  • I swear, I didn't do it !

Sorry, that's just my go to response. icon_e_wink.gif But I just know I'll get blamed for for this too.

You cause one little lab fire and you're branded for life. Anytime something goes wrong, I get the blame. icon_e_confused.gif

I noticed another thread about getting two devil dino tups was deleted almost ad fast a was posted. Guessing the post was in error.

Actually, I tried to edit it, and deleted it by mistake. I didnt care to re type it so i left it. Unless someone knows how to un delete a post. That is the 2nd time this week I have done that. It's these tiny little buttons. But I did stock up 2 Devil Dino and a few Fury TU

If you only knew the battles that swype and I had. I can't say I won, but lets's just say swype is no longer on my phone.

Finally a break from playing constantly!

Make sure you guys treat the people working the issue to pizza and beer. Thanks for the communication.

The "Check Your Internet Connection" notice is really annoying, because my connectivity problems are nearly always server-side, and it comes off as pathetic ****-covering. "Could Not Connect To Server" would at least be a neutral way of reporting connectivity problems.
You are right. Moreover while the notice is on the screen I don't have the option to quit properly the game...
  • I was 6th in Deadpool in the match that would've got me 5th. I no happy.

Especially when some **** started leaving the alliance when we were at rank 50...dropping us down to rank 160.
  • Didn't realize the servers were down so I thought something was wrong with my app. Ended up uninstalling it and re-installing it. I won't lose my progress and characters right?

There's been intermittent connections that have allowed me to quit the game properly. Here's hoping the server correctly saved my tournament progress. :-/

If you connected it to FB, just reconnect and it'll pull down your data again. If not, hard to say as it depends on your other device settings as to whether it'll keep that save data. If you do lose access to the account, put in a CS ticket. Losing you save data locally still won't wipe it on the servers, so it's recoverable.

    Why would they do that?

well right now i'm *technically* in the "game" but there's no events nor is there anything to do but try to do prologue before it says no connection again.
  • I hope it gets fixed soon.

And I hope we rewarded somehow, some we have lost the final of Thor Tournament.

Well, I was asleep for the last 6h of the event, but surely I would have finished in Top 5, so I really need all the deadpool covers as compensation...right? icon_e_wink.gif

Good on you for sticking around and giving updates, Ice.

_way_ better communication than last time we had such a thing happen - although it's hard to imagine worse communication than we had last time icon_e_wink.gif

As someone who's done a ton of big systems troubleshooting I'd guess this problem comes down to coding and not user activity load.

Someone from D3 pm this guy asap! He can solve problems without needing crash dumps or server loads. Without looking at anything he can get the servers functioning so I can play. Thanks!!

I'm not solving the problem, just applying triage experience that it's unlikely to have been caused by standard player activity overloading the servers.

Even with the expected higher then usual user load at the end of the Deadpool PVE the MPQ servers (or at least some of them depending on the sharding coding) were still responsive with less then 120 seconds remaining in the event. Maybe there was an unusual surge of user traffic in the last two minutes of the event, but it seems unlikely imo to have been that much of an increase compared to the prior 2-60 minutes.

That being said, it also affected Thor's PVP for the final hour, so there's definitely that to consider.

While I/we appreciate the update, I have a couple of questions/concerns...

What's the plan for fixing tye last hour of the LThor PvP? If you end it, that hurts those of us finishing the DP PvE...if you extend it, how am I to know when, or will I be awake or miraculously logged back into the game & either (A) be shielded from attacks as I was prior to the problem, & (B) have enough time to work myself back to where I was (or higher) in my bracket as I had planned to do after finishing my last match in the DPA PvE?

We're working on getting them back up ASAP. The upside is that this Event had by far and away the largest concurrent user playtime ever!

Update: Servers are coming back up in a controlled manner with batches of users allowed back on to ease onloading and confirm stability. Expect to see no Versus Events available for a little bit until we get everything stabilized and can flip it all back on again. Rewards would be next out after we get everyone back to playing.

would you mind timestamping your updates in the future?

I cannot imagine them extending anything.

The PvE was down for no more than a minute and PvP while down for a hour, there is no point in rerunning and the next one will start soon.

    Thank you for communicating, but...
    1. Can you put sending out the "we're working on it" message as a top priority from now on? I know 1h 16 min is a lot better than days (yes, I remember when you just lied low for over a day without any update...) but still.
    2. Is the quoted line an upside for me? I guess it is, 'cause more players = more money = less of a chance of this game going belly up. Still, it doesn't feel like an upside to me, and I can't share the joy.
    3. This issue keeps popping out over and over again, and the "look, we had unexpectedly high numbers of players coming out to play" excuse got old. It feels like you're wasting time on bells & whistles instead of fixing the fundamentals, and this is sad.

    Cheers!
  • If it cuts on servers' load, you can take Team Up off the game, I'm sure very few people will mind after the mess this is causing in tournaments...
