which started 20 hours ago (7PM EST), is only up to 833 players. Meaning there are certainly going to be people joining this main who won't have access to the points from the second sub. Don't be one of those people... I just saw the number jump from 831 to 833 while typing this. Those players basically have no shot at . I'll update again as the numbers change there.
There is more than 1 bracket open. I joined about 9 hours ago and was number 984 into my bracket, which has since filled up. Not sure what that really means, but thought I should add the data point.0 -

Well that's interesting. Guess they are sharding us in PvE even when there's not the insane rush that occurs at the beginning, which was the justification for the shards.0 -

The event ends at 5 AM, meaning you'd have to play the last hours in the dead of night.
The last sub closes at 5 PM, meaning everyone is still stuck at their job for the last hours of the sub.
It's about as EU-unfriendly as can be conceived.
Ofcourse; the sub does end at a favorable time for west-coast and central US players to put in one final pass of their nodes in the morning before/during breakfast or while commuting.
If I have my time-zone conversions right, then even east-coast US gets to play a last pass if they get up an hour early.
It's an Asia friendly PvE! End times aren't great for me in Australia (around 2 am) - but being able to play close to a sub end makes a world of difference so this as a vast improvement over the norm here. I'm sure I'll drop a bit at the end due to the event ending while I'm at work, but I can handle dropping from top 2 to top 20 - it's much better than the usual where I have to hope that I don't drop out of the covers completely.0 -

In fairness it's likely that during the mad rush 2+ brackets were being filled then when the rush ended you would be left with 2+ partially full brackets.0 -
Bracket Update!
My bracket is now finally full. Took over 24 hours.0 -

And many thanks from me too! I was just about to join, but waited for a while when I saw your post and was about 50th to join my bracket. Now it is about 95 people there.
This is a big help, I'll retreat in pvp to give you some points as thanks when I see you
Oh, and I'll try to update here, how my bracket is filling up.0 -

Glad to help. I was within the first 9 players to join my bracket, and it was solely due to other community people letting me know when their bracket filled up. Figured I'd pass the favor on.0 -
Hey folks, been a while since I've posted. With the new characters released I've joined events within the last hour and earned all of the covers...Hopefully that works for the Doc as well. If not, no big deal.0

So now I'm sitting first in sub #3. Finished top 15 in sub #1, and 1st in sub #2. That is good for 47th overall. Is it possible that the top grinder is affecting the rubberband in his subs? Is he pulling everyone with him and locking out people in other subs from being able to catch up?

The top grinder effects the rubber band of every ones subs not just his own. Since the subs are 5 times smaller than the main you can get some very odd winning score for subs. Take my second sub yesterday my score was 52.5K points - about 13.5K behind the global sub "winner". However if I was not in the sub the person in second, who scored only 38.7K, might say "I won my sub why am I falling behind" when in truth there winning sub score would have been below average and hence the reason for them falling behind.0 -
Just a heads up, I was on my alt checking the rubber band scaling for this sub, its scaled up with the point values, and the node to open the 3rd set of subs - Special Equipment - was showing a some rubber banding. Now I know my alts about 140K points down on the global leader and so its probably does not change much, it does not help that I cannot remember its value when I did it, and I do not know if the repeatable nodes will have scaling on them on not but done say you were not warned.0

Trying my best to hold onto a top 10 ranking, but scaling is getting BRUTAL!!! They really should stop calling these events Heroics and honestly just label them as Brutal (though I wish they'd do away with insane scaling if they lock out most of your roster) I'm not sure I can keep grinding the last 2 Hard nodes for another 24hrs...I really hope Dr. Cocktopussy is worth the effort... wonder what his animations will be like... You just KNOW he's into tentacle p0rñ0

I've been rising in the rankings and I continue to skip the hardest nodes (just the top 2 this time around). I have been playing, from a time standpoint, about as optimally as I can (doing clears immediately upon full refresh, doing multiples prior to work/bed, etc.), but I've gone from being #16 at the end of the first sub to #9 at the end of the second, and have stayed at least approximately top ten during most of this one. And this has been mostly skipping the top three nodes the first time, and the top two the second and third subs.
It appears to be possible to skip nodes and get top ten. Admittedly, you have to play pretty optimally otherwise. But I'm not burning many health packs, not wiping out regularly, and the matches are pretty low-stress.0 -

Hopefully hitting the rest of the nodes will be enough to keep me in t10.
If the final nodes will be even harder I'll just give up I think.0 -

I don't really touch the top three nodes, try to go through all the others every couple of hours once they are fully refreshed and I'm sitting in 36th. So it's definitely possible to do ok without smashing through the hardest nodes.
That could all be undone when the main sub opens of course! But Sumi will understand that stuff far better than I do0 -
im currently sitting rank 1/1 with about a 7k lead on 10th. I have been skipping the top 2 nodes and only do the 3rd node if I have 4+ health packs as to not handicap myself on my regular refresh runs.
im more afraid of the rubberband than the scaling at this point, I was leading 12k on 10th at one point, and every 12+ hrs or so, it would feel as though the gap can easily be reduced significantly quite fast. Each time when the sub node went to its final hours, this lead on 10th would vaporize and suddenly I find myself actually sitting in 9th-10th spot. (yes this was as a result of the end time and I had to sleep)0 -
So it turns out that the bright side of having to wake up at 4:30 to give my wife a ride to the airport is that, between the lack of sleep and being alone at home afterward I got to play PvE pretty much optimally over an almost 48-hour stretch (except for skipping the two hardest nodes). So now I'm in second with a 13K buffer over third place. Hooray, I think?0

Did my first pass on the 3rd subs.
Juggs/Venom node --> Rage of Panther teamup
Ares/Sentry/Daken node --> XForce green teamup
Is that a stealth change or was it announced? Either way, it led to an almost wipe and a complete wipe. Essentials and easy for me from here in as I continue the climb from 984th to top150.0
