Server Outage 8/3

So I and I figure alot of others, was waiting for the deadpool event to end to even enter the thor event. If the serves wouldnt of crashed I would of at least contributed enough to put my alliance in the top 250 instead of top 500 I would have won a thor token, my season score would of been somewhere between 300-600 points higher I would of at least been near the top 100.
Compensation expected for everyone
1. thor token
2. 75 hero points
3. a season score increase of 200 points for everyone
Above and beyond apology compensation for everyone possible
1. A 3*thor cover or 3 (I want yellow but im not picky)
2. 300 hero points
3. season score increase of 500 for everyone
4. one of each hood cover
5. a dead pool cover yes his event was not effected but we all know it was him that messed the servers up so a cover would be nice (pluss everyone likes deadpool if you wanta make people happy give then Deadpool)0 -

What they want is money from customers and to make money they provide contents so you don't trash that game after few weeks... One way or another, that game indeed is free to play; you don't have to toss dollars in it and still play big time. So unless you are forced to throw in some cash (and you are not forced in this game), you still get big return on investment.
Being free to play doesn't mean it can be junk. Also, for me and the other competitive people on this forum, this is not free - we paid to get the best experience we can, and getting NO experience at all due to server crashes or getting a bad experience due to incomplete features is a very bad return on investment.
If a record number of people are playing at once i don't think its accurate to call it junk. I am sorry the servers have been down every time you have tried to play and you have no experience at all with the game. If a temporary outage causes this much angst maybe you are in a little too deep. Deep breaths, the addiction machine will be back on shortly, you will be OK.0 -

I didn't say "MPQ is junk". I said " F2P games don't have to be junk". You can tell the difference, I'm sure.
Also, a temporary outage becomes way more important if the timing is bad - the exact situation here. I don't have to list all the MPQ mechanics that make the last hour in ALL events so much more valuable than any other, don't I? After all, judging by the amount of posts you have, you have enough experience with this addiction you speak of

arktos1971 wrote:If it cuts on servers' load, you can take Team Up off the game, I'm sure very few people will mind after the mess this is causing in tournaments...
This is easily your best post Arktos1971 like many, I didn't get to play the end of the thor pvp as I have been doing final hour grinds this season to save hp and usually go unshielded the whole event. I will live with my measly score as I didn't care about seasons anyway but I know a couple alliance mates who were hurt pretty bad bc they could not grind out to keep pace in their competitive s4 brackets for top10. Things happen but with all the negative press Team Ups are getting (and deservedly so since they are horrible imbalance) this just sets people off. I'd love a DP cover but it won't happen guys. I think they may give 100hp or some tokens.0 -
Yes, I was winning twice when SUPERNOVA Team Up showed up. And I can't even get rid of my 3 black Bullseye... Been trying about 20 times so far...
Team Up is a joke (yes, sure, it's ridiculously funny).
Many claim this is a way of using Health Packs.
Ok. Really ?
But then, wasn't there a better idea to do so in the game ?
Like, organising 2 days event for a most wanted character ?
Oh ! I'm silly, that just happened !
It's too bad the server crashed...
I guess I now know why D3P don't want to please us and listen to us !
If they do things we like, we crash their servers !
I'll call the WWF so that they help prevent the instinction of hamsters.
(sorry guys about the crazy post, I have had 2 sleepless nights for Deadcool covers, ended 4th main, won 4 covers, and because of another bug, just got half of my rewards (PvE and PvP))
So I really needed to go nuts.0 -
Just wanted to report that everything with the server is ok here. It was down for I guess about 7 hours but it seems to be fine now.0
-
It went out for me about ten minutes before the end of the tourney.
I had started a match worth around 700 points and didn't get credit for it and finished a little above top 100.
I can't see if it would have placed me at the 100 mark because it is just beyond the ten spaces around me that I can see. From the looks of it I would have been very close to another cover.0 -

I slept like a baby and got a lot of stuff done. Finished 2 in my main. Unless you were unfortunate enough to live in EU for end times, not sure why you would have had to lose sleep for this one?
Edit- if you going to thumbs down you could at least read what I wrote, I acknowledged the plight of others in different time zones, meaning that I could understand why they'd have the misfortune of losing out on sleep, but did not understand why others not in an unfriendly ending time zone would have to lose sleep.0 -

I do have experience with the addiction, yes, and I know how important the end of events are as well. But servers don't overload two hours after an event ends after everyone has logged off, they fault at the peak. And when the server goes down it goes down for everyone so standings remain about where they were, but those making their final push are denied that last amount of time. Is that fair? Not really no, but what is your realistic expectation? Should we have a redo? I just don't know why you seem to feel like a server outage is MPQ treating you unfairly. Like they planned it just to make you mad...0 -

I think it was obvious I live in Europe where the PvEs end at 6 am.
If you don't understand why we, EU players, have sleepless nights, we probably don't play the same game.
Even if I was clearing the nodes back to back in the last hours, I was ranking worse and worse in the 2nd sub...0 -

That's terrible logic.
A lot of people play COD.
Nobody plays Perfect Dark online anymore.
You gonna tell me that PD is junk (I'll fight you over that please don't) and COD isn't?0 -
I am soooo glad that I'm on vacation in the USA for this event.0

People actively enjoying a game means someone thinks it is not junk, Perfect Dark was great, and COD can be lots of fun (prepared to be flamed for admitting that, disclaimer have not played COD since MW2). I was trying to defend MPQ from being called junk, not disparaging the greats that have come before and have waned in popularity over the years.0 -
So for my first public post I just wanted to say...some people are happy they got their Deadpool covers, some feel aggrieved they missed out, some feel cheated in the PvP ...I just don't understand why some posters - here and on Facebook etc feel the need to be so nasty to other posters about it all...
Come on now - Group Hug0 -

Obviously, it was not obvious, or I would not have written the response. Moreover, I wouldn't written once in the orignial post that it did not apply to EU players, much less written an edit to bring even further attention to the fact that I did not intend it to apply to EU players.
Despite this, I apologize. I would not have written this if I knew you were on Euro time.0 -
darthmental wrote:Now that the servers are back up,the question is what will D3 do to compensate the player base.....
A lot of people missed out on rewards for Thor pvp and Deadpool PvE.
At the very least they should extend the reward ranks....top 5 rewards should be the top 10 rewards etc.
We all wait to see if they actually will make up for this debacle.
Also wasted health packs ..I know I had 2 left to use I was about to when the game didn't work anymore .0 -
Sure, and maybe they could make all your guys health regenerate for free to make up for all those wasted hit points too.0
-
I know a lot of players missed out on playing pvp in the last hour because they were grinding pve for deadpool covers... I was very fortunate to shield at a reasonable score before server crash so i dont feel cheated out of season points...
And i think its positive that D3 did write on the forum and inform us that they were working on bringing the game back up! It would have been a smart move to anounce some kind of compensation to calm the fan base down I mean its obvious ppl are very mad.0 -
simonsez wrote:yogi_ wrote:I cannot imagine them extending anything.
The PvE was down for no more than a minute and PvP while down for a hour, there is no point in rerunning and the next one will start soon.
