FYI, Hulk Sighting: Sudan and West Sahara are generated 82 and 123 points (to get to the submissions) right now, respectively. I'm going to wait it out just a bit as they've sky-rocketed in the last 15 minutes.

I'm becoming more intrigued by the scale for THE HULK meta event rewards, to be honest; if the very top (how-did-they-even-get-that-high?) score in the leaderboard is multiplied by 3 for another 6 days of the pace, it would cap out at around 8k - however the reward chart goes up to 50k and leaps up in increments bigger than 99% of players are likely to achieve in total (5k)...

If I play intensely for another day I can get... 1 health pack.
2 More intense days after and 250 ISO can be mine! Don't spend it all at once! icon_lol.gif

Have I missed some way to 'tank' this event?
I did lousy in the previous pair (600-800 tier), yet I'm being offered 13 points for a (first-time) West Sahara L85 Ragnorak fight while the leaderboard shows people nearing 400 points?
  • I have to say I like the rubberbanding on this so far. (And that's the first time). It seems it will bring you decently to the top (around top 300 to 500) and then it stops and you only get the minimal values for each mission. So top player can Farm a decent amount ahead and don't have to worry about to be taken down in the last hours and the rest has a decent amount of chance to gain ground.
  • No need to grind. I just did Sahara once and only exhausted 'A Score to Settle' and went from over 1800 to 200 in the main event.

There's a guy at the top of my leaderboard whose ahead by 200 points. Everyone else is within a few points of each other. How the hell can he lose? Also theladder is in the top 10

  • Hi There,

Can someone please explain to this numpty (me) what 'Rubber banding' is?

Someone else could probably put this better than me but, I'll try. icon_lol.gif

Rubber-banding is a system the devs have in place where if you fall behind in points in your bracket, your points in missions are multiplied (up to a varying limit) so that everyone in the bracket can get the ladder rewards. However, fortunately or unfortunately for us (because we never really know until the last second) it also allows those with lower points who have played less frequently or in a strategically different manner to catch up to and even pass the players who are at the top of said bracket (generally at or near the end of the event).

    I think that's right. Lol.
  • I had no idea about this event until today. Lol. I hope I can catch up in the main bracket. icon_eek.gif

Oof, it's getting a bit tedious grinding all these stacks down. Twice. Maybe I should sit one out and see how the rubberbanding goes

Agreed. Especially with all the family gatherings for Christmas. Doubt I'll be able to keep up the pace. Would be nice if rubber banding will fix it for us.

Clearly theladder, polkio, and elemantor have figured out something to break ahead to the top 10 like that

The point rewards are presumably going to ratchet up huge over the next few days if anyone is going to have a chance at the 50000 reward.
...will this make rubberbanding even stronger?
  • Funny things is that i miss a day of not playing yet one of the mission have give me enough pts to hit top 20. While other mission I was trying my best to get pass 400 ranks..

anyone able to get both mission top 50? I only manage on 1st. 2nd day n 3rd which is currently only allow me to get top 20 for one of the mission.

I just started earlier yesterday with 5 hours left on each sub-mission and went to sleep with 3 hours left in 1st place on one and in the 20's in the other. I went to sleep and woke up with a top 4 finish on the first and between a top 21 and 100 finish on the other (I don't know where exactly). I did all events until no points were available on the first sub-mission and was too sleepy to do the same with the second.

I am, however, still a long way out of the top 300 in the overall ranks. icon_redface.gif

Being in Europe helps, I think icon_e_wink.gif

Timings seem to be working nicely for me, even if the grinding is pretty tedious.
